I don't understand why she didn't reveal the true culprit. There is no justification for the wife to kill Jianglai's…
I think there are pros and cons either way. Watching while airing made me impatient waiting for new Ep especially the ones with cliffhanger. I also binged the last 6 Ep, I would not go to bed without knowing what happened to LJL and how they ended šš¬
I don't understand why she didn't reveal the true culprit. There is no justification for the wife to kill Jianglai's…
It was wrong to commit murder period. The sister in law had been planting this virtuous abused wife persona for years. Sheās the one who got the concubine for the brother. Not that the hubby was innocent. Both the Duke and son abused the women in the household. Just like Wei KeJian, he was innocent of killing his wife, but heās guilty of abuse and almost killed her. These women couldnāt protect themselves. Yang chose to run away and hide. In the sister in lawās case, she has children and did what she thought she could to protect them. If LJL didnāt come along and became a threat to take away Dukeās title, she would let the hubby die a slow death with the poisoned coals. But LJLās article forced her hands. She tried to assassinate him and failed. So she had the other women kill the husband and framed LJL so her son would be the only heir to the Dukeās title.

That and they didnāt have any evidence against her. None of the other culprits admitted to or shared any connections to her. Most importantly, LJL asked RSB not to share it. When LJL hugged RSB and mentioned that his brother apologized, RSB started to talk about the sister in law. LJL said not to talk about it. He knew she did it too. I think they both wanted to protect the children. They lost their father, what would happen to them if they lost their mom. Yes by law, she should have been convicted.
I already watched Glory, so nothing is a spoiler anymore.Besides some good changes in her sisters, I cant recall…
Iād say the biggest character development would be RSB and LJL. Some people said the RSB was the same cold and calculating, fiercely independent only cared about Rong tea business. But she let LJL in, fell in love with him. Also went to the capital for him, (she actually left the plantation for her sisters to tend to )supported him through his vulnerable times. She didnāt a wouldnāt have done that for anyone else. The sisters and cousins development would not have happened so the influence from LJL on how RSB treated her family. Which also ultimately led to RSB standing up to grandma.
LJL remains the badass investigator fighting and upholding justice. But he also changed because of RSB, allowing her to see his worst moments. Heās always been on his own person, but now he wanted to have RSB with him. So he didnāt give up anything to be with her. He never wanted the Dukeās title and cray cray family anyway. Theyāre so well matched. šš„°š
The main reason the wife masterminded the brotherās death is to have her son become the heir. She attempted to…
Yes sister in law adopted the sisterās child to pull her to her side. Also the sister hated father and brother for getting her first husband killed, taking away her baby and making her married another man. She did it for her own revenge as well as securing a future for her daughter.
lol am i the only one who liked the last 6 episodes? yeah there was a bit of "look at how the other side lives"…
Did you mean cousin Ling and official Lang? Saw that when the first met during the YDC case. š¤£š¤£
I didnāt care for the Dukes family either. But I loved that this arc showed that RSB really cared about LJL, supported him during his most vulnerable times as he did for her when she was sick and facing storms. š„° She loved him enough to make sure that he get to choose a different path if he wanted to. While pining away at the ship hoping LJL would appear š¤£š
Could someone explain to me the role of LJL brother's wife in his murder?
The main reason the wife masterminded the brotherās death is to have her son become the heir. She attempted to have LJL assassinated and failed. She then manipulated the concubine and the sister in law to kill her husband and framed LJL. That way her son would become the only heir.
I loved the drama.... I have some things to complain about (like they forgot to close the Kidnapping case and…
They did close the kidnapping case, it was Xu Song and Jiang allowed him to do those things because they colluded on the Wei case. Even though JLJ only arrested and pinned the case on the Xu guy who worked under Xu Song. But he got XS later in the Wei case.
Just want to clarify something. ML didn't abandon his whole career for FL. He already had one that he made by…
Well said and agree! Iām happy that heās retained his career and didnāt give that up. They actually showed how the couple dynamics would work by how they solved the Xue case together. Also in previous Ep, LJL had his men stationed outside of Rong, they only listened to him, not RSB. š¬š Even the scholar got to be an official and would have a career. I think the married in rules would have been updated under the new era with RSB. RSB and her cousins would not force MLs to give up their own careers or ambitions. They just leave all the tea business to the Rong women. And have their kids named Rong.
Does she deserve LJL? Now thatās a different discussion. But I just wanted to point out her characterās motivations…
Agree š part of LJLās charm, as his mentor Xu said. Heās world wise yet not worldly, sophisticated yet naive. To me, heās also pragmatic yet idealistic. Different personalities, priorities and perspectives. But their convictions to fight for and uphold justice is a shared value. I hope they can work things out.

I enjoyed this drama tremendously. Very different type of FL and ML. NZ and Neo did very well here. š
