Some of the director choice werent evidently professional one. It was clear to me too as just a casual viewer. It has nothing to do with play with the expectations of the viewer, it is just plain unprofessional favoritism. He still did a good work but, for example, there is no denial that he subtly (not even that much) give the 2ml major importance than the ml itself when as much as the 2ml was interesting the ml instead had layers of shade that needed to be explored more. Ml character had so much potential, he is recognised as one of the most interesting character ever seen. And Hmh skill in playing such a complicated character were peerless. There is no professional logic or coherent excuse to not use this multifaceted character at his best. Of course the director is free to do what he want but that doesnt means that his choice were always professional and not preferenzial. The directors that work many time with the same actor are 99% from the same agency, it is beetween them, that they chose who is the best. But when another actor come from a difference agency and they must choose between their actor or the main, sometime directors also risk to ruin the drama for their loyalty to their agency.

He was obsessed by Zyz, at the end he talk about the promise he made with him , but he shout....to Zyc to wach him? Really? His last look and words about the wildness dont go to his long lost love...i mean friend Zyz but to Zyc? 😲 Kinda forced here!😅🤣 At first when he started to talk with Zyc instead of Zyz i was sure he would have said something like "Take care of him" but he didnt 😭 Then it really make no sense for his last words to be given to Zyc instead Zyz....😅😥
They just forgot about him in the final cut😭 There was a scene where he wakes up, presumably back at the Yiyue…

And i agree with you. I never found fair this "always the ml to sacrifice" . But i suppose there is a logic even in that. The fl can carry their baby or in most case fl just are overpowered by ml (in strengh and smartness 😐). But in this case specifically the fl really couldnt have died or our kind and unlucly 1000+yo demon wouldnt have be able to bear to be forced to live alone again. As much as i love the idea of Zyz and Zyc living happily ever after, 😍the "official" couple is Zyz and Wx. Zyz wants to live mainly because of her, we've seen how sweetly he imagines their life together. To lose her would be worse than death for him, again. That is why i cant imagine any other happy ending for Zyz than one were, at least, all 3 of them are alive. Or at most for a real plot twist, Zyc sacrifice himself and save Zyz and Wx. Still sad but this way Zyz dream can still became true thanks to him.😭 But better all 3 of them alive.🤣

I dont like modern drama so i dont know, but prob even there, if 2 half naked guys play alone giving an hint of a possible intimate moment it would be censored. To see this scene like that surprised me too 😊 Maybe was the costumes. I can undastand LL becouse that was one of his usual costume but Zyz? He wear that red robe only there, to run? Impractical. I saw a photo with it and i though that HMH only wore that for a photo session, it turn out it wasnt like that. He wore that outfit ONLY for that scene and it doesnt even make sense for Zyz to wear that robe instead of his usual costumes for a run. 😅 It feel too intimate like this and prob even for the director who cut it. It was strange to shot a scene like that in that way from the beginning, but still... what a shame.
