I have a historical question. I’ve never seen a Chinese drama where the female characters feet are bound. Is that a story choice? Or perhaps do they avoid times in history where it was more common? I of course hate the practice, but it just occurred to me today. S

Scared together or scared of each other?

I just saw a trailer for this show and I’m intrigued. Can anyone compare this to another drama so I know a bit of what style to expect?

She’s walking with the 2nd lead, male lead comes and takes her away only to tell her they need to stay apart…. If I were her I’d be wondering why I couldn’t have stayed with the other guy.

Im only on episode 3. I’m not sure yet whether he knew his circumstances when he hired her, but guessing by his nonchalant act with how he selected her…I think he did. So my question is…wouldn’t have been easier to keep her safe by not hiring her? Secretly doing good for her and meeting her in two years?

Is this a boy love? I’m confused by the clips I’ve seen and the description? I haven’t started this yet, but I’m wondering if it’s a boy love or a spring is green type drama.

Can anyone suggest any other dramas with a similar feel to it? Especially the relationship dynamic. After watching Goblin again I went back to this and realized I’m just in the mood for romances that feel cozy. I can’t think of any, and I’m tired of the boys over flowers/mischievous kiss dynamic.

In the first few minutes the government suppresses the media to some extent. Then in real life the government tried to suppress the media so they could declare martial law. Does anyone else remember them postponing the show because of it? About midway?

Rewatching it makes that plot point a bit creepy to me.

Well, at least we’re familiar with the type by now. He is good at confident rolls.

Honestly…I’m relieved. I don’t mind a repentance story, but I don’t love when they pretend something isn’t as bad as it is. For a bit I thought they were trying to downplay the horrors of gang life.
