My usual apprehension is from the scenes where I know I'll be crying along with them. ๐ฅ With this episode, it's in wondering where Cake is finally going to lose it. . . ๐ก I had a slight clue about the prospects of a drunk AND jealous Cake, and it I was not let off the hook for a second here. ๐ณ๐คข๐คฎ
As terrified as I was for the meltdown, I loved every minute of this one. After I made it in one piece through :45 of the show, they decide to throw the #12 teaser at me for the final minute. ๐ฆ๐ง๐จ
So now I'll be of the many here that will be like, "Great. . .thanks. . .it's 167 hours until next Friday's episode and I'm going to end up counting every one of them." 167 is also likely to be how many times I'm going to watch this teaser again before next Friday. ๐
I was really impressed with the great acting in this one, from Earth and Santa all the way to Pineare and Teepor. ๐ We should all have friends out there looking out for us like this. ๐ฅฐ
I really felt for these characters with this performance, from Earth looking into the front row of seats, to Santa sitting on the steps outside. โค๏ธ It was impossible not to be affected by any of these scenes. ๐ฅ

I am really liking the characters now that I've gotten to know them, but I'm a little bit anxious about Episode #3 based on the teaser we saw. ๐ฏ
Em's hair is a lot longer, so I'm guessing that a year or two will have gone by again (or is it already uni-time)? ๐ฌ Or. . .is Em heading for a different school while the rest stay together in high school?
Is Gun going to have enough time with Golf to move on from being 'Number 8', or is Golf still going to be in the dark about it all the way through high school? ๐ซ๐ฉ๐ฅ๏ธ
I got the strong impression that Golf is attracted to Gun from the rides on the streetcar, but is he still 100% oblivious that he's sitting next to 'Number 8'? The plot thickens . . .๐

I had fun watching this episode, now that the characters are established, and the story is getting deeper. ๐
I definitely was not expecting Pluem to be turning up the flirting by a couple of notches this quickly, but then I remembered that we have got only 8 episodes here instead of 12 or 14.
The small details tonight were really cool, too, like the Cute Bunny shirt and Pluem having a poster from The Cure on his wall. ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฝโโ๏ธ
I liked the episode and the chemistry we have so far, and I'm coming back to it again next week for more. ๐

When you mentioned the director, I got serious Deja Vu vibes from another show. ๐งโโ๏ธ
'The Blues Brothers' came out in the US and it was a huge hit. ๐๐ The next year, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd got teamed up for 'Neighbors'. Insert one disaster after another for the next three months. . .๐
The director had never done a comedy before, and pre-production was a nightmare. The two actors felt they were mis-cast, so they actually switched roles before filming, so Belushi played the straight man and Aykroyd played the wild new neighbor. ๐จ๐ฝโ๐ฆฑ๐ฑ๐ฝ
The finished product didn't end up worth the effort, though. ๐ญ It was John Belushi's last film and it almost flopped, so that was sad in itself.
One lesson I will carry with me with this series (through #16, anyway) is that you can have Ohm & Fluke, great potential for side couples, great locations, expensive cars and houses, added 'bling' to everything else, and it's all for nothing if the whole thing is built on a weak foundation of screenplay and continuity disasters.
This series should also have come with a disclaimer at the beginning of each episode (like 'YYY' did) to say, "Hey. . .we had fun playing around with this, don't take it seriously, and have fun with us". ๐คน๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐คน๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐คน๐ฝโโ๏ธ

Aside from the gripes about the collapsing storyline, I'm shocked that the money was pushed into this for all of the high-end expensive settings (and horses) without addressing how much work needed to be done on the screenplay (and I'm going to say continuity again).
Usually, five or six people in the studio need to sign off on this before it gets approval to move to production, right? ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Maybe. . .this is how it's done in the BL world now and we'll see it again elsewhere. ๐ฌ

I have already found myself lacking the emotional attachment to this series that I had around Episode #6, and I have, for the most part, taken myself out of the arena to spare myself the latest extravaganza of no Rain, a high-risk brain injury patient on horseback, and a villa full of guests with cell phones. ๐ต๐ต๐ต๐ต๐ต
I'm also looking ahead at 'Between Us', '609 Bedtime Story', 'Shadow', and 'Make a Wish', hoping to see Ohm and Fluke with better material.
I'll be cautious with this one yet, but I'm still surmising that the only thing to save this series after #16 would be to bring David Bowie back from the other side, to manifest three unicorns, and to offer cameos from the entire cast of 'About Youth' (with a musical number). ๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐ช ๐ช ๐ช
