I'm on episode 28. The excitement level keeps going up. This drama not only has great visuals and cinematography, but I also like the songs and background music! And I find myself looking forward to their dance numbers at the end of each episode (and they change this every few episodes) ๐!
So I finished this drama a few days ago, and I'm glad I watched it and persevered ๐! It's not perfect; for one they could have reduced the angst and misunderstandings and showed more of the couple's sweet moments. I saw some of these clips which did not make it to the final cut! There is good build-up of the romance and political/military plot, as well as character development. I like Shawn Dou and Chen Du Ling's acting and chemistry! The rest of the cast did a good job too. Overall, it's a good watch for me.
Just finished episode 14. This drama is a visually enchanting feast for the eyes, with the vivid colors and good cinematography. No wonder, as it's from the same director as "My Journey to You", so the shots and camera angles are similar.
I finished this drama a few days ago, and I'm glad I watched it and persevered (lol)! It's not perfect; for one they could have reduced the angst and misunderstandings and showed more of the couple's sweet moments. I saw some of these clips which did not make it to the final cut!ย But there is good build-up of the romance and political/military plot, and steady character development. I like Shawn Dou (Xiao Bei Chen) and Chen Du Ling's (Lin Hang Jing) acting and chemistry, the Xiao family dynamics (again it's not perfect), the strong brotherhood of Xiao Bei Chen, Mo Wei Yi and Xu Zi Jun, and how the drama connects the characters' stories to the political events of the time.
So despite some things that could've been better, it's still an overall good watch for me.
For the DuXin fans ;3Another trailer for their upcoming game show.https://www.tiktok.com/@tiannguyentdl/video/7495974459199737095Jeff…
Thanks for sharing the links! I'm waiting for the game show to be aired. Agree, better late than never, since they can still promote it to future drama watchers ๐.
I finished episode 32 last night, so 11 more episodes to go! Some comments below.
I've reached episode 32 and I think I'm way past the major misunderstandings and angsts. I like how Feng Qi was finally exposed for her wickedness and the truths came out. That woman needs to see a psychiatrist! I know there will be more things to come in the last 11 episodes, but I'm looking forward to them.
This is a helpful review! You've managed to write a balance view on the story and the characters. I like that you gave updates on some episode turning points, giving us ideas on the story and characters' development, but without giving away too much, i.e., major spoilers. I tried to avoid spoilers but it's hard for this drama, unless I don't read anything at all ๐.
I'm currently watching this drama. Your review (and some other comments/reviews), along with the story's premise and the main couple's visuals and chemistry (which I can see even in the posters), made me decide to give it a shot ๐. Thank you!
Have watched up to episode 21. So far, there is good build-up of the story (both the romance and political/military aspects) and character development. I like Shawn Dou and Chen Du Ling's portrayal of Xiao Bei Chen and Lin Hang Jing, respectively. Episodes 19 & 20 are really good, and they are turning points in their relationship and the political events. As much as I was annoyed with Xiao Shu Yi, especially in the first few episodes, what's good about her is she dared to confront Lin Hang Jing in defense of Xiao Bei Chen, and makes LHJ realizes things. Though sometimes she goes overboard because of her bias against LHJ. I'm halfway and I know there are still many ups and downs coming, so let's see.
