I honestly don’t get this whole ‘redeeming’ thing. What exactly did he do wrong that he now has to bow down…
I can't help how you're irrationally interpreting it. She only shares demon related things with WZS but literally the episode before was how she found comfort in MZY's arms. and that scene was a crux after all the conversation between Lady Liu about how mortals would reject you. That moment was her asking them to walk away for that moment and he made a choice. it's not about who's ONLY at fault--these characters aren't black and white. I find them layered.
I just think everyone categorizing characters as right or wrong are really not watching the show with nuance.

lol you don't think he should feel anything for choosing the demon world over her at that moment? and when did she trust WZS over MZY? she's been suspicious of him more and more.
you're getting way too triggered by the word redeeming.
No intentions of fighting, just curious, why do you think he has to redeem himself for choosing to enter the demon…
because all WZ wanted was someone to lover her for her. she's always like the odd one out in both realms. and that moment, him choosing the demon world over her felt like betrayal, like she wasn't enough for him to sacrifice for? i love stuff like this, because it hints at the next chapters being about showing her that he would sacrifice it all for her and that moment was a mistake.
Ok now that I finished ep 29, I can't believe how people are characterizing FL here. It's so obvious she's heartbroken and guilty and in PAIN that the power responsible for killing ML's parents lives within her, also add that he chose to enter the demon world over her (i can't wait to see how he redeems himself for that moment). like its so obvious how much they still care for each other by the end of this episode. But there are bigger driving force like the fire 18 years ago driving a wedge between them besides just their identity.
WHICH IS EXCELLENT because the build up to their reconciliation should give us some delicious yearning (even with amnesia? plot). I'm here for it all!!
Ok I'm finally watching episode 29 (half way through) and I must be the odd one out because them discovering each other and FIGHTING is so sexy. Like look at my two fave super powerful leads delivering true ENEMIES in love trope. Like the whole trope is done so well. and guys, what else was everyone expecting when a demon slayer married a demon lord? I'm so excited to see how they put love above all, including their duty. This angst delicious!
Reading through the comments and trying not to spoil myself (i've not seen any teasers) but so far MR is written well. if WZ is acting out of character then likely it's intentional or she's under a spell because she's too smart to be fooled by WZS. She literally and immediately slapped him for using underhanded tricks when he made it seem like they were alone together at Ruyi Pavilion in front of MZY.
Watching episode 24 and that wedding scene was so perfectly written! They did not skimp on any traditions or rush it, truly let the audience savor it. and the montage with the bows? hearing each other's perspectives and the audience witnessing how and why they both fell in love? chef's kiss! also adding the build up of the angst of the next chapter....we're gonna be in for some good angst that comes with a demon slayer and demon lord marrying!
Finished ep 23 and another solid episode! This one was about setting up the next arc as the big villains become apparent. but also that proposal scene!! we see why they complete each other and belong together as different as they are.
Ep 22 is so EXCELLENT! We get more insight into our reserved ML and why he's willing to sacrifice it all for her. The struggle between following his heart, being bound by duty, and learning to intertwine both. I don't think enough shows slow down to place care and detail to the art of romance but moonlit reunion definitely does. From the cinematography to the soundtrack to letting characters express and verbalize their emotions. so so good.
After a long time, I've found a show that has me binging! The slow burn romance has me hooked. Loving the plot and actors. The action sequence have me on edge and they're so well done. The chemistry, the art/visuals, cinematography, music -- everything is hitting the right spot!!
I love their chemistry. As for the kiss scenes, there are romances that can do without them, but that means the director, editors/post-production, and sound/music department have to STEP UP! The cut to the random leaves shot (like not even shamrocks??) from his apartment and back was LAZY. Could have given us shots of her hands in his hair, hands caressing neck/face. There's so much you can do to heighten their chemistry and physical intimacy scenes without needing to give us visuals of lips locking. Sometimes the lead up to the kisses are sexier than the kiss themselves, so I'm putting my annoyance on the production team.
anywho it's still worth watching because of how adorable and pretty they are. :)
Hey there, first of all, thanks for your kind words. I'm glad I've been able to share a part of showa history…
Definitely would not want you to translate anything you had no interest in! :) The one I was thinking of seems like a somewhat shallow rom com lol so I completely understand if you say "no" but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. It's this one: https://kisskh.at/685271-come-marry-me
Anyway, always look forward to your projects and thanks again for taking the time to share them with us!! :)
Hello! First of all thank you for subbing these shows and movies, especially the ones from the 1960s-1970s. It's so fascinating to watch an era that we otherwise don't have access to as foreigners. I have to admit your akai shougeki project led me down a rabbit hole of exploring other films and shows from the era and I was wondering if you'd take any requests for rom com films from the 1960s? Just curious & thanks again! :)
like literally wrote a handful of sentences on some thoughts, and y'all are flipping out like i wrote a thesis on the whole show.

Is ep 21 out yet? I need more!
