I had to pause the episode to rant. WHAT THE FUCK IS SONG YITING’S PROBLEM?! Up until now she was a likeable character and then wtf?!!! What a selfish self-centered POS. She doesn’t even have basic human respect for Li Shiliu
I’m so sick of every historical drama these days having the FL run a shop and be an independent woman who doesn’t…
To clarify, I have no problem with a “strong” entrepreneur FL in modern dramas, but if we’re being realistic, that was impossible in a historic setting. But there were real ways to have influence and power and protect what’s important to you. And I think this drama did a fantastic job portraying that. To me, Manman is one of the strongest FLs I’ve seen in a long time.
In contrast, the antagonist female didn’t believe in the power of sincerity, and suffered a bitter end.
I’m so sick of every historical drama these days having the FL run a shop and be an independent woman who doesn’t need a man blah blah blah. This drama was so refreshing to me and I think had a really beautiful and timely theme of peace and diplomacy. The FL was soft like water, and that was what made her powerful and effective, and made her able to secure her country’s safety and prosperity. She always chose to respect and trust the ML, and he respected and trusted her in turn, eventually becoming completely of one mind, both putting service before self.
This drama is honestly terrible, yet somehow it got me to buy Tencent VIP and even the express package for the first time ever. I had to fast forward through the last two episodes though
IMO it’s kinda low budget but I’m loving it a lot. I kinda agree with the other comment that maybe people aren’t watching it that much because the ML isn’t that popular or good looking by generic standards . Not saying that to defend the dramas flaws, but yeah, maybe that’s why it’s not attracting that many views to begin with
Yeah, same. The dubbing is so bad, it doesn't even follow their mouth movements, and the audio is so low quality.
It’s a shame because I like both actors and the story is actually grabbing my attention. But it’s hard to watch when the color grading is so awful, the lighting is bad , and just the overall editing is sub-par. Oh well, I’m still enjoying it for now
God I loved the first half of this drama, but the ending left me quite disappointed. It was so warm and evoked genuine feelings in me during the high school part, but then in the last few episodes it started to feel overly preachy and trying too hard, which totally missed the mark for me because it was inherently inauthentic.
In contrast, the antagonist female didn’t believe in the power of sincerity, and suffered a bitter end.
I’m willing to bet money you’re a wealthy liberal with white savior complex.
