Good question! And when Kawin asks the guys if they think maybe they're being set up (when trying to plan Joe's…
I know!! Just because his father was a successful local boss doesn't mean Sun can just step into his shoes! And we didn't see his dad doing anything like this, mostly just trying to smooth things over with other local thugs and protecting the neighborhood people.
I wonder why that specific flashback happened, was Kong his only kiss? I have to remember that Sun is only 22ish…
Good question! I guess we don't really know since we didn't see any flashbacks of him in high school with other boys. I'd taken it as maybe his only kiss but probably the last kiss that happened up until then, so Peace nearly kissing him brought back that traumatic memory?
Well, I think it's Kawin who asks, when they're trying to plan the heist, if they think maybe they're being set…
Hopefully we're not the only ones thinking it! ππ Huh! I just checked AO3 and there's not even a category for Bangkok Boys so we may be waiting in vain.
I actually thought that was the real mission and they simply used Sun and his gang as a tool to get into the port,…
Yes, I think I can see all of your previous comment which ended that Mr. Joe's plans are a mystery? Yeah, they're pushing this slow burn a bit longer than I expected! I never watched the trailer but I understand there will eventually be *something* happening between Peace and Sun.
Well, I think it's Kawin who asks, when they're trying to plan the heist, if they think maybe they're being set…
I'm not sure I agree it's inevitable! Look how far Sun's luck has gotten him so far. π Peace seems like he wants to protect him so maybe he'll end up being the person who betrays his family to save his (eventual, maybe, one of these days) lover?
Ah, so you don't think the murder weapon is for blackmail but that the Koreans will use it to get Sun out of the way? But...is he really such a threat? If everyone had just left him alone wouldn't he be running a gym?? The only reason he got dragged into all this is because of his brother!
I can't really see impulsive (but frankly gorgeous) Junho planning any of this but Jihoon, sure. I think he's plotting all the time.
I actually thought that was the real mission and they simply used Sun and his gang as a tool to get into the port,…
I guess? But Joe needed them to get in in the first place, which nearly didn't happen. π Anyway, I'm probably getting too far into the weeds with the "non-romance plot stuff" so I'll be patient and see if things come together or not (ahem, a la Playboyy π€£).
I actually thought that was the real mission and they simply used Sun and his gang as a tool to get into the port,…
But why would the Koreans think that Sun and his gang would have the first clue about how to break into the port? The only reason it came together was because of the surprise appearance of Tian! I mean, I'm not saying you're wrong, it makes as much sense as anything else, but I'm not sure why Mr. Joe has so much confidence in Jack and Sun.
Well, I think it's Kawin who asks, when they're trying to plan the heist, if they think maybe they're being set…
I like your interpretation of Kawin! But too bad his peeps don't listen to him, ha ha. Of course, Sun's motivation goes back to Joe delivering up the man who killed his father and Jack's motivation is to get the neighborhood back under their control (though I don't actually believe Joe plans to follow through on this).
Sun is totally reckless, agreed! I guess Tian is part of his overall luck. π But since you brought up the prints on the murder weapon...what is that even for? After it happened, I thought, Oh great, now they (whoever they are) can blackmail Sun or someone close to him into doing something or else the knife will be given to the police and Sun will go back to prison, but assuming that whoever has the knife is part of a murderous gang (they killed two men with that knife, after all), wouldn't they just threaten to kill Sun instead of trying to blackmail him/someone else? Is going to Thai prison worse than death?
Ah, I'd forgotten about the birthday party, good point.
Good question! And when Kawin asks the guys if they think maybe they're being set up (when trying to plan Joe's…
Seriously!! And what were they gonna do if Tian hadn't shown up?Which begs the question, why did Joe want THEM to do this job in the first place? They are rank amateurs, so why even bother? Maybe we'll get the answer in a future ep but right now it doesn't make much sense (though maybe I'm asking for too much).
Well, I think it's Kawin who asks, when they're trying to plan the heist, if they think maybe they're being set…
Though Kawin is also stone cold because he was the one who wanted to leave the injured guy to just die!
True, I like your reasoning, though did we ever really see that Sun had feelings for Kong? We know they were best friends and at some point at the start he told someone that he'd killed someone he'd loved (or that someone he'd loved had died), but I'm not sure it was clear in the flashbacks that he was crushing on Kong. But I guess maybe we can assume he was.
So, Iβm assuming that Sunβs flashback at the end was with his friend who got killed trying to protect him…
Right, that was Kong kissing him right before he died. But tbh I've never quite understood why Sun keeps saying that he killed Kong. I get that he feels responsible for his death but he never seems to correct anyone.
Sun really is NOT the smartest cookie in the room, uh πAnd his friends are even worse than him, like, damn,…
Well, I think it's Kawin who asks, when they're trying to plan the heist, if they think maybe they're being set up - which seems reasonable since they were set up THE LAST TIME - and Sun's the one who says screw it, let's do it anyway!
Ah, I hadn't thought of PTSD as the reason he flinches away from Peace's kiss attempt.
Why is Sun not concerned about his fingerprints that were planted on a knife? I am surprised none of the crew…
Good question! And when Kawin asks the guys if they think maybe they're being set up (when trying to plan Joe's job), Sun says screw it, let's just do it? He's the one who's been to prison before! They are definitely no Ocean's 11. π
