Just saw the Trailer and Oooh the swoon. The trailer just called me single, imagine that... One thing, I'm confused about is Reba's voice. I mean what happened? It sounds cartoonish...is it really hers?
Omg! Where to even begin?? I don't know. Talk about a woman's world, Tan'er fighting for her husband, A kiss spell and other hilarious hijinks...LoL The chemistry between these two is 10x electrifying. I swear Even if they recycle this drama and have 37 versions with these two, I will happily watch.
9/10 - A Rare Gem This is one of those dramas that come once in a lifetime but leaves an imprint... From start to finish, this story was captivating that I couldn't bear to skip a scene just in case I miss out. Seeing Dong Na's journey in the employment world and her coming out victorious still puts a smile on my face. I was cheering her on from the get go as I could relate to all her struggles especially coming from a lower socioeconomic background. Dong Na proved that with Hardwork, perseverance and determination, you will surely succeed and I'm so happy to have witnessed that. Ofc she wouldn't have done it without her nosy, talkative but utterly lovable mother, her all time supprter Gu Fei and other colleagues some who even became like family. I was in for Mother daughter duo and I got another little surprise in the name of Gu Fei. This man (where can I get someone like him again...LoL) went through a lot but his unwavering support and love for Dong Na was just beautiful. Even though their romance was not at the core of the drama, their support for one another was. Already miss this drama and will definitely rewatch if I need an energy boost.
One of the best slice of life dramas in the past year. Love the rhetorical exchanges. Am so in love with Vicky…
Yeah Vicky's Acting is formidable and to think she is still in adolescence... I wonder what I was doing in my adolescent stage...certainly nothing as impressive as her....hehe
The end with GF & DG conversation on the rooftop was heartfelt. I’d say this drama is easily rewatchable. Although…
Absolutely said it ALL. I will definitely join you with a bowl of popcorn to watch Dong Na and Gu Fei just chatting. Their dialogues are the best indeed. That last ep. was what they call: Saving the very Best to last. It was sooo beautiful and once again reminded me why I fell in love with this drama. I never skipped any scene until the end (it's a record for me this year) and now I'm already feeling the nostalgia. The rewatch factor is High for this one. Oh and I enjoyed our Commentary on this drama too, so Thank you :)
Yeah I echo everything you said. These last ep. have become all about Cheng Fan Yang and it's not that I dislike it but it's not what drew me into this drama. I really liked to follow Dong Na's worklife journey and the mother daughter relationship. And I also got to like her and Gu Fei too but seems all that's forgotten in these last ep. What amuse me though is that Cheng Fan Yang's predicament is everyone's business incl. Dong Na's family. They are even playing detectives to help her...hehe
Xiao Bai blames his stepmother for his parents breakup. But, only assumes his father was a mental weakling seduced…
Say it again! Right now I feel like slapping the day lights out of him. His hatred is so toxic and he dare claim to know her stepmother so well (oh please). Like you said, in his eyes, Fan Yang is the vixen that came, seduced his father and took him away from his mother. So she is the villain and his dad is a victim...tsk tsk He knows that his parents had broken up before Fan Yang came into the picture but they were keeping up appearances for his sake. So how exactly is Fan Yang a homewrecker...The one to blame is his father who couldn't wait until his divorce was cleared up before moving on so quickly but nope, Xiao Bai on see what he wants to see.
Wen Qi is so amazing. My absolute fav is the mom daughter relationship. I agree the dad is the absolute worst.I…
Exactly, this show is not about romance and that I appreciate. It's Dong Na's employment journey, her and mother's relationship plus other relationships which include Gu Fei and her co-workers. They are endearing right...hehe. it was akward but I expected that since Gu Fei appears to be such an akward goofball in this area. Plus it is their work relationship that they are about to breach hence the hesitancy. Anyways these two can just sit down and talk all day and I will watch since I enjoy their interactions.
I agree there is an age gap but more so in real life than in the drama and they know it. I think it depends on where your focus is on....if you watch their scenes as Vicky and Roy then you can't help to think of their real ages. If you watch them as purely Dong Na and Gu Fei plus knowing their story, then you might accept their romance. And really, I don't ever think they are gonna do anything else at all apart from those little hugs. After all, this is not a romance drama. I remember watching a drama with Song Yi Ren and each time I saw a romantic scene with her co-star, I always had an "WTH directors" expression because I thought she looks soooo young. Then I saw her real age, I relaxed afterwards. So really, real life knowledge definitely has an impact on how we feel but I have to remind myself that it's just a drama. Plus, I really don't think of anyone who could have played Qui Dong Na to that perfection except for Wen Qi.
29 ep. in and OMG! Wen Qi's acting is beyond a level that I expected.... Utterly brilliant. She is so so good that I sometimes forget I'm watching a drama. Her crying scenes had me weeping. The cry that always gets me is that one where you feel your chest tightening and you can't breath properly...that's usually when you're really hurt. And Dong Na portrayed that crying scene to perfection. Seriously who needs enemies when you have a biological father like that. What he did in ep 29 with the hotel room got me super angry. I'm glad that they left the romance arch towards the end of the drama with only hints in earlier ep. It allowed me to warm up to Gu Fei then Gu Fei and Dong Na. For what's worth, these two have some of the best dialogues ever. I'm not surprised at all that these two have feelings for eachother given the story set-up like how long they have known eachother etc. But also, given Vicky's real age, the romance is very minimal....yeah this is certainly not a hot and heavy romance storyline. In the drama, I'm seeing Dong Na a 22 year old and Gu Fei a 30plus year old falling in love not their real ages so I accept their romance. I don't know, maybe I'm strange but I actually find the akward hug endearing in a way given their characters. It reminds me of that hug with your long-term friend that increase your heart rate and you just freeze...whilst your brain is processing...whether you like this person or not....hehe
Same. I watched this primarily for WQ. She acts effortlessly but the whole cast is great. The daughter & mother…
Absolutely agree with you. Dong Na and Gu Fei's relationship is one of my favorites too. It reminds me of the leads in The Best Partner (Cdrama). In there, Romance was not part of the plot but their relationship was amazing to watch. And these two are like that. You know, I actually have a feeling that Dong Na and ChuNing will end up being the best of friends...hehe

I know right...she is one actress I feel can have a natural chemistry with anyone without trying. Contrary to what many may think or wary of, I don't think the main plot is of romance but the struggles of an employee of poor background and how she overcomes them. Plus her relationship with her mother is another main plot. So far I like her relationship with Gu Fei...with their banter and all. Even if they include romance, I think it will be very minimum as it's not the focus of the story.
I am watching this one because of Vicky Chen.... This girl is phenomenal. There are natural born actors and there are genius actors and she is Both. Plus I'm a sucker for mother-daughter relationship plots.
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST STORYTELLING DRAMA I'VE ENJOYED WATCHING IN A LONG TIME for this genre.... I never skipped a scene or dialogue and in this drama it's very important....e.g. Chu Chu just mentioned how Prince Jinyu and Jinli look very different from eachother as twins, and what do you know...we have a birth secret storline waiting to be revealed... And my go to person to put the pieces together if I'm confused or curious is Head Eunuch Qi...I know he is a villain but I enjoy watching him. His intel is top notch and his nosyness matches mine so whenever I wonder about something our Eunuch is also wondering the same thing...and best part is he goes seeking for answers or shall we say his minions whilst I just wait to see it unveiling.
Saw the eps, the trailer, a lot of kisses and I watched...hehe = I am simple girl indeed To the one who started the 16 episode drama era...Thank you. It's just nice to bingewatch something without fast-forwarding all the draggy scenes.
Hmmm... that rumour is false. Where did you hear that they are putting a stop to bl romances??? If you are talking…
Oh I hope so...Can I hold onto your word please. I heard it from this YouTuber I follow : AvenueX on her WOH review video. She is pretty reliable which is why I was bummed. So I really hope she is wrong this time.
I AM LITERALLY IN WORD OF HONOR LA LA LAND GUYS... And I really don't wanna get out because if I do, I will have to face the fact that it's over (not ready to accept that yet) and worse off that Chinese Gvt has just decided to put a stop on all Bromance/BL dramas (there goes my highly anticipation for Immortality).... So the moral of this statement is Reality Sucks so I shall go and rewatch WOH concert....again

I understand Mandarin so I watched it Raw.
