Okay, just watched the Special Ep. And I'm revived... But really, WHO SAYS I WANNA BE SPECIAL HENCE NEED A SPECIAL EP. eye-roll. I just want an ep with a Happy Ending...that's it.
I'm on ep 36 and I wish I could press a pause button because I really don't want this drama to end. This has been one of the most engaging dramas to watch for me lately (well alongside Rattan, The Lovely Writer, Word of Honor). As much as I love love the girls, I have found myself psychoanalysing the guys and oh boi, I had a lot to on my plate. Vincent- He is my least favourite of all. The sad thing is, his background story is so rich that I would have been so interested if he had made better choices. But then again that's the reality of life. Some people are damaged from childhood and they get angry at the world. In his defence, he is doing it all to protect himself but he forgets that no man is an island. Now what I hate about his behavior is dragging down the innocent to feed his ego.
Du Jaimu - He is my sec least fav. and not for the reasons that many might think. I happen to be very open minded and like to think outside the box so things like age gaps etc. I really don't care. I may not like it but I also don't judge. So my problem with this man is, he is a puzzle and I don't like it. I said in my other comment how he does the opposite of what he says and that often leads to misunderstandings or being shady. If you meet this girl who express to have a crush on you, and you don't feel the same way = You say it. Du Jaimu doesn't and actually leads her on...WTH. Then he tells Ru Xie that no, he doesn't like XY that way blah blah. Aaaah, dude, the way you act tells otherwise so if you don't feel that way then stay away. And another concern about thi man is, what is his agenda?? Because his backstory paints a not so good picture about him. Tbh, he is an enigma character and I don't know whether to blame the character or the writer...sigh
Lui Ke- Contrary to what many would say, I actually don't see many wrongs in this guy. His relationship with XiXi was going nowhere and they had real problems and to be fair I understood his reasons for breaking up. My problem with Lui Ke is he is so insecure and has low self esteem but also not willing to acknowledge. It's always about other things being the problem but not him. I don't want to criticise how he nded things with XiXi and got together with assistant wedding planner because I think that's not his main problem. Because of his low self confidence he relies on these women to validate his value and that's why he is in a relationship. I actually don't really think he loves them (maybe loved XiXi at one time) but to him when they complement him and feed his ego = love. He needs to work on himself alone and not use a relationship to buffer whatever is going on with him.
Chef Bai XiangWen- He is not my fav. but he has his positives. I love that Chef Bai is a cook and likes to spoil Ru Xie with his cooking. But what I find disturbing about this character is his skewed beliefs and values. His backstory doesn't match these introjected beliefs and that's confusing to me. He was raised by a a single mother and a very successful one at that so I would think of his character as someone who appreciate the resilience, brilliance and the hard work women put through. Instead, he is on and on about how men are superior...WTF. Tbh, that cooking show segment put him right there next to Vincent in my book because I can't stand men who think like him. The interesting part is he goes for a woman who is a lot like his mother but tries to dim her light. I am not surprised that Ru Xie feels stiffled in this relationship because he is controlling. I mean the poor girl can't even have drinks with her coworkers without him joining bearing in mind that he has already been in her space all day.
Duan Xu - I really like Duan Xu and funny enough, I didn't think I would but I do. I like his self awareness and realism. Yes, he can be a pessimist or plain cranky but that's due to his experiences. I really feel sorry for him, having such selfish irresponsible parents and I don't blame him for not wanting marriage especially seeing his parents. He is that character that I just wish success and pray his parents change since they are pretty much a curse to him.
Luo Shang aka Qiao Qiao Fake boyfriend- My ultimate fav. Male Character. On paper, LS doesn't have half of what some of the above have. But what he has and the rest don't have is he knows how to treat a woman as is with confidence. I like that LS is an open book, what you see is what you get. Also love that he goes for what he wants. Now he might be a bit corky when wooing you in the beginning but he also adjust once he learn a little about you. And the latter is the key to win a lady. He respect and compliment Qiao Qiao because he really values her. He is definitely crush-worthy. Did I mention that he is hot?? Hehe
i love Sam Lin's acting! i felt that when he said "would you?" in that bed scene. but the music was too loud and…
Talk about the music...That's why I prefer to watch some of the ep. on Dailymotion because they remove the music (I think for copyrights reasons) and it certainly improves the quality of some scenes. Like that bed scene, I watched it qith little to no sound and oh my, it was just beautiful.
Which is why I don't hate him but want to Slap him... But really WKX didn't kill or order to kill his family...He asked for the Luilija and the others resorted to kill to get it. You can say he is affiliated and yes Cheng Ling can resent him for that.
He is brainwashed by his stupid evil uncles that WKX killed his family. So out of anger, he has joined them to kill WKX. He is pretty much biting the hand that fed him.
Tell me that WKX didn't die, and that there is an happy ending for them. Please.?
Based on what the writer said...I believe we will have a Happy Ending. Even if WKX comes back with white hair, I will gladly take it...as long as he is breathing and with his Ah Xu and still flirting, then I'm good...hehe
anybody else having a hard time associating the characters ZZS WKX and the actors ZZH and GJ? after watching their…
Yeah, imagine that... Actually their characters are the opposite of their personalities in real life. Simon Gong is a little shy and doesn't talk much whilst Wen Ke Xing is the extrovert and flaunt it character. Zhang Zhe Han is more outgoing and fun whereas Zhou Zi Shu is more closed off and quiet. But they both nailed their roles and makes us believe the existence of their characters.
Yes, the Fake boyfriend is perfect for Qiao Qiao and I like how he is not even one bit faced by her success and…
Yeah Vincent is a jerk, but I got the feeling like Qiao Qiao had a "how could I be stupid cry" rather than "I've been betrayed by someone I love cry" She even told him later that he sees her as his competition therefore guard against her and that won't work if they were to have a relationship. I am happy it ended and now she can fo us on the one who seem to actually care for her. And did I mention the Young guy is hot?? No, okay...well he is really hot and so sweet at the same time...hehe
Yes, the Fake boyfriend is perfect for Qiao Qiao and I like how he is not even one bit faced by her success and…
She is now but still yet to figure her feelings for him. Well Vincent did her dirty and that woke her up plus she realised that it will never work between them.
I am absolutely in love with this drama too at the moment, and I'm glad that our thoughts are quite similar. Duan…
Oh I'm glad we think alike on this drama. Each girl is unique and carries her own charm and I love the fact that they all get equal screen time (except Qi Yue, well, is she really a main) so we don't forget each story.
Omg! This drama has stolen my heart. And to think, I started watching it just because...and now, I'm obsessed...huh These girls are so real. I like the fact that I can relate to them in some ways and even know someone who is exactly like one of them. At first, I disliked XiXi...I just saw a spoiled princess who thinks the world is at her feet. But as the ep. progresses, I began to step into her world and now I think she is actually funny and has her own merits (a little annoying sometimes though). And pairing her up with Duan Xu is the best thing in this drama (Lui Ke, WHO?) This begrudging pair makes me laugh every time. There is not a dull moment with them. And some of their problems now/in the future are pretty realistic too. Xixi is an idealist whilst Duan Xu is a realist. Now that's a combination...hehe
If I say XX and DX are the best part, then the magical part comes in form of Wen Ru Xie. Omg! this woman has so much wisdom. The amount of times I grabbed a pen and paper to write down some of her advise...wow And the greatest thing is she is not perfect and doesn't even try to be and yet she is a very wise woman. I have my reservations with her being with the chef. More like I don't really like him for Ru Xie because he seems to be judgemental, prejudicial and controlling to me. I noticed, how he called Ru Xie "casual" and questionned how HQQ can be friends with RX etc...And I'm thinking, what exactly are you trying to say or the meaning behind that. He seems to be the type with "I can tame you" vibe. I foresee some problems if this ship sails because with a clever woman like RX, it's only a matter of time before she starts to notice.
Then I like Hui Qiao because, weird enough I am a little similar to her style (no, I'm not a workaholic). Her story involves a blast from the past and a new young hot guy...hehe. The moment the new-hot guy (still learning his name) entered the charts, I knew he is the one for Qiao Qiao. The reason I never ship her with Vincent despite their similar lifestyle is that Vincent has the self-saving behaviour and maybe due to his upbringing therefore he will always save himself first at any chance. And we all know that doesn't work in relationships. Vincent sees Qiao Qiao as a threat/competition whilst Mr New-Hot guy see her as a gorgeous successful woman. And that's significant. The New guy brings in fun into Qiao Qiao but also values her presence. Whereas Vincent wants Qiao Qiao as a tagalong or trophy. And that won't do. Then we have XiaoYang, the youngest of the 4 girls. I really like her sincerity and innocence but then feels protective of her since the world can be harsh and many vultures ready to use people like her (sad but true) . We see that playing out when Qi Yue took advantage of her kindness. And I'm sceptical about Du Jiamu's intention towards her. Talking about these three makes my head ache because they are a very unexpected trio. Qi Yue turns out to be a delusional and a compulsive thief...wow. My only wonder is, what the Hell is this man DJ doing with these two girls. I mean, his words contradicts his actions all the time. Does he like XY= he acts like it but says no Does he like Qi Yue- he indulges her and says no So where does he stand....Dude needs to make up his mind and be clear with these ladies. (Btw, I like his voice, so soothing)
Wow, I think I have written my longest comment ever here but it goes to show how much I love and so invested in this drama.
I heard (don't know if it's true) that Sam actually drank alcohol and was a bit tipsy in that last scene with Yu. If so, he is definitely a great actor, to be able to remember all his lines whilst drunk. I don't even know my left and right after 2 shots...haha
I really don't like this. It's well-acted, the costume & set design is spectacular, the production quality great,…
100 percent agree to everything you said. Yeah that forced everything killed the mood for me. And it is very triggering as well to someone who actually had that experience and no, not in a glamorised way like in this drama. In this day and age, I'm still baffled by this portrayal. Non-consensual acts are a Big No! period. And might I just add, where and when are we ever going to see other couples like they advertised... So far it's a 2 mens show and quite frankly, I'm nolonger interested in them that much as their story is going nowhere. It definitely doesn't feel like the We Best Love I fell in love with in series 1.
At the beginning of the series, the BL elements are so strong, even with many dubbed lines changed from the original…
Yeah, I noticed that as well. It's like they are trying to say the latter ep. are a justification for the former eps. which makes little to no sense to me but any who.
But really, WHO SAYS I WANNA BE SPECIAL HENCE NEED A SPECIAL EP. eye-roll.
I just want an ep with a Happy Ending...that's it.
BITTER
ANGRY
LIKE CRYING
LIKE I'M GOING CRAZY
LIKE I'M DYING SLOWLY
LIKE WTH,
IS THAT ENDING
Help me understand...
