I apologize in advance for the mini rant. It’s more I’m confused about writing patterns. There’s a storyline…
She is hitting him but not really hurting him. It's a way to show the audience that she feels comfortable / likes him enough to touch him a lot. Since he is her best friends brother, she hits him because that's what you do to siblings, but notice how the hitting turns into grabbing etc. I understand that it is not the perfect idea of "consent" and "respect" but romantic relationships are complicated and some people enjoy a uneven power dynamic.
After watching the ML in FIYS He did an amazing job! Definitely gonna check this out !!
I’m coincidentally watching both dramas together and the contrast between the two roles is really funny - bratty younger brother gamer who loves pink cat ear headphones vs sensitive artistic type.
Watched the first two episodes, so far it's holding up to the promise of the poster - the lighting is gorgeous and it's definitely got a interesting vibe. Agree that man bun is super hot. Her mother has an almost wicked but melancholy elegance to her which is fun. I'm glad I started this!
i thought Leo got injured on another drama not this one ? the one he was with Bai Lu ? but i might be wrong since…
I got the news from the "Marcus here" Youtube channel (very good for keeping up with C dramas). I think the first one was a leg injury couple of months ago (when he was in the wheelchair) and the second time someone accidently punched him on set. The xianxia drama with Bai Lu hasn't started filming yet. I didn't know who Leo Luo was until two months ago and now I'm completely obsessed haha.
How I loved this show. Slow burn, no dog's blood nonsense. Great chemistry & teasing between the leads. Just fantastic. Also the direction of the show is amazing, I normally don't follow directors but I want to watch more of her work.
i got excited while watching the trailer but the reviews put me off... help!
Don't bother, I can't even muster the interest to finish this at 2x speed. I skipped through most of it since it was so slow, but the leads chemistry got worse as it went on. I started watching it because the first episode reminded me of Perfect & Casual (which I loved - watch that instead if you haven't seen it yet).
Apparently this was filmed four years ago? Wonder why they sat on this for so long. Regardless, I'm hyped - the FL was great in Gank your Heart and at this point I'll watch anything with Gong Jun in it.
I love Luo Zheng after seeing him in Cry Me A River Of Stars. Started episode 1 of Make My Heart Smile and could…
Honestly, I would give this another chance if you like Luo Zheng. Yes, it's a little silly at times, but it's been weeks since I finished this drama, and I can't stop thinking about it. The leads have really great chemistry together, and he does amazing things with his eyes (reminds me of Luo Leo).
I can't get over that the FL thinks too much "screen time" is bad for grandma (she is in a nursing home, let her watch her dramas!!!) but is totally okay with wanting to use her as an test subject for an experimental medical technology. As of episode 19, I officially hate this show and regret starting it.... There is still no chemistry, the confession was lame, the script never sold the online relationship being worth a seven year wait. However, I do think the Twin is hot (love the overdone goth makeup.) I'm hoping this show ends with the Twin actually being a vampire and murdering the leads.
12 episodes in..."eh" My problem with the show is that the main couple don't have much face to face screen time (and when they do she seems not very interested in him), and the online texting is boring. Hopefully they will flirt more in the second half (crosses fingers that we don't get a stupid long breakup arc). Favorite part so far is the Twin Scientist & his assistant - they are extremely cute together.
