I agree. But some of younger teenagers fancy this kind of r/s. So they really like goblin to have their fantasy fulfilled to get a rich sugar daddy who can give them everything they want without any hardworks. The writer is clearly smart and know the weakness of younger generations nowadays. No body cares about our opinions. U can see from the amounts of insults they are giving us when we don't have the same opinion like them. That's the younger generation. U can read on the internet how many girls resort to become escorts to get branded bags from uncles or doing many immoral things for the sake of money. Maybe my example is too extreme here. But u know what i mean right? Nowadays younger female generations are like instant generations whereby they choose over security and money instead of hardwork.

I get what PickyMcpickleton is saying. Maybe if the focus on the story is more about the supernatural being, for example if there is more character and plot developments on that supernatural world, it would be more interesting to watch. Maybe writer also need to explain with stories about why eun tak is the bride or some evil guys come to fight etc etc, explain it in a more complex plot. Instead the writer choose to spend 5-6 episodes talking about lead romance, as if the writer tried so hard to convince the audience that they are sooo in love beyond everything. (Btw i still find kimshin is too fatherly for her). That what she means by saying romcom disguise itself as something else coz the 1st episode was so action pack that it is unique, then suddenly becomes a romcom, it must be confusing for her and for some people. I also don't think it deserves a 9.3. It's just anither romcom i probably rated it around 7. Only The grim reaper character is different and unique here, although it's a bi similar with the grim reaper from arang & the magisterate.. As for the goblin, somehow i find him similar with do min joon character from MLFTS. Hope the next drama this write will do really taking about something else rather than romance only as fillers.

I know right. I was shocked and thrilled when i saw a new kdrama that was rated 9.3 before during it's first 4 fews episodes. I watched it and i feel like have been hit by the hammer after 4th episodes. I cannot trust MDL's rating anymore or perhaps i will wait until the last episode and see the review first before deciding to watch it. I hope there will be a rating system like a credible rotten tomatoes in the future for dramas.

I feel u. This show is very peculiar, specific. It has a very targeted audience. So people will either love it so much or hate it so much.

It is overrated for me. People have higher expectations for story and plot. I think story is the soul of the movies and dramas. It's not executed well. The idea itself is a 9 for me, thats the reason i am interested to watch this show but the plot, omg. Not even reach a 9 for me. It should be about 7.5-8 max. No character development so far only saying to pull out the sword back and forth. People have other things to do besides watching dramas. If the show is not up to the reputation, people will get disappointed with the rating and it's not only me who feels the same way. That's the reason why i said it's overrated.

Idk about law in your country for marriage but Marriage in South Korea is a union between a man and a woman. A man over 18 and a woman over 18 years old may marry with their parents' or guardians' consent, and a person over 20 may marry freely. Since she has no parents and aunt is gone, idk if she can decide to get married just like that. Hmm alright if the writer decision to make her looks so dumb and immature haha but i just can't.. watch a lead character like that.. idk but i feel like slapping her face everytime she does that whinny thing lol lol lol.

Yes we definitely want to see more of their histories and powers instead of focusing only for romance. If not their backgrounds and their powers become so redundant, it's like their life purpose is only for dating and marriage. That's kinda lame. I will continue checking up the comments in this page, if many people starts to say that the plot is getting better and got more characters development, i guess i will continue watching after the show has ended.

Korineko18 for me, it's so illogical for a highschoolers to declare her love to a stranger uncle after she knows his power. In episode 2, she wants to marry goblin only because of his money, power & possession. I think it was like a few meetings, not even a month or 3 months. I mean if someone declare marriage when they are together for only few months, we think that it's possible but also weird right? This girl met him a few times then she wants to get married. It's definitely like selling her own body to stranger uncle in order to live comfortably. I never really find any girl does it for the sake of money unless they are a sl*t. U know that right.

I also hope to see the rest of the cast, like the goddess of birth, that granny, i am curious about her but no story so far. Chicken shop owner also like a table lamp inside the show. Sitting there doing nothing, no further story. Normally, something rated above 9 should have more plots and more things to say. Not left the audience feeling bored and got so many questions in mind. Yes the cinematography is damn good just like a movie. But the story itself. It's the writer failure to make this interesting. Ok let's just seee what will happen next. Whether the writer starts to throw in more plots and backgrounds into it.

I thought the whole goblin grim reaper and sunny story are like decorations only. Side dishes. I don't know what connection about seeing the ghost to the plot. Only to tell her that she is goblin's bride. No less no more.

It's because the drama rating is near to signal. And i have no idea why. This show is not over yet, but people already rated it so high. Should have rated it after the show has ended then it's only fair. Thats the reason i mention signal. Thanks.

All in all. I love this genre! But even though it's a fantasy, i need logic to put in place. Btw i like it's okay that's love, it's a romance drama, yes, but the plot and story is interesting. There are growth between main leads. I also love secret garden, full of cliches, yes, but interesting and funny. Etc. the most important part is whether i could respect the main lead. I definitely respect goblin but not eun tak. She is one spoiled little bratt who asked goblin's money and possession. Probably she learnt it from her aunt. Even though she is poor, she needs to grow up and earn her own money. There is no excuse of that lame behavior.. the plot is also becoming boring and stagnant. Like there is no other major plot besides i pull this sword or I don't pull it out. Or eun tak cried becoz of goblin's past life but it's only an acting show from eun Tak coz she still doesn't want to pull out the sword if she is not getting the money from goblin etc etc. goblin and grip reaper interaction is much much much more interesting. But the scene is too little, i hope eun tak role in this drama only a small part whereby she helps to pull out the sword, no more than that. Happy new year everyone.

Yes, it's quite scary to voice out our opinion here without getting bash. It's a total insult that this show's rating is near to that masterpiece signal's rating. Yes the idea might be a 9 but the plot is so damn lame.

It's like getting excited to date with a handsome guy (based on the photo he has given from social media) but when we meet him, he is totally ugly and different from his picture. That's how i feel watching this drama. I feel cheated BIG TIME. The poster and everything makes me feel excited only to let me DOWN BIG TIME after i watched a few episodes.

And soon there will be many trolls trying to lecture me on how great this show is.

I don't understand how come this kind of show can get a 9.2 rating here? If not for it's stellar actors, the awesome gong yoo and lee dong wook, this show is doomed.
