It's been a while since the last time I’ve watched a Taiwanese show. The pilot episode seems good on introducing the bond of the main characters. Great to see a BL taking into the field of law. The vibes remind me of Beloved in House: I Do and HIStory 4: Close to You.
Love the acting, the personalities of the characters, and the light and smooth flow of the story. So far, so good!
A Miracle of Teddy Bear is that kind of drama who uplifts, inform, educate, and enlighten the general public about the world of a person falling in love with the same sex. The show was reported to be the first Lakorn BL to be aired in a national television channel in Thailand. That took this chance to build a bridge on bringing out the difficulties, barriers, and emotional damage that criticism works on gay people. The explanation about the generation gap is on point. I also do believe that the reason why majority of the older people are against same sex relationship is simply because of how society told them to be. In which, children born into this new generation are more introduced to the freedom of choices and such things that allows them to identify their gender by themselves alone. But until now, LGBTQ+ Community is far away from living a world without experiencing a brutal approach from some homophobic individuals.
Nut’s harsh action and using Tofu as a trigger to his Mom was certainly bad. But we are all aware of the reason behind. This is not a statement defending Nut’s grim personality. His anger is valid and his parents are at fault here. Yes, his father is a nuisance and annoying person with a toxic masculinity. Yet, it is also frustrating that his mother, who he considers to be the closest to, wouldn't be able to raise a help for him but instead tries to turn a blind eye and pushes that his child is like any other normal guy out there. Feels like Tofu will be the one who will close the gap between the sour history of the mother and son tandem.
Some extra details from this episode that I needed to say something about are stated in this paragraph. The thing I can’t help but to get a little bit annoyed about is when Tofu suffers. P’Nut is hard to please and our poor baby can’t help but to accomplish Nut’s demands. The lunch scene was somehow disrespectful to Gen’s parents but fortunately it ended up with a piece of advice and realization of the mistakes. Tarn is a nice guy who colors the gloomy world of Nut. Reminiscing the bittersweet high school love story was a great memory of Nut’s past because despite the depressing world he lived in at his house, he had someone who let him feel the exact opposite. A world bigger than home, a world that changed his life. Lastly, Tofu printed shirts keep getting cuter and cuter in each episode.
Another episode that is wholesome and heartwarming. We witness how important conversation is in one’s life. Opening your heart to talk about your honest feelings is courageous and deserving of an applause, that finally you’ve been released from the uneasy emotion that keeps dwelling inside you. Mrs. Na and Nut’s short yet heavy exchange of words during the surprise birthday celebration emphasizes that the things in the past can slowly-but-surely resolve the emotional distress of the present. Along with Prib and her acceptance to end the one-sided love she had for P’Nut. I like how careful Nut is in choosing the right words on declining one’s love because rejecting someone is as hard as being rejected.
For me, the best thing that happened from this episode is the deep talk between Song and his dad. The fact that Song is indirectly vocal to his dad about the unfair treatment he felt was great. It is way better than hiding and owning the problem by yourself, that mostly happens in most teenagers. We can’t blame Song for comparing his life to his deceased brother, Neung. In the end, it was touching to see that the dad realized his lackness on consideration for Song’s emotion. He is 18 years old, not too young and too old to perceive favoritism, even old people tend to feel this kind of treatment in their life. I also like the advice that Gen’s mother gave to Song, the hug was also comforting.
Going back to Nut’s birthday celebration, it’s so cute that Tofu’s bonus gifts were a kiss and a night spent in Nut's room that continued night by night. The story behind Mrs. Na initiating to wash the bedsheet and Tofu rejecting it was too funny, we all knew it right? HAHAHA. Satisfying to see homophobic people such as Jan and the school teacher being clapbacked by our boys. Just like what Tofu says to Nut, “Love is not the problem” it’s the people themselves who put criticism for two men falling in love. I also understand where Nut’s emotion came from. We all don’t want to be put under a spotlight that says negative things about us. On the good side, contented to sight Mrs. Na’s happy expression upon seeing his boys and their lovey-dovey scenes. The story still has many mysteries to unveil. I am scared of the possible chance that Tofu might transform back into a motionless Teddy Bear.
Hesitant to watch this show from the trailer itself and the negative comments I've been reading. Although, I want to support Green's first main BL role but I can't stand a below average drama 😭
An episode that started heavy but ended up becoming a breath of fresh air. It was a sad thing to witness how Mrs. Na was violently hurt by Jan’s hurtful words and physical hits. This show emphasizes that marriage is not an easy choice to make. Marry someone you love and someone you are willing to spend the rest of your life with. Undergo this sacred ceremony if and only if you are mentally, emotionally and financially prepared. I pity the situation between the adults' conflicts yet this also explains how important decision making is in one’s life. Regrets and disappointments are surely an irksome feeling that we can’t force to go away. Despite all of these, I am sincerely joyful that Mrs. Na finally braces the truth of the reality in the present time. This is the first and biggest step of slowly walking towards the path of acceptance. Waiting for the deep talk of emotions from the mother-and-son tandem. Also, hooray for an episode without Nut’s violent behavior towards Tofu. He also tends to let Tofu be his shoulder-to-cry-on type of person when he has a tough situation. The preparation for the surprise birthday celebration is too cute. Nut is going to celebrate his special day with a blast, from the people who are truly important to his life.
Scaredy cat Nuea is such a cutie! Love to see the casual chemistry of his circle, such an adorable bond of friendship. But, what's going on? Khluen definitely had feelings for Nuea, especially now that they crossed paths once again. His sweet actions, attention, and extra-care to Nuea makes me smile. I already melted long ago if Khluen kept staring at me with his sexy pair of eyes.
I'm so energetic and super alive despite watching this in the middle of the night. Just like the ice cream scene, my heart is melting due to the fiery chemistry of Joong & Dunk. I've been constantly screaming internally from the romantic vibes this show gives to me. I can't blame Khluen for falling to the fluffy Nuea. He is a ray of sunshine that needs a massive amount of protection from anything that can make him sad. The talkative Nuea and the listener Khluen is the perfect combination from this episode. I love this so much!
This is the kind of show I've been looking for. Something that can make me madly in love and attached to the romantic flow of the story. Khluen's little and big efforts to support Nuea in anything is a big plus factor for having the right qualities of being a perfect boyfriend material.
You know it's a great drama when aside from enjoying the episode release per week, you always have the urge to watch the next episode ASAP and test your patience to the limit. Can Friday please come sooner? I want to see more!
A single episode delivers a variation of emotions. First, abandoning Tofu was sad but I can’t blame Nut for it since he knew nothing about Tofu and it's hard to believe the fantasy of him transforming into human. A normal person will react this way yet it is still sorrowful to see Tofu suffer. Second, the sense of comfort because Gen’s family is a gem. An open-minded parents who let their son decide for his own path in life. Third, the feeling of endurance by letting go and indirectly reimbursing the other person to taste his own medicine. Tofu’s been hurt several times by Nut’s words and fist that he decided to leave the house for the sake of peace from one’s burning rage of fire. Fourth, despite the chaos and never ending quarrels, Kuenchai is sending me cuteness due to his existence from the show. He knew when and how to act in accordance to the specific vibe of the scene. He can be joyful if the cast plays along with him, standing stiff to support the person in distress, and giving way for the couple’s romantic moments in the house. The dog nailed it! Finally, it ended in a heartwarming conversation that became the bridge for reconciliation. Happy to witness Nut’s opening his past to Tofu little by little. The playful-flirty Tofu at the end was so adorable. However, I want to know what happened to Ms. Left Slipper and where did the dog take her? Always anticipating the next episodes with a mindset of “expect the unexpected.”
Thoughts on EP06. Too many things happened during this episode. Mostly happy vibes such as their first date, the drunk Tofu, the play under the rain, and taking good care of the sick Tofu. Not until Tofu’s few lines wrecked Nut’s contentment. “Your lips are sweet and soft like jelly” I don’t want to boost a hate to Nut since there is definitely a reason behind this. Despite that, I love to see the improvement of Mrs. Na’s condition. Still, I can’t give an exact proud theory on the adults’ confusing conflicts from the past. The show consistently gives us several unexpected plot twists and I’m all eyes for it to witness in the future. Additionally, the way they keep staring at each other inside the theater film is too cute to handle. However, Nut jealousy is half-good and half-bad. He was fine when he saw Tofu and Song’s slight clinginess but acted too harsh when someone approached Tofu for a selfie. Yet, I’m sensing a connection with his attitude from his past so I’m going to wait for it to be explained later on. This is what I like about the show, giving us a character that has a valid reason for their complicated emotions and trying to break down the walls that keep hurting them. Somehow, it reminds me of “Lovely Writer” but with the inclusion of fantasy as the difference. Moreover, The Miracle of Teddy Bear explicits a rarity of showcasing fresh and enjoyable ideas that I have never yet seen from other dramas.
Finally able to watch it. Loving the pilot episode, this is surely gonna be a cute and charming show. I just learned that Joong is the one who sang the OST, his voice is so fine and sweet! Also, nice to see several good looking side characters that can portray an average act. I'm enjoying the flow of the story, no cringe and super cliche scenes. So far so good! The main character can pull a natural way of acting, their facial expressions are so fascinating. Daonuea's friends are the type of friends who support you in everything but also make fun of you hahaha loving the vibes. Their roommates, Maithee & Sean, are sending me giggles with their little yet flirty moments. I hope they turn out to be a real couple soon. Also, Phoon is so freaking handsome too. Wishing for more of his screen time and an ending he deserves since it's clear that his role for this story is to create jealousy and related stuff to the main couple. Badly want to watch the next episode ASAP huhu this is a good show.
A mini-review on EP05. One of the main posters from this show was taken during the ironing-of-clothes-scene which was pretty romantic despite its simplicity. Romantic realization and deep feelings are slowly getting developed. When Tofu said the lines, “I want to record my time with you, so it can be my memory” I knew the fact that sooner or later, Tofu will eventually vanish as a human and I’m not ready for that. Anyways, I’m loving those fluffy moments of a pestering Tofu that keeps asking for Nut’s acceptance on his boyfriend request on Facebook. Also, Kuenchai and Tofu officially became friends. As usual, a single episode of The Miracle of Teddy Bear is incomplete without an angry Nut. I’m not condemning his actions since I can feel that his fuss is valid due to the past experiences he encountered.
Love the acting, the personalities of the characters, and the light and smooth flow of the story. So far, so good!
