I'm about to start this series. For anyone who wants to know, this is on Viki of you have the premium membership. It's also on Kocowa...though you may need a membership too. Since I subscribe through Viki I get Kocowa.
I'm hoping this will make me bawl buckets of tears. Cheesy or not;)

Royal Concubine: Concubine of King and The Treacherous!!! Both are quite risque.

As of June 20th, 2019 this is on Netflix...at least in America.

This was a somber film. It started bleak and ended in tragedy. I gravitate to films such as this. While an oppressive true story, it is a compelling tale that you shouldn't miss. Life in court here offers no glamour, no reason to wish you could be a part of the Royal family. Perhaps toiling in the fields truly does offer a modicum of freedom and happiness that the politics and cruel rules of courtly life can not offer.

I could be wrong on this, but I've watched enough Korean dramas and movies to say this. Dramas are amazing and wonderful, but they often skim over some gruesome details. Movies, however, usually tackle or depict ideas or events that are too much for dramas. I have seen some sageuk movies that have shown some very racy things...oh my. So it's good to have both indeed.

Rewatching after three years. I have it a 9.5. I just love this drama. It actually cracks me up. On episode 9.

This is messy. I think lots of drama can be a 10, but then I can order my 10s from best to lessor 10!! Lol. Queen Seon Duk was my favorite military, political etc sageuk. However, I gave Jewel in the Palace a 10 too. Why? Because they both deserved a 10 for different reasons. Now if you read my profile, I did think for a moment of dropping EVERY drama .5 so that Reply 1988 was the sole holder of a 10. To mean it is the greatest experience I have ever had watching a movie, television, a play anything. It is profound on a level that is something I'm glad in my lifetime I had the opportunity to witness it's greatness. But I decided against that because there are lots of 10s to me. If the scoring allowed for 9.99 or 9.87 etc you may see a more refined score, but that gets silly. 8 or better I likely loved it. 7s are definitely worth watching if it sounds like your thing. Much less you may want to stay away. I hope this turns out ok. I did this in my phone.

I've watched because I completely adore Jang Na Ra.

Watching for the second time. I am one hundred percent completely I'm love with Jang Na Ra. If I could choose one woman in all the world she would be it. I love her most at the beginning though. She was so sweet and adorable.

I'm sorry my son was diagnosed with cancer for the second time and he is just 18.
I am going to guess Netflix let it go because there wasn't a lot of people interested. 44 episodes for many people is long, but being a family story just didn't interest enough people. If you should find it in Mandarin with Eng subs...please let me know. Thank you.

You both are making me really jealous. I would take in with English Dubs, but yes I would pay $1000 dollars for a Mandarin version with Eng subs. To hear their voices is important. I am legitimately sad. I want so desperately to have a copy to cherish for the rest of my life.

This movie has some seriously funny moments. Story is a little thin, but it's fun in that old school kung fu way.
