watched till 4 episode and the only thing i want to say is season 1 is far better than this ... 2nd case is more…
Oh Finally someone I agree with...I also will stop now. I found what was so appealing about Season 1 was the simplicity and groundedness of the cases. My first impression of this season is it looks like theh are doing too much. I don't like the easthetic especially colour gradient. The whole everything is yellow, brown golden looking makes it look so fake. The only good thing so far is all the actors came back for season 2. And that's about it. Then again, I'm biased because Season 1 was just something magnificent.
This reminds me of the saying that When money chnages hands, the value is different. And in this case, when the srcipt changes writers, the feeling is different.

Okay, my fantasy did not include Tor in a BL drama (this part, Yes πŸ˜‰) as a serial killer....So writer, you better come with a plot twist otherwise 🀨
This reminds me of Manner of Death and thats a good thing. After Midnight Museum, I have been wishing for Tor to be in a BL...so I'm ecstatic, my prayers are answered. He is that good of an actor. I have followed his dramas for a while and I'm not disappointed so far.
Talk about the drama...it's everything I thought it would be and call me intrigued...
If "I don't trust you" was a face then Wasan's face would be it. I couldn't stop chuckling each time he meets Kan. And Kan...oh boi, he is literally ticking every point in the book, How to be suspect number 1...huh

@Tkcjt KQ is struggling to come to terms that overnight her biological father just appear in front of her and…
Well, yeah definitely we don't expect her to run around calling him dad all of a sudden and I don't ecpect full open arm embrace either. I said luttle warmth but more so curiosity. Such as, how come he hasn't aged, so what happened and since she had that flashback, you would think she would want to know more. Above all what was my mother like. I just thought her indifference or lack of all I mentioned was strange. Ofc my opinion

Title See Her Again Spoiler
Actually watching this drama made me think of another drama that had adoption side story (Virtuous Business kdrama). In this one, I'm actually shuddering for the thought that his daughter was raised by a serial sadistic murderer who also might just be the killer of her real mother (yeah I bet). I feel for Kaiqing when she finds who her beloved father is. Also, I felt some time of way by her indifference towards her real father (most past) that I felt sorry for him. I know she only knows her adopted parents but couldn't she have shown a little warmth and curiosity towards Jiajie after he told her πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” Her love and devotion towards her adopted parents is like nowhere near what was in Virtuous Business. The irony is in the latter, it appears the adopted parents were actually good people and he was raised with love and yet he yearned for his real mother that you would think he grew up at the orphanage. Two complete different drama and both show adoption in a very interesting way.

Wow, finally all caught up and I really love this. I definitely need to give William his flowers for his performance cause, I'm convinced he is a man from the 90's in desperate search for the truth and his family. But the best performance goes to the guy with mental illness. Like, woah, he blew my mind that I didn't want to see his end. I felt like he was taunting me too hehehe...especially the part when Jaijie is anxiously asking him to spit it out the name...I was also frustrated even though we know who it is. He is a really good actor. I can't help but to feel sorry for him because after all, he is vulnerable and somebody exploited him...sigh

The auntie tries to kill ML because she blames him for his mother's death. But she finally came to her senses and saved him. I wouldn't call her evil perse but just hurting. I think she appears in about 2/3 eps.

Title The Story of Pearl Girl Spoiler
I guess I have a different perspective. I think it seems abrupt because of how fast the pace is, but in reality.…
I think, if you read my comment again yu will see I didn't say his common sense should work to avoid what happened. I said, it would have been worth the writer made Yan to think these events are suspicious even if he is unable to prevent the aftermath. I even gave 2 ways it could have been portrayed. This ep falls short because in the last eps. especially at Wuling, he was able to realise that something suspicious was up. So here, he doesn't especially when his loved one is in danger πŸ€”

Well, he was at the brink of death himself so in no shape or form would he be able to take her. He was also rescued so...
I hope they at least show a flashback that once he woke up, he returned to look for her etc.

Exactly, what insideout91 said. So if she is to hate him maybe she can hate that he is too caring and wanted her safe. As for her being left in the fire...well, I doubt Yan was in any place to save anyone and it's a FIRE that engulfed the whole place so logic is to think, may she died....πŸ™‰
You know, what I think I won't use logic anymore πŸ˜€

I think they thought she died with Shrimp in her arms. She did get shot with an arrow. The fire was all around…
Well, I don't know. Right now, I miss Shijiu.
She is such a complex fascinating character to me.

Maybe everything will be explained later episodes just like other cases… they seem illogical at first but it…
The problem is that logic doesn't apply here. This is not a plot point that is left to understand later. Funny enough this could have been solved even one scene of Yan and Kang talking e.g. "Hang on a minute, how did the bandits knew about DW" and "We have spies everywhere". Even if the latter events had ended the same but I as a viewer would actually appericiate that iur lead whom they say is very clever is exactly that. And I would think, okay, even if they knew they are spies, maybe they didn't have enough time to prepare before they get ambushed etc.
Am I making sense??

That last statement made me chuckleπŸ˜ƒ. Yeah, Zhang is known for that so let's leave it to him. Oh don't get me started on him in this ep. Anywho, you just made me laugh.

Title The Story of Pearl Girl Spoiler
Am I the only one who feels bamboozled by the writer in ep 18. Like everything seems illogical to me and this is a first for this drama. Up until this ep. Yan is portrayed as meticulous, clever and 3 steps in advance in planning and truly there are certain moments it shows and I'm impressed. So where has his brain gone to in this ep. So they arrive at this desert city (forgot the name), DuanWu gets kidnapped. The kidnappers know 1) her identity 2) that she has the blood stained pearl 3) she is someone close to him. And never does it occur to him to thinm, how do they get to know all this???πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ˜ Isn't it logical to know straight away, they are spies everywhere and either, try find them or have to be more vigilant etc. Even if the result was the same but couldn't he think and talk about this to show his common sense which he has been using all along.
Okay, let's say, maybe he was too emotional when DuanWu gets kidnapped (hehe) but when that witch doctor gets killed, Isn't it more apparent that there are spies everywhere and those bandits have already infiltrated this city...
Or is my common sense not common...I don't know. The whole entire ep. I had WTH facepalm than anything else. I'm actually slightly disappointed because I had very high regard for this drama...
I will continue to watch cause well, I'm curious...haha
Especially the so called Separation and misunderstanding trope that's about to happen. Again logically speaking the only thing I can think DuanWu should be mad at him about is that Yan drugged her intending to leave her for her safety since she wanted to go die with him. Other than that what else can she be mad about πŸ€” That she didn't wake up sooner...well, blame the drug or that her friends died....well, it's the Bandits not Yan's fault. So exactly what would she hate him for. Alas, I will just throw away common sense and see.
