Thanks for the reminder, yes I think RSB already suspected her father and his new family. It’s clear why she sent YunShu there to investigate and then follow her to the capital. Not clear if she’s going there for LJL at all. Only steward Cheng’s guess. I’d like RSB to prove me wrong in the last arc that she’ll actually fight to get LJL back because she loves him, not because he’s just her favorite pet.

My guess that RSB told Bai that YunShu didn’t really try to kill him, she actually arranged to have him saved somehow. Because YunShu was not surprised that Bai was alive when she saw him. She also said to him that she should have been more heartless or ruthless in her treatment of him when Bai was goating her.

I think RSB didn’t tell LJL because the plan was dangerous and he might stop her. But mostly it’s because she’s protecting him. She did not want to implicate him with fraud and fake death. Our righteous LJL could be ruthless towards criminals. But he felt guilty even presenting the fake book in court. RSB didn’t want to him to comprise on his ethics to help her. Scholar is morally gray himself, even though he’s a good guy. So she felt she could use his help. That’s my take on it.
