when I read about it for the first time I was a bit curious because to be honest the story is pretty old now and didn’t really aged well. The male lead’s behaviour towards fl in 2022 is simply unacceptable and if they stayed too loyal to the old characterisation viewers would have probably went (rightfully) berserk with criticism. They’re trying to refresh the dynamic poor genuine woman / rich arrogant guy without taking sides. I especially liked the scene when Thyme was at the table listening to Gorya’s family without judging them and that he also shared his pitiful story, because he is too, but in a different way. Money is an item, the whole world give it a great importance but in doing this, feelings and relationships are greatly overlooked; that’s the meaning of the idiom “money can’t buy all”. I can consider myself a “hater” of the original story (even tho the japanese adaptation kinda improved my judgement ) so I know I am a bit biased and tbh I don’t even know why I watched the korean and chinese versions if I didn’t liked the premise xD probably I was just curious to see if they “fixed” it (according to my tastes of course - the whole comment is subjective)
Wow someone else that disliked the K version! Where have you been all these years? lol
here I am too! I can’t stand the korean version and the last chinese one was waaaay to draggy and scattered in my opinion (everytime ml confesses it’s like nothing happens so frustrating)
Lee Min Ho played prince charming role in Gangnam Blues? Ahh didn't know thanks
The ones I watched he played the "hero" and look I don't hate him or else, I'm just not fond on that trope, like I don't like others, for instance the "secret identity" or "tragedy" trope... it's just a matter of taste. I'm sorry if I upset you but that's just my impression, I respect your vision even if it's different than mine
I'm at episode 3 but Idk if I want to watch further or not...I usually don't expect much when they cast "huge names" because they mostly rely on their fame and put a lot of fanservice and not much effort into the storyline. I really love the fl characterization and so far her acting is good but idk because I read that later she will become the usual damsel in distress and I really don't like that trope (she's presented as someone strong and smart who can deal with stuff on her own but Lee Min Ho always played "prince charming" roles so idk)
Her throwing tantrums like a kid in the final part kinda ruined the mood...I felt sorry for the guy lol she was complaining no one chose her but if this is how she perceive a relationship maybe she should reflect on herself...I don't think it's normal to have to use "strategy" in order to not make your partner angry (and the castle was a good idea for a date, amusement park is ok but is cliché and a bit childish imo) the whole concept of "rewarding" so she will be happy doesn't sit well with me ? The guy is very cute, especially when we get to enter his mind, but the "saying the opposite of what I'm thinking" thing is okay for the beginning, not after 10 months. And apologizing is an healthy thing to do, when you think you've made a mistake. Sorry for my complaint, I just feel bothered by how this couple is portrayed ?
Just pondering to start this drama but I am hesitant because I'm not a fan of hidden identities so, can anyone tell me if the fl knows he's a guy and if not, whe she discovers it? Thank you in advance to the ones that will reply ❤️
I’m binge watching it currently. I HATE joseon dramas, but I loved this one! I have one episode left and so…
To me the very issue is that mostly they are the same, with a prince, some ministers\queen scheming, and a poor fl ._. they're always about the royal family politics so I get very ?
