Does anyone know the song at the end of episode 28? (Please, I'm desperate)
Not sure which song you mean but maybe you'll find what you're looking for on this playlist by YiguoSubs: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLt9c1_E0P9OSjNt5uATspaW8vkyoc1Jm&si=vJeT8RXHY0szSUjs They cleaned up some of the background music and translated all songs. It's truly a shame the OST was never released. There's some beautiful music in this drama.
I can't believe it's been half a year and jitd still hasn't been picked up by another streaming service! I guess it's destined to remain a buried gem...*heartfelt sigh* I was curious how it was doing in China and went to check douban but it seems to have been removed?! I got a message that the page doesn't exist. Don't know if it's just temporary or because of my location? It made me feel somewhere between sad and pissed because it's just so (I better self-censor here lol) I mean even if the drama was cancelled in China, people still could go there and show their appreciation. But I guess it was doing too well - saw screenshot it got to 8.5 with close to 55k votes - someone got butthurt or did I miss some drama online? Anyway, this is still my favourite drama of the year (tied with US 'Interview with the vampire'. I just finished that show and loved it to pieces) and the diehard optimist in me hopes we get to see it somewhere, somehow this year;)
Ooh, the 'not me' dream team is back! I only planned to check out the first ep, but ended up bingeing all four. Loving it so far! Seductive and thought-provoking = the best combination. Plus, I really like this director's visual style. Haven't seen OffGun since not me and they're looking very very good.
Thank you @Wenxia for this list of Tencent X Theater dramas. I am currently watching and enjoying a recent addition:…
Thank you for letting me know about the new drama! I've updated the list now. I agree, all these stories look quite interesting and more diverse than iqiyi light on. I just wish I had time to watch them all. Meanwhile, I'm trying to finish the dramas I started in Julyš«
I watched JITD when it first came out years ago and now just picking it back up by watching thru other links.…
Yes, because some people believe there's a causal link between the zero degree empathy gene and criminal behaviour and demand mandatory testing on everyone as prevention I guess. It's sort of an ongoing social debate in the background.
Janitor is the big mystery of the series. At first we only know, because of the book choices, that the podcaster has knowledge on who's behind the crimes investigated by SID, but it's not clear how far they're involved or what their motivations are. It's all gonna be explained later on. Happy watching:)
I really like Su Liangās character. I think the actor played him wonderfully in all aspects to make this character…
Me too! At first I was sceptical because that first convo idiom mangling and āgusu de guā joke was really staleš But I think the actor won that quirk in the end and gave the character a lot of personality. He's like a slightly batty but good-natured uncle, everyone likes to be around;) Besides being a visionary, I think he's good at getting the measure of a person. I think he saw Shande's determination and decided that awkward guy might actually have a fighting chance:)
Hereās a link for anyone whoās searching for this drama with good subtitles:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12W7OVJeq--6Lj5I-lKnNg8cuuotdMpRD
I second @TinyMoose. Delete it and post the link to the Tumblr account. You're using someone's work for free. That's just basic courtesy!
Just finished ep17: The experiment arc was fantastic! Kept me at the edge of my seat and made me emotional with everyone working together. The Shande x Su Liang brotherhood is surprisingly growing on me:)) I also loved the short intro about Shande meeting his wife. She's funny. I finally feel like the plot has direction and isn't going in circles. Generally, I have the same feeling as I did with the last Cao Dun drama I watched (Hunter) - when it's good it's amazing, when it drags it's like sucking litchi jelly through a straw.
Wow this is a blast from the past! and a full-length adaptation?? Nice! I'm not in the mood for Chai Jidan's brand of humour right now, but someone please tell me if that scene where WSW pelts glass dildos at Chi Chengās father through the window made it into the drama. I always felt it had great cinematic potential;)
I finally got to watch the last episode and What. A. Beautiful. Ending! It honestly exceeded my expectations. I probably look like Du Jia right now crying into my ice cream but I'm just so happy everyone got closure and so grateful we got to see the full story! That last shot will stay with me for a long long timeā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
so in the novel there is no apaths? it's only in the drama. but it doesn't make sense than couse all the drama…
No apaths but the book touches on the subject of nature vs nurture and the inheritability of criminal behaviour. Plus book FD feels similarly about whatever genetic predispositions he inherited from his father, so that mutation doesn't really change the plot of the drama in a significant way. Also, I don't think it was ever confirmed in the show that PS or his father were apaths. In one of the early eps Tao Ze tells as much to Lan Qiao. The testing is not mandatory and the results don't seem to be conclusive. I think they wanted to leave it to our own interpretation.
I'm all caught up! Sooo excited about the finale. I hope no bs open endingš
Ep28 was fantastic! Deeply emotional from the first scene to the last ā¦and PS's smile when they talked about passwordsš The words remained unspoken but I sure could feel the sentiment in that look.
Ep29: they're closing all the threads very quickly, which is a pity, because I quite liked that part of the book and hoped to see more of it on-screen. But I'm glad they didn't linger on the brothers. Poor WZ, just one step behind š„ŗ
Can't believe PS has Zhang Donglan saved in his phone as āphilosopherāš I missed that guy! Heās hilariously sincere. If he and Du Jia got a spinoff, I'd totally watch it:D
Ep27: Iām glad I delayed watching this ep, it was intense and heartbreaking. I loved the suspense and the way…
Same! Those scenes of Xiao Wu radiantly smiling and taking care of Yang Xi were such tearjerkers. I was wondering why they made her an intern at SID, cause she didn't really do anything there. I guess it was all so they could kill us with those scenes laterš
Yeah, it all seems to always circle back to the theme of free will vs determinism, but I have a hard time accepting the way she shot him. She could've threatened him first, so they could run away... I'm starting ep28 now fully prepared for more gut punches;)
I remember Xiu 'er said that when her mother was ill, her father didn't tell anyone about it, including her. The…
Interesting, I haven't considered it. That'd make their relationship even more complicated. I completely agree with you about the reasons for his resentment towards Shande - it's the resentment towards his father that got me puzzled.

Why this drama was censored twice is anyone's guess really.
