The drama is a light romcom (and nothing too deep as of right now) so if you’re looking for a drama with character development and a deep plot then this drama isn’t for you. I personally am enjoying this drama and is always up for a light-hearted drama that is easy to watch and laugh.

Subs release for international viewers are only release Friday to Sunday, two episodes a day. Episode 11 and 12 will air this Friday night at 8PM CST (time will vary according to your timezone)

I’ve noticed that too and I like both of them.

I’ve watched up to ep 8 and so far no triangle plot. Might just be a second lead couple focus more than love triangle. But who knows how the plot will develop. Anything can happen since it is a 24 episode drama.

Only watched up to where the drama was subbed (ep 2) right now and so far it’s okay. Not sure how the storyline would develop yet but I really like Donut so I’m giving this a try for him. The one thing I’m confused on and maybe I wasn’t paying a good enough attention but why does the FL hate the ML so much? It had something to do with his mom?/stepmom? right? Anyways, [SPOILER ALERT AHEAD] I found it to be a little over the top at the end of ep 2 for the FL to throw something at the ML’s face even after she already slapped him. Just my opinion. I understand she’s upset but it just feel out of character for her.

Ouu the storyline sounds good! I like that the setting is based in 1945. It gives it a different dynamic compared to modern times now in how we would deal with monsters in 2022 vs 1945

Watched up to episode 6 and so far it’s pretty light hearted and funny! Somehow Shen Yue always have the best chemistry with her MLs because I’m totally shipping Shen Yue with Chen Zhe Yuan onscreen and offscreen. From the BTS they look like they get along well together and are having fun filming. As a fan of Shen Yue since her ALSB days, her acting has greatly improved. I am honestly surprise by her remarkable growth and determination to do well in her career. I just hope the story progress well bc I’m enjoying this drama so far.

There are very few Thai actors and actresses that I like and follow but I think I’ve become a fan. Just came across one of his drama and absolutely loved him. His acting is superb! I haven’t watch CH7’s dramas in years bc I find their acting and quality in drama lacking a lot lately plus no actor/actresses has caught my eyes from CH7 but Donut is probably gonna be the reason I start watching more CH7 dramas. Sadly he doesn’t have much on his plate yet as an actor but it’s okay he is still young. Just hoping CH7 will promote him well bc he’s not just good looking but has a lot of potential in acting too.

And not gonna lie but I did get annoyed of the FL towards the end in the few last episodes as a viewer watching the drama. But don’t worry, her character is still likeable.

I’d give this drama an 8/10. There is a good cast and the acting was superb. What pulled me in the most was the actor who played the ML, Donut. This is my first time watching his drama and he really surprised me with his acting (especially since he is still so young) plus his look is quite appealing to me. I’ve become a fan of Donut and hope CH7 promotes him well with good scripts. TBH, I haven’t watched CH7 dramas in a very long time (years!) because the acting and quality has gotten so bad overtime. I was bored and read the synopsis to this drama and decided to give CH7 a try again and to my surprise I actually liked this drama. The romance is slow burn and I felt the plot got dragged quite a bit (thus my 8 star rating) but nonetheless I didn’t felt bored. Instead I found myself anticipating to see what will happen next. You know you liked a drama when you feel like ‘you don’t know what to do with your life anymore’ after finishing the drama. This drama gave me that feeling.

If China ever does a remake on the Korean drama Go Back Couple, I would love to see Janice play the FL’s role. Janice will suit the role bc she can pass to play an older woman and a college student.

This drama is up my alley. I love how the relationship is playing right now between the FL, ML, and SML. Plus the side characters are interesting and funny too. For a love triangle I love that it is light hearted. Idk if I’ll be able to watch if it was an intense love triangle. I also like that the FL is not being waived by her ex (ML) and is pretty decisive about her own feelings right now. The pacing so far is to my liking. Don’t find myself having to fast forward boring scenes. I can’t compare it to the Korean version since I haven’t seen that version but might consider giving it a try. Also love the casting in here. Miss seeing Janice Wu back onscreen.

I’m honestly enjoying this drama because of the casting. Love the relationship between Wu Shuang and Ding Yun Qi and curious to see how both their romance will develop. I’m honestly more here for the romance but the story line is good. Another thing I’m curious about is Wu Shuang’s real identity since she was adopted into the sect. My theory is that she is the (dead) sister of Luo Yun Song and Feng Ling. Considering in one of the flashback when the older sister got shot, Lou Yun Song had to leave his sister and flee with the younger sister Feng Ling. Afterward the camera zoomed in to see the sister’s hand flinched. My guess is the sect saved her and took her in.

Read the synopsis (somewhere else) and it seems interesting. Wish there is actually an English translation to the novel. Excited for this one to air.

This drama has a good storyline and started out good but towards the end it gets super cringing with all the FL and ML cheesy moments (that they overused in the drama) and nonstop kissing. I personally found it to be too cringing to handle so ended up having to quit watching. If you can tolerate or handle those cute, cheesy (and cringing) scenes then I recommend watching. The drama isn’t bad and casting are good looking.

I just finished rewatching the 06’ and 14’ (romance) version, and wanted to see if there is a more recent version since ROCH is my favorite out of the 3 trilogy but the casting for this version…sorry to say but I’m not excited.

I quite liked this version despite it focusing more on the romance aspect of the characters. Although, I still prefer the 06’ version more but this version didn’t disappoint either. Some may feel Michelle Chen was miscast but after the first few episodes I found Michelle tolerable as Xiaolong Nu. Her portrayal of Xiaolong Nu didn’t bother me so much because I thought Michelle did a great job but her image didn’t fit the Xiaolong Nu that I pictured in mind. Michelle is more of the pretty, cute, and baby face look which her cute and baby face threw it off for me (as Xiaolong Nu of course) but she’s still very pretty so eventually I got over my expectation after the first few episodes. It helped made the drama more tolerable for me and I thought Michelle and Chen Xiao looks good together. You can’t even tell that Michelle is older than Chen Xiao in real life because she has such a baby face. And knowing that they both are together in real life is extra cute since I like them both together in ROCH. I think I’ve rewatched this version 2-3 times already. :)

I completely forgot he was even in this drama so no, his role is not significant. He really doesn’t show up till the end or 2nd half of the drama. If fans are planning to watch this for ZZH than you will be disappointed but ROCH is such a classic wuxia drama that I’ll still recommend watching this drama for the storyline.
