I know right? I mean it's one thing to tweak the storyline, but another thing to complete off a character that is alive in the webtoon...

Isn't the multiverse thing going to be anime as opposed to live action?
If they do take that route and rope in kim nam gil, it could be the korean avengers. A pretty ambitious venture but could be the next big thing for korea

I think they are making an anime as part of this universe. Terror man is the name i think.
But for another season of island, we will have to wait and see.

I saw people on instagram and twitter making a lot of noise for another season. Literally all comments under tving and studio dragon's posts are about another season. Lets see whether they green light it.
Plus according to the korean herald, island topped amazon prime in 17 countries so that's a good thing as well.
Kim nam gil has the rights to the webtoon (his company i mean), he can go for it. And if they are thinking of making yohan the main character and ending van's character, that won't work since people came for the trio and most importantly, for van. The show would not be a hit without kim nam gil and his acting

Johan isn't half demon. If he were, he wouldn't be able to touch the objects he uses. He's got powers and probably had them for some time now. He's a special excorcism priest which probably means he was trained to harness the powers he has. Plus his power is blue, not red like that of the lust demons.
Mi ho defended herself pretty well against the monsters but thing is, Mi Ho's power was never going to be more than creating a barrier and blasting demons away when they get too close occasionally. She was never called a demon hunter. She was just a vessel with a special marble that lent her power to create a barrier. But if they make another season, they can show more. Like mi ho asking butler chang to train her to fight evil and then she can help van overcome his lust demon.

Gungtan was brought back because van kills lust demons and the white robes need the lust demons. And they needed gungtan to destory granny's children i.e the statues protecting the island. The man that yeom ji met when she was young had said that they will need her to bring the darkness back. That all the ones she cares for shall have to be brought back. She cared for both gungtan and van so they will be a part of the darkness that comes back. Gungtan could not overcome his lust demon but van always had more control over it even without the marble piece
The barrier mi ho created didn't kill van and gungtan. It was already stated that the reason why wongjeong had hesitated to create the barrier was because both van and gungtan had been in full lust demon form. But the marble fragment had turned van human, preventing him from being sucked into the void. However the second time around, both were in lust demon form which resulted in both getting sucked into the void. Now that the barrier has been cracked, they will most probably come back. Now whether they are lust demons fully or partially remains to be seen.

I disagree with that too. It was a well written show. Excellent world building. Its only the ending that disappointed me

We may have another season. Plus this was the first season split into two. Several kdramas are being renewed for another season

The comments everywhere else are generally positive. MDL isnt very reliable when it comes to reviews.
I feel like a majority of the watchers commenting here aren't really a huge fan of fantasy but i could be wrong. Most of the things were explained. And as long as they make another season, hopefully the rest will be too. In hellbound literally nothing was explained but people still liked it because the ending promised another season and then boom a few months later we are surprised with news of another season

Yeah. Even squid game's maker said he didnt want to make another season and then another was planned because of the fans. Hellbound had an open ending but it was only a couple of months later that another season was announced

If van was truly sick of living, he would not have cried at the thought of being sealed, he wouldn't have told gungtan that he's desperately trying to live as a human. I don't buy it. Van's last thoughts were of mi ho. He wanted to live as a human next to her.
The makers can easily bring him back. It's not impossible, there are enough possible plot points to do so

We should comment on every post studio dragon puts up on Instagram that we need another season. It is criminal to end it like that

The marble was mentioned pretty early on in part 2 though so i wouldn't say it was thrown in. Plus obviously there was something in her core that was giving her that power so i did not think it was necessarily that far fetched

The next season won't be announced so soon lol. Squid game and hellbound had seasons announced much much later. Even all of us are dead was confirmed for another season a few months after it had aired.
