They’ve done nothing much to save their parents and sect. First for believing the wrong people their brother XQS killed. Then they arrived late to the party and did nothing to save their people. They blamed everything on XQS and left. They didn’t care about the people only the name of the sect. They don’t deserve to lead the sect. XQS stayed behind to give them proper burials and cleaned up the messed. No wonder everyone there was so happy to see their youngest master. He treated everyone equally and with kindness. Unlike the eldest, looking down on people and see them as tools. He was only mad that the team he developed over 10 years was destroyed. He did not mourn for the individuals who made up the team.

My guess is Xiao sec eliminated the Bai Cao sect which was believed to be producing those super soldiers pills and selling to the Bai Huang enemy country. And Liu is one of the survivors from that sect. That’s why he felt a personal vendetta against them. I think his sect might have been framed. The way he touched the pill and wanted to learn more about it. 🤔
