Episode 23. It's time to get some of those kisses we keep seeing in the beginning and end credits!😘Poor Prince…
I interpreted her mindset as her struggling with him gone / worried sick and avoiding the letters as a form of denial of him being in battle. i think it'll make more sense later when you watch the rest of ep 24.
I just finished the finale and what a gem of a romantic comedy! I have to say I was surprised how solid the writing was the last couple of episodes, usually romances this long fizzle out. But the last episodes had hot romantic moments and sweet romantic moments, comedy, action as well as suspense and some really crazy good romantic angst! That finale was perfect! It felt so wholesome with all the characters and I was laughing out loud by the end. Even the secondary characters were a joy to watch.
From start to finish, this show put women at the center and men who loved them for who they are and respected their autonomy and space. I really like how the writer fleshed out their characters and showed why they fell in love with each other, and dedicated time to them communicating.
It was also my first time watching the actors and what a joy to watch! Jelly Lin in the last episode DELIVERED--the snow scene?? I would love to see them paired up again.
These last episodes are so good! I’m on ep 24. The characters/relationships are still being fleshed out. This is definitely a show where you have to keep watching to witness character development for the pay off. And it’s worth it. Also def a romance that centers women. Some really great dialogues in the last stretch.
Here's what I'm liking about the last two episodes so far: - Lingyu making Lu Yun tear up during the confession scene.
- the way Lu Yun looks Lingyu. It's so obvious how much he admires and respects her for her courage, resilience, and independence and he vocalizes it almost every episode now! he looked so proud of her when she checked the Emperor.
- Lu Yun and Changyi both verbalizing over the last couple of episodes how their love interests freedom and respecting their decisions is important to them.
- Lu Yun and Lingyu looking very married as they collaborate
- Lu Yun being the unexpected softie to be the one doing cutesy stuff to make her laugh. & Lingyu being so happy!
This show is just so FEEL GOOD. like sure it never gets complicated but it delivers on fun and romance and no stress.
Up to ep 17 and I have to say my favorite bits are the moments where they slow down just to talk about life (like the bed scene). Those scenes feel so soothing and you really get to see how Lu Yun and Lingyu bond.
That ending for episode 16!!! Suspense, romance, and a beautiful message.
We’re also starting to see how much Lu Yun is also on Lingyu’s mind. Her dance inspired by his gift and her earlier memories at his place. 😌 can’t wait for the next episodes.
How is this so far?Any Triangles?any 2ml syndrome? ( that's a Turn off for me)I do hate the misunderstanding trope…
I’m loving it! It’s light but filled with all the right rom com elements. In terms of triangle, you have the prince interested in her but she befriends him to keep the crazy stalker away.
I don’t have any 2ML syndrome—2ML and her literally interact like 5? 6? Times so far. The character development focuses around the leads and so do the attraction between them. I am loving the main couple together. If you like a ML that delivers on playful banter with FL, admires her for her independence and turns into a dork around her, you’ll enjoy him.
He does. He's working undercover with one of the princes. People around him think he's an idle noble, just being lazy and doing nothing. But in reality, he's out to clear his father's name and is pretty skilled in martial arts, etc.
She wants to use the inheritance to restore the fortunes of her clan members who became poor when her parents…
yup! i was speaking irregardless of that, like personality wise they're not a fit even though the Prince seems benign and supportive of her. just his perspective alone on that situation goes against what Lingyu stands for.
I see why they paired release of 14 and 15 together for regular members for Thursday. 14 is more of a filler episode when it comes to the romance but fleshes out the characters for the next subplot.
Lu Yun noticeably stopped denying it's "love" when Changyi mentions it and his grandmother teases him about it. :) Then we also see why the Prince isn't the right fit for Lingyu-- betting over Lingyu, keeping her in the dark that the winner of the contest will be the bride...is the same as ignoring her autonomy and treating her like an object to be won. I saw ep 17/18 teaser and I love the Lu Yun clocks in how unilateral that is and keeps asking what SHE wants.
How is it her fault she got kidnapped? If anything I would blame the Prince’s security lol…Girl has done a…
Agree with @daenerys and to add to that: She was able to escape on her own, she knew she needed to rescue herself. She never gave up. But she's not superman; that last conversation summed up how she also has her limits too.

Everyone should and give this show a shot. It’s such an underrated gem!
They’re just so sweet together. 🫠
I’m getting hooked on the way she keeps putting Lu Yun in a trance every time. And he’s turning out to be such a loser in love. 😌
