I don't know if it's true but I hope they are not going to cancel the special episode only because some stupid…
Come on... This is not C-dramaland!! What happened?

You're not alone. I also don't get it. I was hoping till the very last second that they would disregard the book,…
Lol, I do mind. I need for sad endings to be firmly anchored in the story. In this case, I just fail to see the reason why they needed to give one to Khun Yai and Jom. But, I understand it's not your point:) I totally get how you feel. Every time I see a comment saying it's a happy ending my fingers itch to correct it😁 …which I don't do. Because I'm not mean;)

I haven't read the novel, so I can't comment on the plot. But if the story really involves Jom falling in love with two Yais just to lose them, and the two Yais falling in love with Jom just to lose him, that sounds a bit too melodramatic for my taste. If season 2 ever happens, I hope they change it or at least give us better explanation for everything that happens.

I'm very confused by people saying this has a happy ending. Am I missing something? I just finished watching it…
You're not alone. I also don't get it. I was hoping till the very last second that they would disregard the book, and let those two live out their lives together (in whatever timeline). I mean, they made me fall in love with that beautiful soul that is Khun Yai and get invested in their happiness for 12 long hours, just to make him a long gone memory at the end?! I honestly don't understand why they didn't go with a more ambiguous ending. At least allowing for a possibility that it was the original Khun Yai in the last scene. They didn't give us any explanations to the mystery anyway🤷

do you think its a "strong" bromance?
Sorry, I have no idea. I watched this in Chinese. Maybe dailymotion?

Strong is one way to put it😁
It's super weird and super cute. It's clear the writers wanted to play with bl tropes and had a lot of fun with it! But if you're asking me if it's romantic or platonic? For me it's the latter. But, well, who's gonna stop you from shipping whoever you want.
Anyway, the friendship between the main trio is all shades of awesome (and goofy;)
Watch it! It's a gem! The most entertained I've been all year.

is there anywhere to watch this legally in the states?
Youku. The TV version is free. The uncut is VIP only but it cost 3$/month I think.

In a general sense, the one criticism I have for this drama is that there was not enough control over the narrative.…
I also read book spoilers about Yai reincarnations. But my point was that I wished it was better explained in the drama itself. I'm a firm believer that dramas/movies should stand on their own. If we have to know what happened in the book to make sense of what happened in the drama, then imo it's a flaw. I just felt too confused by this ending to find it satisfying.

Yes, I was talking about that engagement dinner. Honestly, it's not a big deal. I can easily guess what happened. That Jom, James and Fongkaew pulled their resources together to put Robert in jail. I just felt slightly disappointed by how many things happened off-screen. I was actually hoping for Yai to be the one to help his sister (and stop the engagement). We saw him talking to James about investigating Robert, but never saw any results. We also never saw Jom and Yai discuss this together. Or many other important things tbh:) Jom tells F. about Yai's investigation, but we never see them actually making any plans together to expose the truth, etc. In other words, I would've preferred to actually SEE them working together to pull Robert down. That's what I meant by under-explained - that much of the context is missing.

I would love a second season! There are so many ways to make the story interesting. Jom wearing modern clothes when he meets commander Yai definitely puts a big question mark on when?! exactly did he travel to meet him. Unless it was just a dream?;)

Title Bloody Romance Spoiler
There are folks who wish Gong Zi was Wan Mei's love interest, even though he is a red flag. In Chinese forums…
What? No way. I love Gong Zi but that guy tried to mold her into the shape he wanted her to be, by cutting off her exits and leading her to make choices she wouldn't have made otherwise. She pretty much said as much to his face. It boggles my mind for real. Not accepting him was clever of her!

Weirdest bromance I've ever seen lol. Yiyong's mom is pure awesomeness. Whoever wrote the dialogues has a lit sense of humour<3 I'm enjoying this drama so much! It's hilarious, yet touching. But waaaaaay too short. Got only one episode left and I'm kind of unwilling to hit play…

Omg I just saw Nonkul in a Taiwanese drama! Except, I didn't recognise him with a normal haircut🤦 Just thought briefly he was the hottest guy in the whole show. Only after he started crying, I was like… wait! I know that beautiful crying face. Well, then he started speaking Thai lol. I really liked the way he sounded in Chinese btw. Haoting<3

Are we getting the special ep tomorrow? I miss them!

I should start by saying I love this drama to pieces. I plan on rewatching it until the day I die or season 2…
In a general sense, the one criticism I have for this drama is that there was not enough control over the narrative. In some of the arcs, the timeline got confusing or the scenes didn’t tie into a clear storyline. Like the big dinner reveal which was impressive but also very under-explained. Because the mystery was not resolved and the ending is open to interpretation (with s2 not certain at this point), I felt some scenes ended up not fitting together or being unnecessary to the main story. Of course, for someone who read the book, those could’ve been very significant. But that shouldn’t be a prerequisite.

I know that reincarnation is the book canon. But I would have never guessed it just from the show! Nothing in the last few minutes points to it. Also, that doesn’t explain many other scenes like warrior Yai playing mermaid. This show really lacked an element that would’ve tied all the fantasy parts of the story together into a single narrative.
My friend who binged the uncut version this weekend was convinced it was actually a sad ending. That Yai was an illusion born out of grief. When I said maybe he was a ghost tied to that chest full of their memories, he liked that idea even better…
Let's be honest, the letter combined with that line about always being there and Yai’s stoic demeanor in the reunion scene make ghost a very likely explanation:) I don't think that was intentional. So really team, please control your storytelling better next time.

Imo they should either cut the letter scene altogether, allowing for the possibility that the original Khun Yai traveled to the future (making the ending completely ambiguous) or provide an explanation of who that Yai lookalike is!

I've seen comments from people wishing the reborn Yai got more screen time, but for me that would have been even harder to swallow. I'm very grateful to the team that they kept this Khun Yai&Jom story to almost the very end! Well, I guess I could stubbornly stick to a happy ending for those two using parallel timelines - Maybe Khun Yai managed to find that buried ring after Jom was gone, which allowed him to travel in time and find his love in 2023:) He may have died thousands of times pining for Jom but finally in one timeline it worked! Ok, maybe that’s a tiny bit less likely than reincarnation;)

I should start by saying I love this drama to pieces. I plan on rewatching it until the day I die or season 2 gets released:) I wasn't at all prepared for the strength of my emotional response to the love story at the core of this show. It completely defied my expectations. No fluff. No eye-rolly theatrics. Just genuine, passionate love and intimacy. I mean they made me weep during a sex scene?! That was definitely a first.

But, I do need to rant a little about the ending. The way I was bracing myself for the resolution to Khun Yai's story. Convinced they would go with the book version that’s gonna break my heart. Meanwhile this drama…. Nah, resolved endings are so troublesome. Let's just drop a shitload of contradictory clues and run for it=D I can't talk about it without major spoilers so I'll continue below.

Yes and no:) Whenever I think of Khun Yai, I'm so not ready. He's such a beautiful soul. But I'm also insatiably…
