Because it's an adaptation, in western one, it happens that way. The kids remember the murderer's minty breath. That's what different between western style and kdrama style. Western type of writing is anything is possible, but people still in awe with it, but when it's adapted into kdrama/asian, people say it irk them. It's just like the villain in western, they seem to be so smart and powerful, but when it's the asian villain, when they are so smart and powerful, audience will feel weird. Like how come a crazy ahjushi like that can hack the whole NCI system?

I agree. Some people are just too ridiculous for comparing drama apple to apple. Stranger is not an adaptation and it's not talking about criminal minds. Criminal mind is talking about how criminals show their characters, their behavior, their motive, their past, their history, their cause and so on. It focuses more on the criminal. Period. It's not a story about the main characters' lives.

And seems that this is very american type of show, perhaps some of kdrama fans don't really like it is understandable since they like kdrama format. I honestly have been watching american shows too and i find this is a good show. I am used to american show. Despite some of it's flaws, it's not a big deal. Other kdramas also have their flaws. This show does not have that kind of fantasy format whereby the main protagonist can travel in time / communicate to the past or they can read people's mind to their advantage or they have brain surgey which cause them to have no emotion and single handedly uncover the corruption. I think those shows are not even real to begin with. This show is more relatable, it's a team work and there is no fantasy involved. Maybe that's the reason why my husband likes to watch it. No drama is perfect. Stop nitpicking it.

I mean, everytime i play stranger, he falls asleep in 15 mins, it just happens everytime so that i have given up asking him to watch it.

Even now he has been asking when is the next episode comes out? Maybe this type of shows is not female's cup of tea. Females expect romance which is weird in this kind of shows.

It's an adaptation. They are pressured to stick to the original plot. The writers cannot write the story as per they like. Of course cannot add more complicated plot that is different from the originals. Furthermore, it only has 20 episodes while western one has 13 seasons. The other dramas that y'all mentioned were written originally by writers. So the writer can write any plot they like. Just give it a break. 8.2 is not justifiable.

I agree that the romance in western show is so shallow and full of sex. It seems all about sex, i don't know, seems that feminism sometimes bring bad thing to women in this department, not that i against feminism, i like to have freedom, but some people take it too far and become enslaved by too much freedom such as free sex culture in the western and now it's also going on in Asia. All the western shows promote too much on this, maybe females have been brainwashed to take it lightly, but the funny thing women secretly enjoy it like that book 50 shades of grey lol, enslaved and abuse yet they think it's the romance, oh well. Yeah i agree we should have more good show talking about proper relationship and romance, our generation especially younger generations are lacking of. But i do think that it's better to focus in relationship in general, not only love couple relationship but also human relationship in general.
