Title Reply 1988
BEST DRAMA from the REPLY SERIES <3 And one of the BEST KOREAN DRAMA
My sentiments EXACTLY. I just finished 1997 and was truly underwhelmed and I'm just beginning 1994 and this first episode suggests it's better than 1997...while I have a long way to go with 1994 I can't imagine it touching 1988. Here's hoping for Reply 1981 or 1982!!

This drama is the greatest drama I have watched yet. It is indescribable how much it means to me. I will be importing both the DVD and soundtrack. I didn't want to leave their world. Then it made me revisit my own youth in my heart and I'm crushed. I was born in 1971! It's like this drama was made for me.

Review Reply 1994
I am about to finish Reply 1988. I was told to watch this one first as it was the best. I can see why. It is simply amazing in every conceivable way. I was then instructed to watch 1997 next because it was the next best. Then 1994. You know what. I'm going to likely agree with you. I am expecting to enjoy them all, even if 1988 turns out to be the most enjoyable. You sound like me with my review of Playful Kiss. I couldn't understand the hate that received from some.

Review Reply 1988
I am going to start this series very soon. The quotes you supplied stuck me very much. I did not have a great childhood. My half sister was 10 years older and she moved out when I was 8. Then it was just my mom and myself. She worked 2nd and 3rd shifts often. Even when she was around, she wasn't the 'loving' type, but she provided a clean house, food and clothes. I was never in need in those areas.
One thing I had the unique experience of, I never moved. I grew up in the same house until I moved out at 20. I share this because of the quotes. I was a constant. Other kids came and went my whole childhood. I only had one kid that lived in his house the equal amount of time, but we weren't tremendously close. We hung out a lot, but yet not like brothers type friendship. Anyway, I look back and it's remarkable how being one of the VERY few to live in the same spot. As a kid I never gave it a lot of thought, but as an adult it is quite remarkable how I see now all the kids that came and went in my life. Kids I obviously will never meet again. My mother still owns that house, but my niece lives in it now. It is such an odd feeling when I return. It's actually almost an uneasy feeling...otherworldly. It seems like such ancient history. I was always on the go. Now I live alone and barely go out. Remarkable how life changes and people come and go. And yes, you can never 'go home again'. The days of our youth are gone forever. Fading memories that spring up now and again for various reasons, but they are nothing more than fleeting flashes of a bygone time that is gone forever for all of us. I'm 44 now. I often wonder what I would do differently if I could live life again knowing all I know now. What would I hold onto? What would be the hardest things to live through? But alas, that is nothing but a recipe in heartache. I have lived in the past all my life and doing so only brings regret and pain. I really am truly interested in experiencing this drama. Thank you for the review.

Enjoyed it immensely. If you want a very nice, compelling drama you can finish in an evening easily. Do give this one your time.

Ok. I just read in Wikipedia that this series is based on a comic book!! Lol!! So I can't fault it for feeling like a comic book made into a TV series - cause it is!! Oh and I forgot to mention, Mr Cobra had poison dripping claws too
On A Man Called God Jun 12, 2016
Ok. I was wondering if I would stay with this one. I'm at episode 11. 10 minutes to go and our lead protagonist is being attacked by....dun, dun, duuuun Cobra!! Yes folks, Cobra. A patent leather pants wearing, no shirt wearing, spikes and chains wielding a whip!! Yes a whip - LOL!!! I sorta, kinda enjoy this series. The three main lead women are drop dead beautiful gorgeous and I'm sure the ladies think Song Il Gook is HOT! Heck I'm a completely straight guy and I know he's handsome!! But this scenario took what was already teetering on comic book antics and pushed it completely into comicbookville!! It has some earmarks of James Bond, but also some aspects of Batman. No not the Dark Knight Batman, but the 1960s seriel Batman! Talk about style over substance. Yet it isn't completely without its charm, but right now if I graded it after 11 episodes of 25, it would be a 6.5 out of 10. Being a bit generous today

Han Go Eun is over 40!! WOW!! She is freakin' gorgeous!! Oh my!! LOL! I guess she was 35 when this came out, but still she is beautiful.

Some have expressed the irritation of the roller coaster ride of sucker punch after sucker punch...well first of all, it is what it is. That's really sorta the point. There always has to be something to get under your skin. However, I too get annoyed a little from time to time, especially when it boarders on preposterous and ridiculous, but BUT how I endure at every - moan inducing point - is remind myself, it will work out. I constantly tell myself that and for me it helps a great deal.

Title Jewel in the Palace Spoiler
I thought that after Jang Geum was sent to Jeju and Jung Ho kinda scolded Geum Yeong about thinking she would be different than the other Choi's that Geum Yeong was going to stop her treachery and ascend on her skills. She even told Lady Choi this, but later we find Geum Yeong back to her treacherous ways. I must have missed something, when and why or how is it that Geum Yeong abandoned this??

There's a question I have...but it might be a spoiler! If anyone wants to read my following comment and let me know - thank you.

I love your statement 'cry your eyes out with happiness'. That is the best. I have written a few reviews, but my review to 'Playful Kiss' I expressed similar tears. I'm on episode 18 of this right now and while subdued, it is a wonderful experience this far. I will be looking forward to episode 25. Thank you.

Finished. Jang Na Ra was best with her glasses. I said before she was adorable and so beautiful with them. This drama was beyond charming. For me episode 17, I believe was the culmination and was amazing. It was nice to briefly see how things were after 17, but the final episode, while cute, got off point a little and meandered with visiting all the characters, but certainly didn't sink the series. While I was completely enchanted by Jang Na Ra, Jang Hyuk was VERY good too aside from his incredibly annoying and obnoxious laugh. Oh yeah, Mi Yeong's mother never disappointed. She was excellent. As some have said, the entire cast really was nearly perfect. Definitely one that lovers of the romantic genre should watch!!
On You Are My Destiny May 27, 2016
I am just beginning episode 8. This is, so far for me, is the only drama where both love interests by the lead are genuinely good. No sinister reason to dislike one. Of course Mi Yeong ,is one of the sweetest leads ever, but Se Ra has done really nothing to root against her...hmmmm. Wondering how this will play out.
On You Are My Destiny May 26, 2016
Ok ladies always gush over the lead actors, so I am not going to hold back...Jang Na Ra is charms by the heart out of me!! She is beyond sweet and adorable!!! She is so beautiful!! To have a girlfriend/wife like her - in fact I would turn down all the money in the world and power and anything! Wow! Liking to series too...btw - LOL!! Oh, I liked her with her glasses before her transformation!!

Person Jang Na Ra
Um, girls on this site rarely hold back when they find an actor to be quite dreamy so I am not going to hold back and say...you may be the prettiest woman alive!! I think all women look prettier in glasses so I may be one of the few who preferred you before the transformation, but you are simply beyond words adorable in 'Fated to Love You'! But you are not just adorable, you are simply stunningly beautiful too.
On A Man Called God May 25, 2016
I am beginning this series to venture into a possibly new KDrama/KActionDrama area I haven't ventured into. It's on Nerflix so that makes it convenient. I am telling myself if the story or action get ridiculous to just go with it. Wonder if I will enjoy it! Here goes!

I believe I will revisit. With so many dramas to watch that's tough, but when one truly hits you...you want to return. I need to write out a review. I opened the flood gates in my review of 'Playful Kiss'. I should do so for this one too.

It was a tremendous surprise. It was very unique in some ways...at least to me. It was one of those truly remarkable surprises. I had no idea when I started it it would move me the way it did. And I shed many tears throughout, but episode 19 the rain fell!
