Throw the whole rating system away. The fact that this is rated the same as ITSAY is NUTS!!! While it wasn't the worst series I have seen (still goes to Bite Me), there was literally zero chemistry between either leads. I didn't believe anyone with all that confessing going on. I love Perth and Chimmon individually. But this ship is NOT it. They look like bros hanging out. They look like they make the best buddy team, but they have zero chemistry. I didn't believe Phuwin/Nueng, when he was crying after Pond/Palm got shot. Not a tear to be seen. Phuwin desperately needs to take several crying workshops. Maybe the great Gun Atp can run it, cause yeesh! Everybody took turns overacting and then underacting. Normally I love Perth, but again, he overacted so badly in that hospital scene. Poor Pond being shook to death by Phuwin to demonstrate the despair that would show up on his face. Sigh... Where did Palm's father go? Why didn't he come back? He abandoned his teenage son the handle to guy who killed at least 2 people and seriously injured another!?!?! Then when that son is shot and injured badly enough to be paralyzed, he is still a no show, even when that means that the family he held above his actual son had to take care of them?!?! Someone make it make sense. The blantant box undered the pants legs...like who edited this? Then to have Palm leave for only 3 months and there is zero resolution on him leaving 'for his own good'. Just 'don't do it again!' Huh?!? What exactly is Nueng going to do? Help run his families company, help run Palm's bar or go study music abroad. All while haven't yet graduated high school. HUH!?! And its rated WHAT!?! Well I guess that ends the rant. I cannot fathom how the score for this is even close to ITSAY or Not Me. Ludicrous! Higher than KinnPorsche!?!? Huh!? WTF!
This wasn't nearly as bad as it could be for the low budget and newbie actors and the horrible subs with poor writing. 🤣 I still need to know what happens with Matteo and Shogun, BurgerKing and even the brothers cause they finally said concretely in the preview for the next season, that they are stepbrothers. Something that should have been said repeatedly during the show just to drive the point home that they are not blood related. Mostly I need morr BurgerKing, who at first because of their baby faces was the pairing I wanted nothing to do with. I like that show is talking about things that get ignored when it comes to teenagers and sex/relagionships. 1) that teenagers are gonna have sex and its likely not going to be in safe places with condoms tucked in draws for easy access. 2) that sex is a huge responsiblity and you shouldn't partake until you are both mentally and physically ready as well as ready to deal with the consequences. 3) Nothing is black and white. That teacher is equal parts evil and good. Mostly she pisses me off, but as an older person, I get her frustration with all the shenanigans. She needs a better way of dealing with it than being a bitch though. Yes its all over the place and the editing is crap, but it has just enough good stuff to keep me intrigued, so I will tune into next season.
Oh I have never been so sad for a show to be over. This deserves the popularity that 2gether got and more! Gemini amd Fourth need to surpass BrightWinnin popularity and fame. I said what I said. Don't get me wrong, I loved 2gether and as one of the gateways into BLs, it was amazing. But that show benefitted greatly from the pandemic. MSP was a better story, was better acted and had better singing by the leads. I was so nervous for Gemini and Fourth's kiss cause a GMMTV kiss can be hit or miss and is usually miss. But it was great. I even liked Win and Sound's kiss even though I never bought into them as a couple in the series. I cannot wait for Our Skyy for MSP.
Khaotung's acting was top notch as always. That last whispered, Let's eat was soooo very painful to hear and see. I felt ever piece of his pain. One thing about this show, nobody can take a clue. Alan couldn't get that Wen had moved on and the breakup was ifficial, Gaipa ignored the million times Uncle Jim was rejecting him. And even Wen needs to back off and let Jim miss him a little bit. Although Mix is killing it with the sexy, sultry flirting. That scene by the boats was great acting wise, but I need Wen to stop throwing himself at Uncle Jim, all these rejections are giving second hand embarassment.
Sound problems from last week, except for Earth's sighing were fixed, at least I didn't notice them. Mix and First, Gemini and Fourth are killing it. Both scenes with First and Mix were brilliantly written, acted, directed. This stepped away from 'boys love' and just became a very complicated depiction of when love leaves a relationship. Then came Gemini and Fourth bringing us back to BL with that lovely coming of age, new love, first love scene by the sign. Then they showed us they are going to be an entire problem in future series with top tier acting. I often dislike when non (fill in any disability) portrays someone with a disability. It cannot be helped sometimes and because this is primarily a show case of Gem and Fourth's acting, I get why they went in this direction. This could have been portrayed sooo badly by Gem, a newbie actor. I honestly think it would have been awful outside of any other director than Aof. But Gem's commitment to portraying someone deaf is amazing. It was so visible on his face the frustration of everyone talking around him, about him but not including him, not like Li Ming was. Gah, and then tears. Simply not enough can be said about their acting abilities. I am not sure if I am frustrated by Uncle Jim or Earth's portrayal of him, but his repeatedly telling Li Ming to stop, and pulling his arm felt off to me. His sighing in frustration but never really saying anything but then also looking surprised and upset when whoever he is talking to calls him out on his BS. I simcerely cannot tell if he like Wen. Which is why is was soooo fruatrating (literally the only thing that bothered me in the entire episode) when Wen showed up to Jim's house. I needed Wen to go live on his own, figure out what he wanted outside of Jim and then make that happen. His constant calling despite veing ignored was too much. And when Jim embraces him when he literally has ignored 50 + messages made no sense. Same with Jim going back to get the loan from the same bank, bank officer. Why would he go back, it made no sense. This is definitely up there with ITSAY and Not Me for great acting and directing. And next week, we get a kiss!!
"does he take the time to understand what Hira wants? WHY he thinks like he does?"The answer to this is an obvious…
See this is why I think Hira maybe on the spectrum, because he says he doesn't understand why Kiyoi feels the way he does, even when it was kind of clear toward the end of Kiyoi's speech. But no, I blame them both. Kiyoi never asks how Hira feels. That is why Kiyoma pointed out that he was leeching off of Hira. He knows and loves that Hira obsesses over him, takes care of him. But in a healthy relationship, they should be taking care of each other. But not in a way that we want, but in a way THEY want and need. Case in point, when Kiyoi takes Hira shopping for clothes. Hira had zero desire for a new wardrobe, let alone the clothes Kiyoi forced him to pick. He never asks Hira what style he liked, he just dressed him as he saw fit. Hira went along, because he loves Kiyoi, and probably doesn't care as much about clothes, but he still never really had any say. Part of that is his fault for not advocating for himself. But Kiyoi takes some of the blame as well. Another example is the soup incident. Even though Kiyoi messed up and thought Hira shouldn't eat disgusting food, Hira was sooo happy Kiyoi did that for him, he didn't even notice it didn't taste like it should. Hira was genuinely hurt he didn't get to eat it. Kiyoi did not consider Hira's point of view and never does. They both need therapy to build empathy for one another and themselves.
Oh man this was so good. Hira is emotionally stunted (honestly he has to be on the spectrum), so he cannot deal with others emotions let alone his own. His absolute confusion on why Kiyoi would be mad at him not wanting to meet his family was so well done. He spent the whole episode warring with himself, vasilating between how wonderful Kiyoi is and how he doesn't desrve him to panicking at the thought of not being with him. Him trying to form himself into who he thinks Kiyoi wants and deserves but at the same time, you could tell he was on the verge of telling Kiyoi he didn't want to be a photographer. He was close to voicing his opinion, but Kiyoi interrupted him. No one ever asks what he wants. Even Kiyoma, who comes off as 'understanding' Hira, so why would Hira know. His parents gave him a camera, not because he liked taking pictures, or he asked for it but because THEY thought it would help him. Social emotional development happens by spending time with PEOPLE. How was Hira supposed to learn to 'people' if no one ever interacted with him? His speech problem isolated him from his parents amd his peers. It made it so that others treated him like he was lesser than. So of course he believed it. His own parents didn't/don't seem to have time for him.
So WHY on Earth would Hira believe that someone who looks like Kiyoi, is loved by EVERYONE and is on his way to actually being famous, like someone like him?! Its all so tragic and they are both acting so well in this. Kiyoi seems like the victim in all of this and I will admit this has to be so hard for him, who just wants to love and be loved. But as Kiyoma points out, he is selfish in many ways. He KNOWS Hira will kill himself to do whatever he wants. But does he take the time to understand what Hira wants? WHY he thinks like he does? I truly wish this was regular length and not 4 episides because it could better explore all the complexcities of this amazing show and characters.
Man, this episode was bad. I rolled my eyes a million times watching this. I almost wonder if they filmed this episode first, because I truly feel like Pond and Phuwin had more chemistry in the first episode then they did in this one. Phuwin was kind of pulling his weight, acting wise, especially when he has to display anger, like in the scene where he realizes that Palm thought about killing his mom. He delivered that well...until it switched to him softening for Palm and their difficult situation. Then it was an awkward embrace and unbelievable lines of loves...Palm acted like he was with a buddy instead of someone he would literally die for. That dinner/dance scene was the most unromantic thing I have ever witnessed.
Acting wise the only ones delivering are Nat and Perth. Kit is a scary bad guy, his reasons/motives are as old as time, so therefore they make sense. That scene with Perth/Chopper was the best one in the episode.
Someone tell me if body guards means something different in Thailand then anywhere else, because literally no one is good at bodyguarding. Tanya should have at least 2 guards in front of her room alone. When Nueng is there, there should be a minium of 5 watching the doors/exit points. When Palm was taken by Kit's men, he had so many opportunities to put up a better fight than he did. The wash bucket alone should have been used before trying to escape. Just making a run for it when you are literally surrounded is an amature move. Its not something someone who is trained in fighting and is supposed to be a body guard does. Also, why was there literally no one watching Nueng while at dinner? Like not 1 extra guy? Palm doesn't go with just for shits and giggles?!? Sigh...I was so glad when it ended. I only want to see the end because I have a feeling its going to be Chopper to the rescue and that should hopefully make up for the turn tnos show has made for the worse.
Hey, Tss! It's been awhile!Once again you summed up my experience.I think the main thing that stuck out to me…
Hehe, yes, I second that begging ThaiBL Fan to sub this mess. I have never quit a show, even Physical Therapy or Lordt, Bite Me. So I will probably watch to the end, but man I thos gets vaguely better. Thanks for the Warp Effect comment. I figured I would get lots of push back but if I did they kept it to themselves, which is good! 🤣
No clue who I am routing for in the Shogun, Matteo, Ken mess. Matteo treats Shogun better overall, but I think Ken truly loves him. What I like about this sblhow in general is them showing how confusing the teenage years are and how most teens make it all worse by either trying to hide or by exposing others. This last episode was a perfect example of that. While I hate how Ken's current girlfriend is behaving, she is reacting lile a typical teenager. Exposing her boyfriend after finding out he wasn't faithful. I would bet money she was thebone who sent the clip about Prim too. She must have found it on Ken's phone at the same time she took the screen shots. She hates her, which is understandable, from a teens prospective. I meam heck, she is even discriminated against because of Prim (although full blame goes to the teacher who is the absolute worst) I have nonidea what to think abou the brother storyline. Its freaking weird and while THANK GOD they sort of clarified they are step brothers or adoptive brothers (it was only clear they weren't related by blood), this whole storyline is just yuck. Less of this please. I miss BurgerKing, the least problematic.
Hey, Tss! It's been awhile!Once again you summed up my experience.I think the main thing that stuck out to me…
Thank you so much, Lenny!!! Good to hear from you again!! I hope all has been well with you. I had actually thought that was the drama I was supposed to be watching but the patch work story telling had me questioning if I just stumbled on one of those I may have missed some new drama trailer coming out and got the names mixed up. I am usually very up on all BL coming out so I was worried! 🤣🤣 But really this helped, but I am worried cause this has potential for a low budget production, storywise, but it looks like whoever produced this and screen wrote this took a shortcut that was not needed. Between what is being lost in translation and what is being lost writing wise, this does not look promising. As always, its nice to chat. See ya around!
Things going for this show so far. 1) Nice production. Feels and looks like a fair amount went in to this. 2) GORGEOUS actors. Everyone on is pretty, all the eye candy you can get. 3) Possibly a good story but...
Things its got going against it
1) Ummm, what the heck is going on? For all that budget, they skipped out on the writing/direction, because I have zero clue what is going on. And not in the ' suspenseful story that is going to lead you on a roller coaster ride of emotions' way. It feels lile that was what they were going for, but left out WAY too much of the story to make it work. No clue who anyone is, who they are to each other, why they were being chased in the forest. How the HELL they survived falling off that cliff. Who is the mysterious (really pretty) man who keeps saving him. What triggered him to cry so hard. Why are there NEVER tissues in a Thai drama when crying happens? Who were the people grieving over Din's maybe body? Who were the 2 dudes who came in to tell him Din was dead? What are they to each other? Who were the men getting beaten up in the end why did they deserved to be beaten and then blown up? Who walks so slowly away from a bomb they created?
I sure there is more, but man. Despite all the questions and bad subtitles, I have just enough interest in what may be a good plot to give it up (not that I ever stop a series, even if its Physical Therapy/ Bite Me bad). Here is hoping it gets better storywise and subtitles wise.
The way every single one of these actors are showing their range right now! Sheesh! First was in this show for like 5 minutes and delivered like nobody's business. When he walked away screaming in frustration, gah, I FELT that. His eyes look so desperate, and sad and angry as he watches his relationship end. You can feel his struggle to understand why its happening, and how he can get it back. At the same time, watching Wen be so enthralled by Uncle Jim to barely tolerating Alan's presence. Chef's kiss! This whole show, especially this episode, it doesn't even feel like these are people acting for our entertainment. When the show opened with Heart and Li Ming being so incredibly intimate with one another, I felt like I was looking in a private moment, not a tv show. GeminiFourth's acting in this is so completely different from MSP, I cannot say enough about how good they are. I still have questions that I pray they answer soon. Why are Alan and Wen breaking up, what did Alan do? What is Gaipa mom sick with and is she dying? Why can't Uncle Jim move on from cheater boyfriend guy? What happened to Li Ming's parents? I pray we get answers soon, but over all, this is a 10 outta 10 for me.
Hira being still obsessed and weird about Kiyoi is perfect because people don't change who they are over night or even over years. This is about them both trying to slowly change for each other, but it also has to be a problem. Hira even realized he was being like his old self but idolizing Kiyoi. Real people don't always change. Real people repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Real people are weird as hell! Both of them are weird, and that is great. Give me awkward and cringey sometimes, cause not everybody is 'normal' and they still deserve love. And I LOVE the fact that it was Koyama who pointed out that Kiyoi was taking advantage of Hira's love for him, because Hira would NEVER see it as a problem. He would happily take care of Kiyoi for the rest of his life. And if that made him truly happy, which it seemed to, then good. But having Koyama point it out amd help guide Kiyoi showed that 1) he is a true friend to Hira and 2) that he recognized that Kiyoi is just as weird as Hira, just in a different way. He had the recipe ready to go, so he understood that even just telling him to take better care of Hira would have only sent Kiyoi in panic mode. He needed a recipe to start with. Even if it didn't work out because Kiyoi is even worse than he thought. 🤣🤣 Kiyoi and Hira are perfect for each other and I want more than what tbey are going to give us.
That was amazing. The acting, the cinematography, the writing. Everyone was great. Earth delivered this week. While I liked his acting in the last 2 eps., I thought Mix was better. This time, it was a draw for me, maybe a bit more in Earth's favor. His anxiety for Li Ming's future, for his own, came across is every little sigh (right into the mic, and it drove me nuts, but it helped capture his feelings, so I am trying to ignore it), every frown. The longing and indecision in his eyes when he looked at Wen after telling his story. Notice he never answered the question about whether Wen had a chance...
Poor Khaotung! He was trying his best to hit on Uncle Jim and the sad part is, I truly think Jim gets that he is into to him. But he is older (its unclear by how much), and obviously not into him. I hope he catches a clue and moves on. I mean, I get it, Earth is hot as hell, but move on, baby.
But let's get to my favorite part/ship (in literally everything apparently) GeminiFourth. The hold they are beginning to have on me...its kind of unfair. They are definitely going to be a problem. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing to the eye (especially Fourth, his smile should be illegal), but they can ACT. The little side glances, touches, smiles. This is the perfect example of first love feels and I am pretty sure their story is gonna hurt (cause how can Li Ming go overseas if Heart cannot leave the house...) praying for a happy ending!! Throw in the fact that they can genuinely sing (unlike most GMMTV stars) and we are in trouble. I cannot wait for next episode.
Who was the terrorist who complained about the sighing? I hadn't noticed before, and now I can't NOT hear it,…
It might have been me...sorry! 🤣 Its so bad though, especially this last episode. All that angst, right in our ears. And I agree wholeheartedly about this episode. It was again me who felt Mix was better in the forst 2 episodes, but I completely agree he delivered this episode. Honestly they all did. Gemini and Fourth are going to be a problem in the future. They honestly deserve all the hype and attention BrightWin got (and currently still get) with the actual skills to back it up.
I think Chopper only knew his father was greedy over the hotel, but didn't expect his father would go that far…
No one said experienced detective. Just do something, even if it was to just tell Nueng, I will help. If Nueng can take over his company, then Chopper can find someone to get help with his dad. And yeah its hard, but I would 100% tell on a family member for murder, even my own kids. Taking life is the most heinous act and no one should hesitate to do the rigjt thing just because its hard.
Where did Palm's father go? Why didn't he come back? He abandoned his teenage son the handle to guy who killed at least 2 people and seriously injured another!?!?!
