Exactly! I really don't get the decisions by the scriptwriter and/or director! Like how would anything have been different if they hadn't held hands? Peace could have tripped into his arms, they'd exchange the look, then be all bashful, and then walk into the shop! It really bothers me when characters act in unrealistic ways.

If I recall correctly, Sun convinces Peace to help him out in the tailor shop and extends his hand to Peace, who takes it. As they go to walk down the steps (?) into the shop, Peace trips (of course) and falls into Sun's arms and they exchange a look. Then after Sun helps Peace stand up again, he takes his hand and they go into the shop and it's only when the coffee shop man starts talking to Sun that Peace takes his hand away. I mean, holding hands isn't exactly an NC but it didn't seem totally natural to me for them.

I was genuinely moved by how they interacted on that bridge, how Sun didn't try to talk him down, just gave him the space to consider what Sun was telling him about his own experience...and then UGH. WHY couldn't they have just had their faces quite close together????
