Really, I will watch ANYTHING Zhao Liying is in. She is the only C-actress I have all my humble respect for and for a reason. She gives her all in all her dramas plus there is something about her that is so effortlessly likable...maybe it's partly because of her background.. And she seems like a humble person in real-life too. I heard that she is also quite strong-willed and doesn't tolerate nonsense...now that's my kind of woman to look up to.

And naaah, I don't have time for that. With a lot of dramas to watch these days why drag myself into a 40 ep. drama that I know will contain a lot of filler than anything else...

I have watched the first 8 ep. and I pause there until it's finiahed. One ending I cannot fathom is an open ending. That type of ending drives me nuts so I will wait..huh
So far the 8 ep. I have watched are good

Well whatever the reason...I'm rejoicing for this now number of ep. (29 sounds so random though). At least we can avoid a lot filler or dragging in the middle. Moreover, this drama storyline is not really a 40ep one if they want to tell a good story really.

I don't know about the main actors. I mean who are they? Except for Pang Zi, I have no clue who the other two are. Not gonna lie, one of the reasons why I've followed the Lost tomb series is because of how Sexy Hot Qiling looks. Shallow, I know but I need to feed my eyes. The Qiling here is not really my cup of tea but I will give him a chance. Is he in anything else that I can take a peek to have a proper look when he is in motion rather than a picture?

I am surprised by number 1 but it just piqued my interest to continue it since I dripped it. Funny how I watched all of yhem except for the top one...hehe.

Oh boi, what a dilemma I'm experiencing right now. I love everything else about this drama but I'm not sure of the cast to want to watch it. The story of mature strong female leads is enticing enough to watch it but my hesitation lies with the cast. Vin Zhang did an incredible job in Rattan and it's probably my best performance from him in all the dramas I have watched. I feel nervous to watch him in this because I don't want my good memory of him in Rattan to be tarnished. Not that it will happen but, hey I'm still in Rattan reverie right now. Actually, I noticed Vin Zhang does dorky but nice guy character really well so if his character here is like that, I might like it. Now, I have not warmed up to Sun Yi's acting at all despite my effort. Yeah, I have tried since Siege in Fog days and other dramas following that but sadly her acting is still is not my cup of tea. And the rest of the cast, I have watched them in support roles but didn't leave an impact on me so the jury is out on that one.
Anyway, I think I will watch one ep and see how it goes.
I'm going through drama drought right now so this drama might just have good timing with me.

I'm on ep 4. and don't know whether to continue or stop. Is it worth continuing, anyone?
I mean I neither like nor dislike it so it's hard to judge. So far what I like is the overall acting of all characters. The acting is not the best, but it seems everyone is doing an okay job in their respective roles and that good enough to me. The friendships are so cute and adorable and there's chemistry between the leads. Another positive is this drama fulfills the nostalgic feeling of e-sports dramas I have been having lately. And that's it. What makes me hesitant to continue is I am not wowed by anything so far. The story, characters, set- up etc is not new so I don't feel the excitement.
Sigh...What shall I do...

Started and so far binged 8 ep. And OMG what a treat this is. I would call this a slice of life drama because it has so many relatable issues and things that happens in real life. I really admire RX's strong-willed and perseverance personality because she trully needs it.
Her mom is the worst and her friend seems to be all over the place so trully she doesn't have a lot of support except for ML.
And I already love the chemistry between the leads. They just click and complement eachother as RX and QX. Always have been a fan of FL but never of ML until now so well done.

I swear her mom acts like she is possessed. She makes me appreciate my mom who is literally a saint compared to her. Omg! My life would be doomed if I had her as a mom...

It is extremely rare in Cdramas to have the same cast in the se/prequels which makes me wonder why they continue with the drama at all. Because it will never be the same.
Nowonder I consider The Eternal Love a rare gem (and my one true love) for having 3 seasons with the same cast...

And the example I gave was by no means the model of Seduction. I said when I think of Seduction, these women come to mind as they are quite well known by everyone of every age range (except new borns, hehe). I can use my next door neighbour as an example but would you know her??? And yes you're right. Seduction of back then and now is different. But the thing is being a seducer is an individual skilled act. Some will show Seduction and it looks like madness and some will do it and it looks like magic. And in this drama it looked like cocky, that's all.
I respect every comment here and never point anyone's as "unwarranted". Which is why I got a bit peeved, no offence.

I didn't say FL should have been Marilyn or Audrey and neither did I say she should show seduction like in the medieval era. If that's what you get from my entire comment, then good on you. I simply said that FL lead act of seduction is not done well and looks cocky.

Yes and Yes, Cdramas always fail miserably to portray the seduction scenes. They forget that pretty or plain beautiful is not equal to seductive. Being able to be seductive is due to an aura and act one portrays. It is certainly a skill and not everyone is able to do well. The FL can't seduce a thing, unfortunately not because she aint beautiful, nope but her presentation and acting is not good enough for ot so it makes it look cocky. She could be good in other roles though.
When I think of Seduction, people like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn comes to mind....huh

Exactly! Why call it Ode to Joy 3 if you're going to change everything. Did they run out of names for a drama. What a way to anger fans of the prev. Seasons and cast.

I know right...Ziwei and Wang Kai chemistry is the one I will miss the most in OTJ so I'm p****d by this news.

I am not happy with this news unfortunately. Ode to Joy was one of those dramas that I went in for the story but the cast made me stay. Season 1 and 2 was amazing and will forever remember the brilliant cast.
Sadly, I am familiar with most of the cast here for season 3 and I am not a fan of their acting (not to say they are not brilliant) so I don't think it will work. I will still watch ep 1. with no expectation and who knows, I might like it.
I wonder what happened to the OG cast...Couldn’t they have just reunite for old time sakes???
