Is it just me but I really like the consistency of Fadel having sensitive nipples? In every one of their intimate scenes they always have Style going for his nipples and him kinda melting cos of it. It's really interesting to see a character have a consistent sexual thing they like. I wonder if they'll ever go more in depth about Bison and his masochism....
This was better than I thought it was going to be. Honestly I wasn't sure how much I was going to like it but it was pretty good. A bit clumsy and slow and you can tell that they all need a moment to gain their bearings and get into a rhythm with each other, but all in all it was solid. I'm really glad they didn't use too much special effect sounds for some reason and the music is soooo catchy. I can only imagine the music to come as the series progresses.
Nothing is more annoying than a "straight" guy literally being harassed into liking the gay one (or I guess bisexual in Johan's case since he only dated girls apparently) But Ter literally cajoling North and hounding him to give Johan a chance when North has only dated girls and given no indication that he has anything to do with Johan other than paying off a debt, or that he is bisexual himself, is fucking ridiculous it borders on anger for me. Your best friend is stressed and working a dangerous job to pay back a bipolar asshole who keeps upping his rate and you're, what? Telling him give said asshole a chance and shipping them? That's messed up and I'd want my friend to unequivocally be on my side not some stranger. Maybe it's different in the books and some romantic interest was shown beforehand with North but the viewers literally only have the show to go off on and a straight guy being lowkey forced to confront these nonexistent feelings for another guy just doesn't feel realistic. Also, while it's great they're focusing on other characters, there are still 5 episodes left. Hill-Ter's story isn't done yet and Johan-North are like maybe 2 episodes away from getting together so....how else are they gonna drag this out for? I don't think I can stomach 5 episodes of Hill's asshole grandfather being a bigot and thinking he can control a grown ass man and whatever misunderstandings they'll put Johan-North through for the sake of "plot"
Earth is cute and sassy and has such good fashion sense irl and honestly he's a decent actor....but sometimes I just can't watch him without wanting to rip my hair out (I fully blame the writers/directors though) I'm just sick of him playing these whiney, pouty, insecure five year olds. And if I have to again see him have a tantrum and mess up his hair in frustration I'm gonna lose it, there are other ways of showing you're frustrated. Honestly Santa made the best choice in leaving Wabi Sabi, maybe now he won't be pigeon-holed into boring roles and honestly he just looks like he has waaay more chemistry with Perth than he ever had with Earth and I think that has a lot to do with the fact that Perth is only 3 years older than him as opposed to Earth being 8 years older. Also, love Sammy but whhhhyyyy does she always act these over-the-top annoying roles where she's just loud and pulls the most obnoxiously ugly facial expressions? Girl, you're pretty just stop making those faces! As for the story....I started late to give more episodes but...I shouldn't have bothered, not like much plot has been going down. Considering Perfect 10 Liners follows the same kind of plot point and they're not that far apart in episodes AND they're directed by the same person, you'd have thought that he'd be more skilled at giving each character a chance to shine. I know this supposed to have a part 2 (budget wiling) but even then, you can show the other characters interacting with each other and others. If it's slice of life, then give me the life of people hanging with their friends.... Might let this finish and see how the reviews are later....
It's watchable I guess....but it leaves so much to be desired. The characters have so much potential but they're so viciously shoved down my throat that I can't enjoy their personalities shining and coming forward as the story progresses. Shows these days are all about tell and not show that I can't form any attachments to the story or characters. Like, show me more about how and why Atom likes Matmi and show me more about how he starts liking Kongthap. The plot needs to breathe! It's only the 2nd ep and you already have Atom realizing his feelings.....what's the next 10 eps possibly gonna bring to table?! You have a show that has enough eps that you can flesh out a lot more characters and plot points, unlike the JBL which had so few eps. But while the JBL was short, the emotions were on point and believables cos J-dramas tend to be quite slow paced but heavily put emphasis on character development. Here I honestly don't know why I should care about any of them, if they've already started at the finish line of development then what more can they do story wise? I anticipate it being rife with stupid misunderstandings.....sigh..... The acting is passable, honestly I hope Gemini/Fourth work on something that challenges them in the future. Midnight Chicken may honestly be their best work......
This series was just ok for me. There was nothing interesting or particularly special about it and I only really looked forward to it in the beginning. Tay and New had a comfortable chemistry but it wasn't amazing, passable at best. It's just, I've seen chemistry lately with BL boys and it's off the charts but they were kinda lagging which is odd considering how close they are and that they have another BL coming out. Character wise....Achi was pretty boring and soulless and I get he was grappling with his own insecurities but there was nothing that really gave him that....extra something, like oh, he's hiding a pretty great part of himself but is too shy to show it. Karan was...too green, if that makes sense. Like, give that man a statue and make him a saint. There was literally nothing wrong with him. Which was the problem. I'd have liked to see some natural human flaws in him. Trash talking a difficult client in his head, having a dirty thought about Achi, actually getting insecure about Achi reading his mind and maybe coming to terms that he didn't have to appear perfect to Achi, that would have worked nicely in showing his own insecurities and making Achi feel a bit more comfortable around him. As for the side characters....Pai and Rock were cute but so-so. Jinta and Min....at times I likes them and at others I didn't, i feel like if they'd gotten a bit more screen time and bit more mind reading hijinks then they'd really be more fun but....they were just kinda a bit too cringey after a while. It wasn't bad at all, I absolutely loved it for what it was but the Japanese version is better for me and the anime is also taking the cake right now. Kurosawa arguing with reason and desire is what I'd have liked Karan to do a bit of.
This series is really interesting and it's really refreshing to see a high budget production. Especially one with such an intriguing story. It's a bit confusing at some points though, like certain things just feel like they need more context. Also not that I don't like the supernatural element, (I do, it's so unique and not something you see often) it just feels a bit out of place for the action, thriller, police investigation, vibe they're already doing. The clash of genre's is a bit mismatched. It's great that they're making it work so well for themselves but a When A Snail Falls In Love vibe would have also worked really well. Multiple small cases all leading up to the big one where you need to pay attention to the small ones so they make sense later. Loving the chemistry and acting though, top tier.
I have a crazy theory that Yi's dad is the one who sabotaged the car. I mean he was the one who gifted it to Diao and since he couldn't drive it was never used until Yi drove it. Maybe the dad was tired of Diao's family demanding things from them and since Yi/Diao cheating or separating will result in a loss for them, he tried to off Diao....a week is too long to wait to figure things out.
but will top really love mew?? from his character video, its clearly stated that he have no problem laying just…
I more HOPE he falls for Mew only to realize at the end what he's lost when Mew dumps his ass. Plus I feel like he wouldn't have gotten into a "relationship" with Mew if he didn't like him. I mean sure he's cheating and whatever but cheaters are usually like that, they'll cheat but won't leave their partner cos they still love them or whatever. He probably wanted the whole conquest thing, started liking Mew but couldn't leave his sleazy ways behind and then it'll bite him the ass later on.
From they way the trailer went...I hope Top ends up alone. Like through all the toxic cheating and lying I hope he genuinely falls for Mew only for Mew realize that it's not worth it and dump his ass. Personal theories....Sand and Ray might work things out when Ray gets a nice rejection from Mew and I'm thinking....Nick and Boston would try to be together but Boston would continuously screw up and eventually Nick would leave and then Boston and Top would get together but they'd just be so toxic together that the relationship would end ugly.... I can't wait for this series.....
This series was an absolutely great idea. Too bad they didn't make a 1st and 2nd story.
Because they didn't 1 and 2, it feels like a bad idea. Do you start a story mid-way? No you start at the beginning. It's better to do it right then just make something for the sake of making it, there are plenty of other stories that they could have adapted.
I feel like this series was a bad idea. If the first 2 stories were too hardcore to make then this one shouldn't have been made either. It's confusing and there's no context to go off of, it's like they expect everyone to already know what happened previously. Not everyone has read the books or can read the books. In which case they should have made this flow just a bit smoother to compensate for the lack of context but it feels like I'm watching a watching a series midway because I missed the first few. Also if S.A was too triggering to have in a series then they could have changed it. Adaptations are tweaked all the time and it's not as if we're not used to it being there in a series. TharnType, Love By Chance, The Effect, to name just a very few. Even KinnPorsche book had r*pe in it but they didn't add it in the series.. You can censor it a lot more than in the books but why bother making it if you can't do it right. The editing is also cringe, it's like no one is making an effort anymore and the quality of BLs are just getting lower and lower which is such a disappointment.
Sloppy character introductions and boring story. Like, it's the first ep, it's supposed to hook you but this just felt so long and nothing happened. It also happened too fast. Stuff that went into this ep should have been reserved for at least 3 eps in. Show me that Gun is boss that nobody likes being around, show me in actions how he's cold, mean, authoritative and doesn't listen to his employees. But he's so tame, like just barely prickly and kinda boring. He didn't even make Cher do anything that was difficult or unreasonable that would make it seem like he's singling Cher out. Cher is over the top but he wasn't that bad to me, I kinda wish they had set up the character a bit more. He's interested in games and has competed before but we're not shown any of that, or why he's taking this internship, does he want to make games? Does he need money? And we have no idea why he has an ASMR channel other than them saying he has one. What about it is so special to Gun? How did he find out about it? Why would he immediately tell Cher he knew when he seems like someone who would hold things close to the vest? In that regard it would have been better to have him suspect for a few eps while explaining more of his interest in the channel and then have him tell Cher he knows, or better yet that could have been a cute thing that he knew alone and used to get closer to Cher. Jack and Cher together were really cute though which was for me, the only real plus for this ep.
I don't personally care if it's a BL or not, the trailer was a bit ambiguous so honestly I can see where people might have been confused. If it's an epic bromance I'm still game because this looks really damn interesting and not a genre I've seen too often in a Thai drama. The urban fantasy style really does it for me so that's what'll keep me interested.
The character introduction was abysmal, like, show me their personalities, don't tell me oh this guy is a playboy and I don't like anyone in my office expect a few people. There's just nothing about their personalities that stands out to me other than King is kinda nice and playful and Uea is cold and always looks like he's above everyone else. Chemistry is there for sure but....I would have liked it if the sex scene happened at the very end and if the episode delved more into King and Uea's dynamic, interactions and a bigger reason as to why Uea hates King other than him being a playboy. Like, dude fucks around but you're not his boyfriend or his ex and never had much interaction with him, so what's the problem? If they had actually made out when they first met in the bar and then Uea found out that King was there with someone already and got all disgusted with him, then I would understand his dislike. Also this may be me nitpicking but I wish they had been more creative with his fear of the dark and how it was caused by his mother rather than immediately shoving it down our throats that he has an issue with his mom. It could have been a few shorter flashbacks and then spaced over a few eps to give it a better storyline. As it is it looks like it's just gonna be a lot of unnecessary angst and a ton of steamy scenes. No problem with that but it's pretty predictable so...
I really liked this series, it was cute and uncomplicated. A lot better than I was expecting it to be. I kinda really liked the eighties gangster vibe that Noey was obsessed with and I loved his clothes, it was awesome and really suited him. That being said, there were two things that bugged me. 1 - Thi was soooo slow! It's like he's moving through syrup half the time, Noey would hold out a hand and it would take him like five minutes to even move his even a tiny bit closer. Noey's impatient outbursts when Thi would take a million years for one single action was literally my reaction, like why are you moving so slow? Even after he stopped being afraid of Noey, he was so slow. 2 - The side side characters felt bored. Every single side character looked and sounded like they were incredibly bored, like it was an effort to get through their lines and to be on set. They just didn't have any energy or seem interested in what they were doing so scenes with the side characters felt tedious and time consuming. Other than that it was a pretty good show.
One of the things that I really like about this series is that it is established from the beginning that Tinn likes Gun. They never shy away from his crush on him and every little thing he does to help and support him. It's not like those awful ones where the guy is such an asshole and you have no idea how the other person can possibly be in love with them but they get together and only at the end do you see how much they've secretly helped their crush while still being really mean to them. It's nice to see both sides here and it's so cute and innocent and I love how it's about first love and fighting for your dreams against a world that tells you have more realistic goals and making the most of your youth, they're doing it really well.
I really hope they don't make this into a drama, they won't be able/want to delve into the psychological mess and gore that the story was. In which case I'd rather have the story, perfect, crazy and scary as it is, than a watered down disappointment of a series that lasts for 8 episodes of barely 15 minutes each.
It's really interesting to see a character have a consistent sexual thing they like. I wonder if they'll ever go more in depth about Bison and his masochism....
