For now I don't know, first episode wasn't bad but didn't get me hooked? Too much politicalese for the prologue imo Her secretary is so pretty I hope to see the actress in main roles in the future
I'm liking this drama so far, especially how the ml is characterized. He's so gentle and empathetic and I can't help but cheering for him! The only thing that doesn't make much sense to me is how is he making money? Who is hiring him, since the ghosts are dead they can't sign contracts and pay him? Why are they showing up one by one, and why now? I hope later on the drama will give us a coherent explanation (I'm curious if the fl's sister or his dad will show up at some point. That probably would be intense)
I find it so stupid that child protection service say stuff like you are not suitable because I child can’t…
Yeah and that thing made me reflect because generally speaking, governments (every nation has their own laws but it seems something common) are not that rigid with biological parents. I'm not saying they're not supposed to watch over every situation and make 10000% sure the child is safe but I heard too many cases of child abuse perpetrated by real parents where it could have been avoided.
A house with a 1 year old and two adults always busy ALWAYS spotless and the kid is as relevant as a frame on the wall. At this point they gtp'd the plot other than the opening D:
Confession in 6th episode cause there is a lot of things to cover and it's just how things move. As for the confession…
I understand your point of view and again I'm not complaining, on the contrary a person who's independent and responsible is much more charming in my eyes. I like that we seem to have moved on from the petty and spoiled heir to a more relatable and charming characterization. That said it just feel like a switch to me, but I also have to admit that my cup of tea is the slow burning especially when it shows the gradual discovery of the other person's charms. It's a nice drama so far so I'll keep watching!
I feel like Tae Hyeong's confession was a bit abrupt...I mean I get he felt accepted for the first time in his life but he was presented as a prideful guy and his personality kinda made a u turn. I'm not annoyed at him, I actually like him better that the ones who deny it for ages and get all petty like man babies (and he's also doing a decent job with the kiddo!) but there was no transition in his arc so it feels like he was replaced with his twin haha I have this feeling that in every drama lately the characters are supposed to confess by the 6th episode? It feels too plotty imo and less organic. Also I hope they'll drop quickly the triangle because it's really too boring. The guy is coincidentally her college crush, her boss and her landlord? It's overkill even for dramaland hahaha And to be fair I want to see the interactions with the baby, that should be the focus of this series, not the corporate office romance Not relevant but as an artist I'm disappointed at the gen ai opening/ending. I've seen such beautiful art in many older dramas to think these talented artists are going to be replaced with generic 3d Disney-style models is upsetting
I was watching it because I'm in a slump but I think it's kinda difficult for me to like it because my circumstances are similar to that baby. I know this will end happily (and the guy is also filthy rich as usual xD) so at least there's that, but the fl's mother really triggered me in the wrong way. I don't even know why I'm writing this here, maybe I'm just idk wanting to put it down. It's a rom com so I don't think they'll dwell too much with her mother so I'll try see another episode
Am I alone in thinking the drinking culture in dramas is really lame?
I agree. Alcohol is cancerous and should be portrayed a bit more carefully imo, especially if the product is destined to younger audiences. Ps. I'm not here to tell people what to do, I just think the concept of getting wasted like it's an hobby can be deleterious
You hit this right on the dot, I couldn't put my finger on what was the biggest issue and then you reminded me…
Yes, the narrator was a character himself and leaving him out just changed the whole mood! Now that I think about it, this drama has a lot more in common with the other one with the same male lead, "my secret romance" than jane the virgin.
Honestly I'm watching it because I don't know what else to watch atm but since I loved the original Jane the virgin is hard for me not to compare the drama to it. I think they just removed important parts, especially in comedic terms: - there is no narrator and that's a big disappointment for me, I loved that sort of breaking 4th wall and his commentary during the whole tv show - In jtv there were all sort of trippy scenes mostly sprung from the characters' thoughts, with animations and costumes that here I didn't see (this I learnt is a typical telenovelas thing) - Rogelio was totally hilarious but his counterpart so so for now - the og show was about representation of latinos in usa, and I think it was an important pillar for the whole story, since in the kdrama they aren't a minority (I suppose? Maybe the fact the mom is unmarried and dates a lot is a bit unusual?) I doesn't hit the same way - They just don't really talk about sex here? They totally exaggerated the 2ml...I mean who is so scared of touching hands nowadays?
I know I'm being too judgy, but I had some expectations and I feel sad. they could've made the show rotating around makjangs which are very similar to telenovelas in terms of absurdity. I'll keep watching for now but I'm not really waiting for new eps like I'm doing for "showtime"
what is he suppose to do in ep 2 toilet scene if he wasn't interrupted ?
“no big deal”… like he just tried to climb up the cubicle of the toilet she was hiding in, in a fit of anger and ultimately unzipping his pants…like wtf. What’s funny? even without the harassment he is being too much… just because his masculinity is too fragile. I don’t want to mock him but honestly it looked very bad, I understand she made a mistake that damaged his reputation so I was okay for him being angry but…with words. Imagine if he wasn’t the hot male lead but another “uglier”, fatter and/or older employee climbing the toilet…I think y’all can picture it since the perverted trope has been used a lot for plot purposes. I hope to see her pointing out the issue because he literally gave her nightmares!!
omg u have no knowledge abt Korean history whatsoever just by the look of ur comment Don't speak abt what u don't…
I think it was interesting to read the whole exchange but if you feel more at ease, I don’t have any interest in being prideful about it!
Just to conclude I wish to point out that my comment was a critique: 1) because I felt uncomfortable about the “Luca has no shoes” subplot (in my opinion totally unnecessary. I know there is poverty in some regions but I think it should have been portrayed more respectfully) 2) because I feel like everything is “westernized” nowadays, and not always in a good way. I made the mistake of assuming the “whitening” thing was a western influence, judging by some behaviors I may have misinterpreted. I sincerely apologise for that. but for the record it was absolutely not my intention to say “x” country is better than “y “ or anything of that sort. I’m sorry if I came out as something I don’t want to be.
wish the best to you too and good luck with your studies! (history is really a hard subject, but it’s important to know about the past and passing it generation after generation! )
