I honestly agree. I love cdramas but they honestly need to work on better stories. I have a lot of problems with Pursuit of Jade. Number one being: sheās a badass general who can defeat battle hardened generals with a lifetimeās worth of experience because sheās a girl boss butcher? Give me a break. They loosely alluded to her father teaching her in the past but never do they show her training. I practiced martial arts my entire youth, I have many friends who competed internationally and others who were stunt artists. When training for a competition, you train 6 hours a day 6 days a week and 2 hours on the ārestā day. For stunt work, you have to train every single day to keep in shape. Itās honestly disrespectful to martial arts that she can defeat these generals twice her size with literally nothing but āfeminismā. I also know someone who is a high ranking military officer and an incredible and successful leader. She works out every single day. Yet probably most of the male soldiers under her command could take her out in hand to hand combat. Thatās just biological reality. Fan Changyuās character is a caricature, which is a disservice to women, who actually have unique skills and can be leaders and change the world in our own way.
I was enjoying this show a lot until the fight scene where she killed the enemy general with the two maces. It was honestly such a turn off. It was like someone suddenly splashed me with cold water. Very little actual martial arts choreography, so unrealistic and sloppy.
Also, her drugging Yan Zheng was a bit much. I understand where shes coming from. He is a matriarchal husband after all. But I hope once she learns his real identity and capabilities, she has more respect for him and his ability to make his own decisions and protect himself.
Please please please Mr. Director, bring back the Goodbye My Princess Chen Xingxu! I fell in love with him then, but every drama of his since has been a disappointment. I have a feeling this director can work magic though and bring the best out of these actors who have the hidden potential!!
How is it? I have no explanation or justification for it, but I usually skip any dramas with Chen Feiyu. But the synopsis seems right up my alley⦠is it worth it?
At first I was expecting to rate this similar to Filter (a drama I really enjoyed), but Iām quite disappointed. I thought the game was going to be a bigger part of the story, but after the first few episodes, they pretty much never played it again. In the end, this was more or less aboutā¦nothing. Nothing happens. The premise was promising and interesting, but majorly failed to deliver.
is it goodbye my princess? I never watched it should I?
Yes, Goodbye My Princess. Itās a pretty frustrating drama tbh, and his character is not exactly a good person. But it made me cry so much, so I find it very memorable. If you do watch it, I suggest watching the directorās cut. It is slightly longer and provides more context that helps you understand him better.
I fell in love with Chen Xing Xu in GMP, but I feel like none of his dramas since then have had me interestedāuntil LBL, which Iām currently loving. Iām really glad to see he has another drama coming out and hope itās a good one tooš¤
Iām on episode 5, I think?? Loving it but hoping weāll go back to the game soon cuz those have been my favorite scenes, more so than the real life ones š
might be a quite unpopular opinion here... but i find men with the queue hairstyle quite attractive, and chen…
Ever since I saw Chen Xiao in The Palace Iāve been amazed by how well he suits it!! Like he looks so good and I prefer him with a queue than with normal hair š
Also, her drugging Yan Zheng was a bit much. I understand where shes coming from. He is a matriarchal husband after all. But I hope once she learns his real identity and capabilities, she has more respect for him and his ability to make his own decisions and protect himself.
