I haven't started watching this drama yet . Is this drama recommended?? Worth watching??
Totally worth it. It gets better with each episode. Great acting by all the casts all around. The storyline is also really good.

Can anyone with a better memory than mine remind me if we were ever told why Yijin and Yurim became close in the…
We were only told about the sponsorship thing. Basically his family helped her out via the sponsorship hence she's grateful to him. In fact there seems to be a slight hint that she likes him early on until Ji Woong went after her.

I think all the leads deserve a nomination simply because all of them acted really well. I'm really impressed with bona's acting and have started watching her previous works.

The only clown around here is you Lol. Sounding as though the writer and the actors are your buddies and you know exactly how they feel and what they wanted lol. Quit daydreaming kid. you sound like a delusional person. You ought to go see a shrink.

I think you should learn how to read and understand English. I'm stating that your views doesn't make sense, get it ?
" Firstly, the writer originally wrote yijins's character to be a cold and Tsundere kind of character," -> Stop acting like you work with the writer or that you know him/her personally and you know exactly what he/she wanted the character to be. Lol. Talk about a load of nonsense. You are giving yourself too much credit.

Do olympic medalist receives a lots of money as a reward? Why yurim still poor?
Yurim is a world champion, not an Olympic medallist. A lot of countries don't really treat world champions with proper respect. They tend to favor Olympic medallist for whatever reasons. That is why you have a lot of world champions switching nationalities (badminton is a good example). I don't think Olympic was mentioned throughout the show, only world championships. I think hee do subsequently became a world champion too.

Lol the bullshit about the actors hating the script is so dumb. Without the writer there won't even be this drama in the first place. Not to mention all those nonsense about everyone including the actors hating the ending really makes me LOL. Anyone with half a brain would have known from the first episode itself that the leads won't end up together judging from the surname of hee do's kid. To think that the ratings keep rising because viewers are so dumb that they kept watching hoping for a happy ending is the stupidest thing I've read . Even if you didn't think the leads won't end up together at the start, you would definitely have known it by the end of episode 15 and yet episode 16 has the highest ratings in Korea. Some people seriously overestimate their own intelligence thinking that everyone feels exactly like them lol.

Title Twenty Five Twenty One Spoiler
No happy ending for main leads
Depends on what you define as a happy ending. There are 2 parts to the storyline. One is the female lead's dream to be the world's best fencer and a rival to her best friend/idol and the second is her relationship. Both has different endings (one happy, the other maybe not so).

Plenty of dramas with way higher budgets like hotel del Luna , memories of the alhambra where the leads didn't…
It doesn't matter whether the leads end up together or not so long as the story is interesting because people will still watch it. Not every drama has to have a fairytale ending. That's my point. That's why you have horror, comedy, heartbreaking (like this although I don't think it's 100% heartbreaking) etc etc type of dramas. Furthermore fyi this is actually a sports drama with romance being the secondary plot . Some viewers like you thought that it is a pure romance drama when it's not even that. The whole drama started with hee do wanting to meet yurim and emulate her. The diary literally started with "I go every saturday to see that kid ", which min Chae thought was hee do's ex bf but is actually ko yu rim. Lol. Didn't you people actually watched the 1st episode? It seems like all those who are upset over the ending didn't really understand the story or watch the 1st episode.

can you link me to where she said that
Wouldn’t it have been [viewers’] desire for their mutually supportive relationship to continue on until the end? And until marriage, if marriage was the end? If I was a viewer and not the actor, I would’ve support their happy ending too. I feel apologetic because so many viewers supported us. I’m sad too.” - she definitely didn't say that. People are just mistranslating her words to suit their imagination.

Lol she didn't found her dreams back through him. She found it back by herself after meeting yurim and getting snubbed by her. Why the heck are people making it seems like Yijin gave her everything when that wasn't the case at all. Hell even Yijin became.a reporter because that's what he wanted to do and not what hee do gave him/wanted him to do. Lol.

I really don't understand how you guys would think that the ending is inappropriate. imo it is the most appropriate…
It's the perfect ending. Maybe the breakup part was abrupt but other than that, hee do pretty much achieved her dream which she very clearly stated in episode 1 i.e to be Yu rim's rival. The fitting finale is Yu rim finally acknowledging her as her rival during her retirement. Another note is that the yurim-jiwoong relationship is a stark contrast to heedo-yijin relationship where the more enduring and touching one ended up together cause at least 1 party (Ji woong) was adamant to do anything it takes to make it work as opposed to the other relationship where both gave up pretty easily (for whatever reasons). Overall it was pretty well done although there are still some unanswered question (like why does hee do not remember the beach trip ).

Yeah. I think people just somehow expect that every drama that has decent male-female interaction to be a love story between them. Not sure why that's the case though lol.

The thing I find to be even more hilarious is how people are jumping up and down over the love-story part when this drama actually started off as a sporting-dream chasing drama. In fact if there was any love story I would have expected it to be between yurim-heedo because the first few episodes are totally focused on them lol.

altho many people are divided over the ending, i see many great comments about the ending with the same take as…
It was a great ending. I especially liked the contrast of the relationship between yurim-ji woong and heedo-yijin. You can see how enduring the love between yurim and Ji woong..heck even their soundtrack is much better. Save for some unexplained parts (adult hee do forgetting about the beach trip), everything else was pretty well executed. I also liked the fact that heedo and yurim finally acknowledged each other as true rivals-friends. Even from the 1st episode I didn't anticipate this to be a heedo-yijin love story but more of a heedo-yurim rivalry story. I guess people just jumped into the show expecting it to be an all out romance drama when it never was. Lol

I’m sorry, I really don’t agree with people saying “the ending is great because it is realistic”. I actually…
It's a freaking tv show not an autobiography. What do people expect ? Lol. Not to mention sometimes in real life, first love works and sometimes, they don't. I think the ending is decent but i do admit it could have been better executed in the sense that some things should have been better explained. Yu rim and Ji Woong's ending was perfect though.
