Ep 7: Okay so I'm having a weird experience with this BL. It's not badly cast, filmed, acted or directed, in fact,…
Doesn't it all boil down to emotional engagement? With limited cast and story that focuses on relationship with minimal external conflicts if you don't get invested in the leads emotional journey there's not much else to keep your interest. Happens to me all the time, that's why romance in general is a big hit or miss for me.
I personally avoid people like Jin, using this type of emotional manipulation in my life, so if I were Akin I…
I don't understand your comment. So you don't think he's been emotionally manipulative with Akin? Well, that's how I see it. He didn't ask if Akin was OK, how he was feeling or what happened. What he did was withhold the truth, stew on the flight then unload it all on Akin making him feel shittier than he already had.
I like Boom's acting more and more every episode. That black turtleneck reminded me of Peter in Chains of Heart. I'm even kind of sort of tempted to go and finish that series now:) I think the way it went down between Akin and Jin was true to the characters. I wasn't really surprised with how they reacted. The only thing I find inconsistent is the absence of Akin's management team. It's their job to make sure he doesn't get into situations that could harm him and his career. He needs to fire them asap and hire someone who actually cares to do their job. I personally avoid people like Jin, using this type of emotional manipulation in my life, so if I were Akin I would've kept going and never looked back. But I like how they’ve written their story so far and I'm very curious to see what happens next. As for Johnny, was that a powerplay or is he gonna blackmail Akin? I'm not gonna keep my fingers crossed for them to properly deal with his actions, but I hope they at least give Akin empowering moment.
This episode was boring, esp after the amazingness of the last episode lol. Akin caring this much about the sexiest…
I think exactly the opposite:) I really liked that they gave us an episode that was all vibes and delayed the angsty plot. I think changing the type of award better fit the theme they're going with - how online popularity can affect actors' jobs and how entertainment works today. I think they at least suggested that the producer rigged the vote to create more buzz for the series. The flashbacks show akin never wanted to get caught up in the popularity, but he did and since he's proud and emotionally constipated having a hard time dealing with it, on top of everything else, was understandable to me. I don't think I would want to watch the angst of him losing an acting award to Jin. Feel like that would've been a much bigger hurdle between them.
They definitely suggested it. He wants to promote the series and Jin winning created a lot of buzz. They showed us last week that he's using water army, so changing the result wouldn't be difficult.
Ep9: that radio phone call scene had me rolling. I was so certain it was you-know-who calling that I was saying loudly to myself “no! don't do it, you shagua!” Got me again lol
Xiasheng dropping that question right before the end credits on ep8 was so well done. I just had to come here and say that I really like this series. Still not sure about the way the plot is going, I need to think on it more, but I do appreciate how often it surprises me, turning in a direction I haven't anticipated. I love the soundtrack, attention to detail, and the dark comedy vibes. With this drama you never know if the next scene is gonna be funny or heartbreaking.
Lead actor so far seems meh. He is definitely no Walter White. I see no intelligence lurking there. And then this…
Yeah, I think it's best not to expect genius level- anything out of this show. But I'm still very entertained up to ep6. I really like the brothers relationship and Xia Sheng is giving me so much anxiety lol.
I'm still waiting for the right mood to watch BB... Maybe on the 20th anniversary I finally start it😁
No, because it was a key scene in the book. If you just watch the drama, it probably won't be too noticeable.…
Same! The amount of anticipation I felt when they showed him entering the room with the ice-cream… For sure they could've given us better than a gap in the narrative.

Maybe or maybe because the girl acted kinda provocatively in that scene. I mean I knew it would be censored, but it could've been easily rewritten to fit the guidelines and still be a good scene. The way it cut off without them talking just felt very anticlimactic to me.

From what I remember, he tricked her into talking by first ignoring her, then treating her like an incapable child and a victim. She couldn't stand it because she despised victims and wanted to show off. The more shocked he acted at her words, the more eagerly she revealed sordid details about the crimes. Maybe it wasn't a key scene but very memorable and had great cinematic potential;)
The collective trauma from that honey on carpet in this thread😂 Reminds me of when Unforgotten Night dropped and half the comments were about a running tap in the background. I somehow never notice these things. What would I do without you guys on mdl bringing it to my attention<3
How do you guys know that the interrogation scene was cut? It is just an assumption ? Or were initial scenes leaked…
No, because it was a key scene in the book. If you just watch the drama, it probably won't be too noticeable. But for me, it also felt very disappointing to see that scene omitted from the case.
