I loved today’s episode! 😭 The Lin siblings are actually quite good at working together. After the ML resigned, I thought the drama might start to go downhill, but this episode had some really interesting developments. 👀✨ I’m glad the story is still finding ways to keep things engaging

Ooh, I see! I thought there was also some meaning behind buying lotus roots, but I’ve only just learned about it now.  I’ve seen lotus roots mentioned quite often in C-dramas, so I always wondered about them. Here, we have lotus flowers too, but the roots aren’t really popular as food. We mostly use lotus flowers as offerings to Lord Buddha. 🪷

Personally, I’m not really into rewatching dramas. But now I’m starting to realize that I might actually have to rewatch some of them to notice all these little details I missed the first time. ✨

In the second episode, there was a girl selling chrysanthemum greens. So that girl eventually grew up and became a mother! 😭 Ooh, they actually used two different actresses for the younger and older versions, so I couldn't recognize her at first. Now it makes so much sense! 👀✨

Ooh, she was selling flowers...? Ahh yes, I think I remember that scene now! But I couldn't notice that it was her at the time, because she was actually just a girl back then.

Ooh yeah, I noticed the same thing! We know how angry he used to be with the ML before, but now he can finally see that his disciple has found herself the best husband. 🥹❤️ I bet a part of him is secretly relieved and proud now. 😂

I guess this comes from watching hundreds of dramas over the years. 😂 After watching so many, I’ve naturally become more observant and started noticing these tiny details. But honestly, I really love finding things like this. It’s kind of fun to pay attention to the little details, connect the timeline, and realize what the drama is quietly telling us. 👀🕵️‍♀️✨

Before his death, Second Brother Lin said that he had already lived for two years without his mother. Then, three months after his death, Old Madam Lin passed away. Two years later, he finally resigned.

they consumated the marriage around 4.5 yrs after the marriage. it was a long time.

I noticed this when I watched Episode 39. In Episode 21, there was a woman selling chrysanthemum greens and cherries with her newborn child. The FL bought chrysanthemum greens from her while shopping with Han Scholar’s elder sister. Then, in Episode 39, the same woman appeared again, this time selling lotus roots with her child. The child was even shouting, “Lotus in June, lotus root in August!” 🪷😂

And meanwhile, our ML had some fresh lotus roots bought for his in-laws. 🥹

This is one of the reasons I love C-dramas so much. Sometimes they show us something that seems completely insignificant at first, but when the same people or details appear again several episodes later, we suddenly realize how much time has actually passed. The newborn baby from Episode 21 is now old enough to be walking around and calling out to customers. The mother is still making a living by selling vegetables, but even the season and what she sells have changed. 🌱➡️🪷

It is such a tiny detail, but it quietly tells us that life has been moving forward in the background while our main characters have been busy with their own stories. We are not just watching the plot move from one event to another; we are watching an entire world continue to live, change, and grow around them. 🥹

And this is exactly the kind of detail I appreciate in C-dramas. They don't always need a dramatic dialogue explaining that “months have passed” or that “life has changed.” Sometimes, they can simply bring back a woman we saw several episodes ago, show us that her newborn has grown a little, change the vegetables she is selling according to the season, and let us understand everything ourselves.

It is only one tiny scene in the entire drama, but it carries such a big message. ❤️

Because of the lack of romance, the drama has received relatively low ratings. Although I’m personally not really into Republican-era dramas, I’m very interested in these con artists and the way they operate.

Actually, the first time I fell for him was during the scene where the FL discovered the jade token's meaning he had given her. The second time I started loving him from the bottom of my heart was when he had the opportunity to take advantage of her, but he chose not to sleep with her. And the third time? The way he proposed to her. Ahhh, this man! I'm so in love with him! 🥹🦋

I honestly don't know how deeply I've fallen for this lovely man's character. Every little thing he does makes me fall for him even more. ❤️😭

They gave the betrothal gifts in the Fourth Lady's name, and then she was kidnapped, someone tried to kill her, and another woman even took her place in the wedding ceremony. She literally did nothing wrong, yet somehow, they still ended up blaming the Fourth Lady! 😭🤦‍♀️

How can these people be so illogical and nonsensical?! Oh gosh, my blood pressure is rising just watching this! 😤🔥
