I dislike this kind of posts but will chant this mantra to stop myself from giving them the attention they so…
Yes, they can certainly say their piece, express all the hate they want. We cannot stop them from doing that. But we can certainly totally ignore them and choke them of any attention they hope to get.
Sometimes, they are just baiting us. Spewing hate and then hoping that someone will take the bait, engage them and get into endless argument with them. It is like they need some social company, cannot find it, and did what they did, just to get attention.
Finally, I'll get to hear RAW EMOTIONS pouring from Dilraba's voice :') Hoping in Anle Zhuan, we get her voice!!!
This trend will remain, using her own voice in modern dramas and using the voice actress in her historical dramas. I watched all her historicals using the headset, and quite honestly, the voice actress does an amazing job.
Historical dramas are longer than modern dramas. Dilraba will not have the time to hang around after filming, to do the dubbing. After each filming, she is off to do commercials, gala events, red carpet events, etc. She is going to make far more money doing this, than the producer paying her to do the dubbing, even if she could. Or, Dilraba could be spending time thinking about her next project. All these activities will be far more important to Dilraba than dubbing her own voice in a historical drama.
I have seen so many people coming here to ask, how is the quality of the drama. There are a few, in the posts just below this.
If you have already watched this drama in raw up to E16 or even with fansub up to E3, if you do feel that this is good, you can start rating this drama and give it a fair rating. I am sure you will agree with me that it deserves more than 8.2.
A few days ago, a few of us gave it 10/10, to push back against deliberate low raters. It did not help, because there too few of us and far too many low raters around.
Please do whatever you can, for the rating to be a fairer reflection of the quality of this drama, so that passersby will get the right message. Please do not let those low raters get what they want, which is to turn people away from this amazing drama.
If you do wish to rate, but do not know how to do it, drop a note here. I will teach you. It is very simple and will only take a few minutes of your time.
That is great! If you wish to discuss anything in the first three episodes, in your next post, use the spoiler…
I am glad that they changed it in the drama. It is no fun to watch him being hang on the wall for many episodes. And it would also be not fun for Allen to act it, being tied to the wall all the time.

Ok. Good. As long as you are aware that he only loses his tail in a later episode, that is good. No, he does not have retractable tail. That happens in western dramas.
I think the way they are doing it is the best. Because, from the dialogues, it is very clear that he has yet to lose his tail, up to Episode 2.
Shunde will only get worse and worse, in doing bad things. But the actress is really good. I mean, she can really project evil really well. The more we hate her, the better she is as an actress.
Feeling sorry for Ji Yunhe is all part of the story and we should feel that way, because Dilraba is a very good actress. If she is not, we would not have felt sorry.
This drama has so many good supporting actors/actresse. Apart from the lady who acts as Princess Shunde, all the others are really good.
The cast list here needs some serious checking & verifying, I went to check some characters & found Qu Xiao Xing…
Several days ago, when Lulu asked me to help, I already contacted the MDL. But the volunteer who is handling this page just refused to change. Not sure why, even though I kept telling her that my request is based on the drama that we are watching right now, and not on the novel. I made the same request again just a few moments ago, for her to add in photos of the more important supporting cast. I am not really interested in all those flowers. I think maybe she thinks I am and refused to make the changes. Strange.
I couldn’t agree with you more. In the meanwhile, I’m reading the novel.
Oh, the link is right up there, in the Recent Discussion section right above. Look out for a link by Titania. She posted the English translation of the book there.

Actually, he did not 'lose' his tail in E2. I think you are aware of that? It just appear that way, because it would be rather difficult to show him walking around with his tail. Hence, they gave him legs in the drama, from E2, to let him walk around. The actual lost of his tail came in a letter episode.
And yes, Yun He's fox demon state is very well done. She looks really menacing with those tails and her red eye. And she is able to have amazing facial expression that frightened even Princess Shunde. She looks like a total terrorist.

You decide, whether you want to discuss now or later, when you have watched more episodes. For me, I understand quite a bit, even watching it without subs all the way up to Episodes 16.
Oh? Hitting their production goal?? If they can wrap up filming in 3 rather than 4 months, we could really be…
Yes, their standards for thin worse than S Korean. Many top S Korean actresses do not look as thin as her. She did say, when she was interviewed recently, that Chengdu has great food, and while filming there, she is going to eat and put on some weight. Even mentioned something like putting on 5 Kg. Let's hope she does that. Given her height, putting on 5 kg should be ok. She will hardly look fat.
All of my favorite secnes from the novel are when Chang Yi become the lord of north. The CP moments they have…
I think they will keep all these for later episodes; they are building up the storyline rather nicely. Right now, it seems that Ji Yun He is playing solo. But, they are already setting up the stage for those sad moments you mentioned. From some of the advanced previews, there will be lots and lots of touching CP moments. The climax will be when the two of them teamed up to get rid of Shunde.
I must wait 3 days again to watch the next episode..I can't wait to watch the continuation of the episode and…
This is what I suspect. He will become more powerful. He will be angry. And also sad. Lots of opportunities to show his emotions, his acting abilities.
The satisfaction of having managed to watch the first 3 episodes with good quality fan subs, is truly a liberating…

If you are talking about those episodes that have been aired so far, I totally agree with you. Thus far, Reba's…
Not sure if you have managed to watch any of the episodes in the raw. If you did, you would agree with me that none of the supporting cast has outshined the two main leads. They do what they do, to move the story along nicely. Many of these supporting cast are good actors themselves; they deliver on what the director has asked them to do.
Right now, Allen's role is to play a meek, innocent Changyi, but that is just the sequencing of the story. When his character changes later on, viewers will then be amazed, and that will be his turn to shine.
Does anyone know if we will get actual official subs cause there's no way I can watch this with the bad quality…
It is not question of if, because we will get those official subs, but a question of when, which is a question no one has definite anwer.
The earliest, 2 April. Another possibility 16 April. Rumoured date: 22 April.
They were just not ready with the official subs, but was ready with Chinese subs and all the other stuff, so decided to show the drama in China first, while waiting for English subs to be ready.

The only time when a drama follows the source material to the T is when the screenwriter for the drama is also the novel writer. In this case, it is not. So, the screenwriter and director made changes they felt will make the drama more pleasing to drama viewers.
But those who have read the novel, many of them did say the core portions of the story remained intact. Whatever changes that were made were peripheral.

Thus far, according to those who did read the novel, they have already changed a number of things in the drama. So reading the novel may or may not help you.
Up to E16, there is nothing to suggest she is their kid. But a scene here and there did suggest that she is product of skill transfer from Qing Shu, which is a very common trope used in Chinese historical dramas. So that skill transfer likely interacted with that poison, resulting in her being what she is in E14, rather than she being their kid.
Anyone throw rotten tomatoes at her comments yet?She must be deadly blind or have not even watch the drama at…
These people can say whatever they want, even when show them that TBW is dominating in China. When we challenge them, they sometimes say that is their opinion, that is how they feel, please respect their opinion. And then the discussion keeps going round and round, with no end. Leaving them alone saves our heartaches.
They are in great minority. No need to worry about them. No matter how hard we try, we cannot win them all.
Sometimes, they are just baiting us. Spewing hate and then hoping that someone will take the bait, engage them and get into endless argument with them. It is like they need some social company, cannot find it, and did what they did, just to get attention.
