It was the hardest thing for me on this show. I had to start ignoring it when the characters brought it up.

I’m on episode four and I’m curious, is the pacing in this a bit faster than other dramas in this genre? (I’ve only seen a few). I’m sure there will be impediments but it feels as if they’re almost in a relationship.

I read somewhere that the ml pretends to get drunk and forces himself on the fl, is that true?

I definitely get in the mood for what you just described. Most of the time I watch romance, but occasionally something like this just hits right. I’ll keep this one on my to watch list for that kind of day. Thank you for your help!

I haven’t gotten to see the humorous attempts to win her back but my take has been very similar. I think he was attracted to her before they officially met, and was very moved by her original speech. I think he saw in her a plant that could be molded according to his desires. I do believe he fell for her, but decided to keep his distance from her emotionally when he saw her lies. I don’t think it took away from his attraction to her, but I do believe it took away from his desire to emotionally connect with her. I agree with your assessments. I think he saw a lot of similarities between her and fang lei but one could give him the life he desires whereas fang lei could only desire him and all his perks. I agree with you, that two things can be true at once. And I think he probably didn’t know that being attracted to him included the fact that he was influential, but for the female lead that was incidental. For most women it was probably a key factor, whereas for the female lead it was his attentiveness and affection. I’d have to guess he purposely shut off that affection when the female lead no longer seemed “true” in his eyes, but that he still was attracted to the benefits of her.

May I ask your stance on it? I’m looking forward to seeing it. I’m almost to episode 17 and am finding his behavior interesting. He’s definitely showing signs of regret though he also looks confused. Your assessment of him seems very accurate.

Do you think he’s malicious in fourteen? Maybe arrogant/spoiled? I’m curious about what his cruelty might stem from. I’m so curious about that episode

I kept pausing it to calm down. Sometimes I’d run an errand before I could watch more.

I’m already gritting my teeth in a half dread. When she cries … man she’s Good at crying scenes.

Boy isn’t that the truth. And it was a uniques stress. I don’t think I’ve seen a drama with this sort of theme before.

I’ve noticed some of the tension in the show starting to ease. It’s seems that he knows everything, I’m guessing he probably always has. (His character was very good at reading her when they met). I can also see he’s written as very attracted to her, but his behavior goes beyond attraction and into affection. I’ve even enjoyed a few scenes of their more playful side. All of these things make me believe I won’t hate him. People do and say really crummy things, but some people repent and that can be enough sometimes. (Not in every drama I’ve watched but in the majority when done well.) I look forward to meeting his more genuine self. I’ve never seen a drama hold back on revealing so much of the male leads personality.

I kinda hope not, but…I haven’t seen the climactic part everyone has hinted at. Is that soon? Will I dislike him for a time?
