Thanks for the explanation. I still believe she was treated cruelly. Considering she was a lowly concubine, she was most likely forced to give her baby to the couple that needed a son. If she had been allowed to raise him, he would have been lower class, but it wasn’t a life or death situation. My family was dirt poor when I was growing up but my aunt was rich. She tried to adopt my younger sister since “you already have 4 kids and she’ll have a better future with me.” Give me a break. I’m surprised my parents didn’t smack her in the face.
