Her thing for him is abusive and toxic imo. Both of them need to take a running jump off a cliff with jagged rocks (the characters ofcourse, the actors esp SYR are amazing).

I though she was a princess sent from King Chengs side as a sort of peace trade but im not a novel reader and just thought this from what was said at some point in an earlier episode.

Im thinking the step mothers sister (Consort) is with King Cheng but maybe the step mother doesnt know about that side of things? But im not a novel reader so i could be very wrong.

Naaa, he definitely tried to kill her. He could have easily done it other ways if not. Knocking her out with a shovel and burying her alive is just his weak assed attempt to kill her.
