I didn't notice it, I loved the Shen Li "chicken" and thought it was very well done, so no idea what CGI you found lacking. But I was more interested in the Simple well-written story, rather than the mechanics behind it. It is such a well rounded drama in so many ways, it's too bad you got bogged down by one thing, because the sum of it is beautiful. Forget the CGI and just start counting the times the Male God tries to hold Shen Li's hand.

Agreed. That's what I thought as well. That leftover time for him to live alone and think of her. When they reunite watching him try to deal with jealousy, and his efforts at trying to hold her hand, keep her attention on him, and keep her by his side, is adorable and fun, and often touching.

The title is misleading. The male lead is annoying *VERY* in the beginning but by episode six he's started to grow on you. It's humor is simple but charming, and the story fairly engaging and not draggy for the most part. It is amateurish but does not take itself seriously. The cast is interesting and fun. For a low budget obviously full of beginners, it's got it's own charm and a very happy ending. It's not an 8 by any means but if you have a hard day this is the one to watch.

Thank you for that, I agree. It has some very good, well written moments but the translationwas terrible and the editing choppy like a bad butcher did it. Still, I liked most of it. Worst part was I was watching it on a site where it had been uploaded incorrectly and the only way to get it to play was the lowest vid setting and had a 10 second loading glitch through out the entire series on each episode. Probably why many didn't stick with or watch it! Hope they will see the link and give it a try. The actors worked hard and I did love the leads in this, wish they could have less of an OE, it always works against the over all appreciation of the short series dramas.

It had so much potential. But story got bogged down and too focused on less important prime Male villain. Just, really ,not well written. Actors gave it their all, and enjoyed seeing the "updated antique" costumes. and sets. Kudo to the designers. and the reason for my better than nominal rating. The ending was typical Chinese Drama ending for a pragmatic culture, no surprise to those of us who watch CD's. Some will love it some will hate it. For me it was okay watch but to be fair? Not as bad as some I've watched.
