I never got around to watching The Wolf since I didn't know if I could handle Xiao Zhan as SML, now I have a reason to watch it while waiting for this to air.
(So many shows on my backlist, not enough time! arghh!)
She was dubbed by Zhang Hui Lin in Falling into your smile. Not sure if this is her actual voice in this drama.
For my limited understanding, Cdramas do a lot of dubbing for production reasons (quicker to film) and it's pretty common to overdub actor / actresses especially in idol shows since it's believed their acting skills aren't top notch, or their voice / accent doesn't match the character.
I personally love dubbing as I think it creates a really lush sound quality, but I remember being really surprised when I first realized the extent of it. It's why you can't trust comments that say "oh that person's acting improved"...it's probably the voice dubber.
This show has finally turned me into a Cheng Xiao anti. I'm struggling to get through this even though I love LYX - there is no chemistry and she still doesn't move her face like a normal person.
Later Edit: She was dubbed over in her previous works. I rewatched parts of Falling Into Your Smile (weird anti fan behavior haha), and I'm convinced that since her voice dubbing actress was so good, it's what brought a lot to that character's personality. She isn't dubbed over in this (not 100% sure), so her acting falls flat.
One quick question - Why does Leo Yun Xi looks so skinny in this drama? He looked much better in his previous…
Part of it is how they dressed him. In Love is Sweet, he is constantly wearing at least four layers (like wearing an overcoat indoors), Broker he had very thick sweaters and coats, and in his historical roles those billowing robes mask it as well.
Later Edit: After watching more of this show and seeing him in a four layer overcoat like in Love is Sweet, he does looks obviously thinner, but other people have pointed out it's from filming other projects. Plus ex ballet dancer + always been very thin.
i think her voice is dubbed bc her normal voice is a little deeper, if i’m not mistaken her real voice is used…
As feared, she is terrible in Lie to Love (no chemistry with Luo Yun Xi so far) . I actually liked her far better in this show, I think someone else said she might be voiced by Qiao Shi Yu?
I wish there were better resources to figure out dubbing. I personally love dubbing as it creates a lush ASMR effect for me, and I have a lot of respect for voice actors.
I'm only halfway through, but I'm really enjoying this. I love MLs that have an obsessive, scheming personality, I get that for some it would be a red flag but I think dramas are more fun when not only portraying 100% morally upright, blameless characters. Luo Zheng is really good at playing the pouty type too lol
I tried to find anymore info and there's is nothing yet. Last time the official weibo account posted was late December. (My mandarin / ability to navigate weibo is terrible though) Knowing C dramas could be a month or years haha
I've only seen one other Light On series (the Bad kids), so I don't know how it stacks up to the other shows - but I enjoyed the first two episodes. It's definitely nailed the suspenseful dangerous mystery vibe.
Chen Fei Yu is really great, and so are his side kicks. I think the this the first time in a Cdrama I've seen a cross dressing woman that is actually dressed like she is trying to pass as a boy and not wearing lipstick and eyeliner.
Watching this with the expectation to drop within the first episode, nope, they did so good surprisingly. Ended…
If you haven't already, watch Miss the Dragon. Deng Wei (the butler) steals the show and he has a really great love story. (you can skip all the main lead parts, they have no chemistry.)
Fake eunuch sounds like a really fun premise, and these two have proven to have great chemistry.
he's so cute
