A BL in Kdramaland...Now this is a step in right direction ?

Never have I wished for a Cdrama to have more episodes before (well why would I as they all seem to have 30+ ep and end up being draggy). So I found myself hoping and wishing that they do a Season 2 for this fantastic piece. This has been a brilliant drama in my opinion ? hands down.
The acting, story and music has been great that I found myself humming at the end of each ep. whilst yearning for more.
The chemistry between the ML and FL is very natural and brilliant ?. Their eyes convey so much love and care, and when they're together you can just feel peaceful. Such a shame that they didn't have much screen time.
And the bromance is one of the best I have seen. The brotherly love is strong and they just get each other (so far in 18 ep.)
What I also love in this drama, is that apart from the apparent bad guys, there are so many good people as well so the hating pool is short on this one.
Well, I can go on and on forever about the beauty of this underestimated drama. Anyway I will be rewatching this definitely.

I saw that too and it appears like he stabbed Lu Ping...I really hope upon all hope that it's not the case or ot was just one giant dream nightmare or Else I will be devastated ?. Exactly as you said, that trope of turning friends into foes is so old and overused, so hope they don't do that.
If it actually happened, I have no doubt Xifan will come to regret it big time whilst Lu Ping will be heartbroken especially their conversation in ep. 14.

Wow, if you were doubting this drama like me then Ep. 14 will sell it. It's pretty damn good! I'm usually good at figuring things out in the mystery of the story but this ep. surprised me not only once but twice....wow.
I definitely didn't see that coming at all and I really liked the plot twist. Oh and the bromance is always the cherry on top...I got a little emotional.
I'm still on the fence regarding ML and FL chemistry and right now I'm like whatever ? since it's not taking too much screen time. As long as we have our Zhaifang fantastic four and their drunk money hungry shifu, then it's all good.

No need for the insult "You're blind" as it's disrespectful to people who are actually blind. Nonetheless, as you said, I'm entitled to my own opinion and so are you. I respect yours and I hope in future comments you learn to communicate better with others.

To even think I wanted to skip this one but Lockdown gave me time to check it out.
I'm pleasantly surprised...it's not bad at all. Every character is really good actually. And I already love the bada** FL.

Omg! Arthur Chen is back and I absolutely love him as Lu Ping. Once again he is the star of the show. He excells in this type of role. But I gotta say Su Tang has found a place in my heart. She is absolutely adorable and cute. Her admiration for Lu Ping is just beautiful to watch. And I love their relationship, I really hope they remain brother and sister throughout, just taking care of eachother. Any one sided love is not accepted, Writers!
The dynamic is giving me Ever Night dejavu once in a while...it's like Sutang and Lu Ping = Sang Sang and Ning Que, Qin Sang and Lu Ping = Moshan Shan and Ning Que
Talking about the female lead, I'm not really enjoying her character...she is not that bad but not good either, sometimes annoying, sigh... The jury is still out on her, maybe I will warm up to her as the story develops. Since she is paired with AC, I really hope her character improves and her acting pulls some weight not just serve as a romantic counterpart or just a pretty face.
Oh boi, my Pet peeve is when I hear her being called Sang Sang by that brat ? ...Each time I scream STOP! she can never be SS, there can only be one SS in my mind and ❤...lol (?
So far I really like LP and XF relationship, one is a lone-wolf and the other is a papa bear, ready to protect. I just hope upon all hope Xi Fang remains kind-hearted throughout, no jealousy or surprise villain.
Mo Lin, what can I say about this little assassin...he is cocky but adorkable.

I can just say this drama has the most awkward horrible kisses I have ever seen...? from the posture, technique, execution...just awful.
It's funny because Season 1 had really good natural kisses...
So here I'm like girl, didn't you get the good kissing gene from your mamma and papa...huh

Exactly and I always feel some type of way when drama adaptations doesn't repect the source material. This drama is based on a BL for f** sake so they could have just removed the BL part but leave the rest (at least The Untamed managed that). Inserting some female characters to insight some romance to hide the BL is just plain disrespect in my book.
So I quit after 12 ep.

Is it worth watching?
Based on the synopsis...It seems the emporor is merciful and benevolent and attempted to implement progressive Qingli reforms. Me thinking ? Not marrying his daughter to some stranger to appease his guilt, would have been the best first reform. So he pretty much started the ? and I hope he choose his daughter's happiness in the end. Again it's just my opinion ? based on the summary of the drama.

So breaking down the last minutes in last ep.:
It appears everything that happened was in her previous life and it came to her as a dream...We pretty much watched 30 ep. of her dream.hehe...Usually I'm like WTF writers but somehow I just let it slide in this considering what happens afterwards. I like that the reborn princess is ZLS. And the princess tries to correct some things such as treating her cousin with more respect and kindness (not yhat she wasn't before) and helping the 2nd leads to meet and fall for eachother from the start.
Although I'm not sure about the concept of the painting but I remember FJY saying it is his resting place so it befits that he pulls her into it when she saw him (again a little confusing)
Poor prince, he still has no chance with QC from previous to current life..huh

The best thing about this drama and probably what will make you watch till the end is the Main leads' palpable Chemistry. Also what helps is the main leads relationship is part of the main plot so the plot doesn't get too boring. ZLS and ZYC are so comfortable with eachother that they create this organic very natural connection onscreen and yeah, I often forget that ZYC is quite shy in real life. Talking about acting, Fu Jiu Yun is the star of the show, the acting is top notch. You can see his sadness, happiness, yearning, love, loneliness and even illness in his eyes. ZYC trully surprised me, and OMG that voice needs to be trademarked...the way he say her name...wow.
It's even better that it's just a 30 ep. Drama so the story doesn't drag.
My one and only pet peeve is the whole situation with face swap. So I had made peace with face swap right, but they kept on bringing flashbacks of previous her/face one after the other that it was distracting (sometimes relevant but most not really). Whenever I start to warm up with the idea of ZLS being princess, I see that other princess...really writers (well it doesn't help that the actress that plays the prev. princess was soo good and likeable). They could have also balanced it by showing a flashback with her sifu after the swap thus QC.
Anywho...I had to separate them and see ZLS's current character as is but also a princess....
But overall good drama and I will definitely rewatch it only to hear FJY calling Qin Chuan....Hmm Can that voice be my Alarm ⏰

Yes it is but it also makes you feel happy, angry and satisfied. It is that good. Each character has a purpose even the minor minor characters.

I have read few chapters using Google translate...it's actually easy to understand. If they follow the novel, the gal in red will not be Tang's main love but I'm not sure in the drama as it's China and censorship after all.
Anyway I still doubt that Tang's interest in the girl will develop any further because SZ warned him to cut all communication. Apparently some time ago, that girl's country/tribe was involved in a war with their nation which killed many people (remember SZ's nightmares in ep.1) so SZ hates them.
Sorry for not giving you a clear answer.

From the 12 ep I have watched it's very much Bromance (the 3 leads' chemistry is magical) based but honestly I'm still hoping to see those subtle hints of BL (a gal can only wish and if I'm not delulu, I think I have seen those subtle hints, haha). Now about Romance...well if they follow the novel then there shouldn't be I think. But so far there is this gal in red who has some interactions with ML (mostly comedy) and he starts to see her in a different light... whether that's just it or more, we don't know yet. I don't think so and ep 12 will give you an answer why.

When I heard drama, BL adaptation, Jackie Chan in the same line my immediate reaction was Oh Oh... (lol I don't know why)
So I went on to start reading the novel first, but then I thought to just watch a few ep. to see what it is all about.
Omg, to my surprise...this is my new addiction. Woah it's so freaking good, perfect even. The story, pace, actors, cinematography, directing.....everything just makes you want to keep watching. This is going to be a Joy Ride Everyone!
