That old rag smell was the smell of poverty. Ah, the condescendance of the wealthy! And the cowboys and Indians birthday party, now that's a real trauma for Da-song! No amount of Art Therapy is ever going to fix that sh*t.
I upped my rating from a 6.5 to a 7.5 after watching the last 15 minutes of the film.
There are no worse animals than humans. The ironic twist of a life saved versus a life taken was disheartening. And to think that this was based on a true story... Poor (real life) Zhang Lei!
OH, AND VEGETARIANS & VEGANS, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM WATCHING THIS FILM!
This gives us a great insight into the lives of (Asian) idols, the demands thrust upon them, and the often outrageous (from a westerner's perspective) sacrifices that are expected of them by their management companies and fans. There is not much romance, just life's struggles and the heartwarming family moments when the obstacles are overcome.
Starts out slow, but ends with a bang. Stick through the series even if you feel like dropping it in the early episodes. Episode 6 through 10 are excellent! I particularly loved Cosme's storyline, and the emphasis on forgiveness and redemption. I laughed out loud and hard so many times. Very well done! One of the rare dramas I would love to rewatch...
I have seen a number of time-travel themed movies and dramas; this one in particular reminds me of the French comedic trilogy Les Visiteurs. Light and entertaining.
A very beautiful film, an ode to living life in spite of one's disabilities. Keiko Kitagawa's acting was absolutely superb, especially the recovery scenes after the car accident; brilliant! Knowing that this was based on a true story is one thing, seeing the little surprise at the end was another... I could not help but cry.
OMG, who needs an enemy when you have a friend like Sol?! Though the incompetence of the Thai Police seriously irked me, and there was no retribution for Jo’s actions, I thought the ending was great. Can you imagine what those two are going to do to one another?
Sol + Ai (Your Garden Variety Psychopaths) x Tiger (Your Grieving Guilt-Ridden Slut) ÷ Nana (From Wherever She Is) = Love Triangle From Hell
If there is ever a Season 2, those 3 are not going to make it out alive, lol.
This is one of those stories you never forget... A haunting film.... Very sad, and triggering. I saw the film when it came out 6 or 7 years ago; I never forgot it, yet never had the courage to rewatch it again.
And when you think that this film was based on a true story, watching it gives you more of a thrill, doesn't it? Jang Dong Soo's smile towards the end was priceless: "You S.O.B., amma f*ck you up in here!" LMAO!
I recall crying when I watched this amazing film 11 or 12 years ago. It left an indelible mark in my memory; I would never forget it. The above synopsis unfortunately spoils it. It is an emotionally tasking watch, so be prepared, but it is a definite must-see. Another film, which I saw shortly after was Cherries. Please check it out. https://kisskh.at/5380-cherries
Contrarily to the majority, I prefer the Chinese version Lobster Cop. I did not find Extreme Job that funny. Please check out Lobster Cop as well. https://kisskh.at/30136-lobster-cop
