Title Winter Begonia Spoiler
Can anyone tell me what actually happened in the end did Shang chi rui die or not like I'm confused he saw them…
No dying:) wishful thinking born illusion maybe? Or maybe Shang laoban is still running while they're shown waiting at the end? Open to your own interpretation;) Could you please mark this as spoiler so people don't get random heart attacks? The ending sequence is a bit confusing because, apparently, it was remade a lot due to censorship. There is a 'gift' ending posted by one of the screenwriters titled 'Xiao fengxian ran away with the general':)) You can watch it here with Chn subs: https://m.bilibili.com/video/BV1Uk4y1r7KP

Just finished - was expecting a frustrating ending but instead I'm grinning from ear to ear:) I really liked this series, it was both intriguing and entertaining. I've certainly seen more engaging spy thrillers, but there were (refreshingly) no blatant plot holes, so it's still a plus for me. The relationship in the center developed very naturally, with some memorable moments between the two MLs. If you like star crossed romances in a historical setting, definitely give this one a try! Once again thank you to the kind soul who shared the uncut version in the discussions section:))

If you are hesitating whether to watch it... Don't:) This is such an enjoyable show! There are links posted in…
...about what is the best way to let a girl know who is your significant other? Feed him the sweets she just made with her own hands, with your own hands! A little awkward, a lot funny;)

My bosom friend is deceased! Oh the feels, the feels:D I saw someone saying that this is Youku's old trailer from Feb. Could you believe they posted the whole thing without changing a word of these awful subs, not correcting ZZH's name, and not removing the screen that says 'only available at yk':D Is this still lazy or already incompetent… I feel so bad for yk, that they promoted this skeleton from their closet:D They've put so much effort into improving their subs later. Saw in the comments reply from N about ep37:"At the moment, there're 36 episodes available with us, and there's no further information about episode 37 availability. However, you can keep an eye at our official social media accounts for content news"

Probably they think that suddenly changing the name will be confusing to intl viewers who may not understand Chinese.…
LOL wouldn't letting people hear A-xu 200 times subbed as Zhouxu be very confusing to them? They could just put a short explanation of what a/lao indicate in brackets… I don't understand why they've ignored cultural context and relationships dynamic. Why is CL calling everyone Mr. XYZ?? This seriously messes with the family feels:( CL calling Lao Wen 'wen shu' was so sweet. Did the translators watch the series at all? If they saw that softest 'Lao wen' ever in the sunbathing scene, I think they'd facepalm at themselves:D

I just went from a total high after seeing A-xu on my screen, to a dissapointed slump after watching the ending.…
I already wrote a few days ago that I don't agree with that assumption:) https://kisskh.at/59021-tian-ya-ke#comment-6236033 Of course, they've intentionally hid the ending in an mv. They've also made it part of the official playlist and tweeted for people to go watch it. Whatever the reason it's not on Netflix/Prime, this is still a huge improvement for me over having to comb through social media to get the intended/censored HE, like I had to do with other series.

I just went from a total high after seeing A-xu on my screen, to a dissapointed slump after watching the ending.…
I agree with you:) I never doubted for a second that Lao Wen is gonna survive. I really didn't think the screenwriter would mess up the psychology of YBY's character for him to sentence A-xu to that same lonely fate he suffered. It's just that this last scene, with them sharing those loving looks and getting lost in each other, is one of the most striking visually and emotionally for me in the whole series. So I guess I just got momentarily frustrated that the new viewers won't get that emotional high right after ep36 like I did:)

I didn't finish it because I saw too many spoilers on insta and youtube that I no longer was too interested in…
Maybe just put it on hold for a bit and clutter your head with other things to blur your memory? To me, the most enjoyable part were the interactions, and the small, intimate moments between plot points.

OMG Netflix also only has 36 episodes!!!
I just went from a total high after seeing A-xu on my screen, to a dissapointed slump after watching the ending. I still think the lack of paywall may be the reason, even though it makes little sense at this point. But after that locked happy camp lld edit, people have been joking that things behind paywall don't exist. I really hope you're right though, and it's just negligence.
To have WOH on Netflix without ep37, or to not have WOH on Netflix at all... That is the question;)

I am afraid that the production is trying to discreetly erase the happy ending. Now that it reaches wider, international…
Lol, I actually do agree with you. I just took a guess, seeing as this clip was locked on 4 sites already, that it may be some kind of "requirement". Don't ask me where's the logic in any of that, I wouldn't know:) Do you really think Netflix will attract such an audience? I'm not sure it will change much for my country, if they only add eng subs… I mean yt/Viki have subs in almost 20 languages by now. In any case, I still think that if someone has even a slight interest in this series and goes online, they'll bump into immortal WenZhou pretty quickly. I do hope to be pleasantly surprised on Friday, while mentally preparing for all the screenshots with horrible subs:D

What? I protest that description! And I agree it's confusing. How is it a sequel? It's literally 3 mins cut off from ep36. Why not change the number of eps to 37 and put this one as special/epilogue like IMDB has?

The official playlist on yt and Line TV also have ep37. I haven't really seen any moves from YK trying to restrict the widespread sharing or hide its existence so far. The whole narrative around the concert was pretty much built on this epilogue being the true ending. They even got those big WenZhou immortals figures at the venue. Honestly, that clip has been available on all major Chinese and intl sites (including youku) and all over social media since March. It's also easily searchable on Google. So, that paywall is more theoretical in my eyes:) Maybe Prime/Netflix won't include it simply because they don't allow additional payments?
PS Episode 36 is also a happy ending;p

This was heartbreaking!! I started shouting multilingual obscenities at 19:30, so he was certainly convincing in his role;) Thx for sharing!

Title Word of Honor Spoiler
WWX is a misunderstood hero. When he experienced tragedy, he was already in his teens, and so his desire for revenge…
I've just realized I can no longer comment on drama!wwx, cause I have book!wwx so firmly stuck in my head. Another difference was that, there was no yin metal pieces in the book, so they were fighting only people, not puppets, during the sunshot campaign. I can't really put the whole of WRH's clan into the 'bad Wens' category. I mean, there's a line behind which you can no longer call yourself a victim in my eyes. You're right, LWJ did criticize WWX's methods as too bloody, while the sects, (the lovely sort that they are;)) didn't care. Still, WKX at least gave people a chance to back down for the most part, while WWX's methods were basically the equivalent of carpet bombing his opponents. I really liked the book btw:)

Now, WKX's revenge I'm totally fine with. I'm not a very vengeful person irl ...at all. For some reason, I've always loved those Count of Monte Cristo-style revenge plots, where you give people enough rope to hang themselves with, and just stay back and watch the show. But then, I really enjoy all the crackpots, misfits and freaks in the cinema:) So, I guess WKX just fell into my favourites box. Thank you for the discussion:)

WWX is a misunderstood hero. When he experienced tragedy, he was already in his teens, and so his desire for revenge…
Oops did I mix up the book with the series? It's been a few months. I don't think WWX is evil at heart, but I also don't think he's an innocent victim:) During the war he raised an army of dead Wens, who then went on to kill their comrades/families. That's why everyone was so terrified of him and ready to turn against him later. Also in the book there's no second flutist, so it's WWX that loses control.

I forgot WKX was such a happy puppy that night:) Grrrr, why even the smallest things make me want to go rewatch. I guess, I just didn't see this as part of his true nature. I thought most people coming from that hellhole would've had zero compassion to spare for the greedy 'heroes' offing each other. I also saw a lot of desperation in his face during that conference, but maybe I just talked myself into it... I'm pretty sure though that he partly channeled the crazy for effect:)

WWX is a misunderstood hero. When he experienced tragedy, he was already in his teens, and so his desire for revenge…
I actually thought TU messed up the psychology of that character. I never bought that 'my conscience is clear' WWX. Cause did he or did he not mass kill all those Wens? When I read the book later, I was like ...yeah this makes much more sense:)
I love the Wen lunatic persona:D I didn't get the feeling that he delighted in the deaths and chaos though. More like, he got totally desensitised growing up in that kill-or-be-killed environment. I really liked that he didn't have an immediate change of heart upon meeting A-xu, but was still dead set on his plans until he started to unravel at that uncle Long's story halfway through. Though I wish badass guigu chief was given more screen time, WKX's self-doubt and self-hate later on is what really struck my heartstrings:)
