This series got off to a good start, so I'm looking forward to Episode #2. π I like the cast, the acting, and the cinematography all coming together right away, too.
I got a little bit scared at the beginning because I thought I was going to be seeing a verbatim repeat of every re-used storyline in the BL playbook. AKA: "My parents are loaded." "Look at my expensive car." "I'm walking across the parking lot in slow motion". π
I was wrong, though, and the plot here turned out to be a great beginning for something different, even with the bit of "let me take my bike helmet off, shake my hair loose, and let you see who you're falling in love with at first sight." π
For episode #2. . .I'm hoping the subtitles are a little clearer, too.
Seeiw : "If you wanna cry, you can. . .you can always cry with me" "You don't have to cry by yourself." Viewers : π¨π₯π₯Ίπππ€§π«
This hit me right away. . . π₯Ί I usually think of chemistry between people as wild passion and finishing each other's sentences. But it's also this. π¨π»ββ€οΈβπ¨π» It was nice that they took the time for a scene like this. β€οΈ
Has anyone heard any of the details on how much of Afterday's original story is still intact in this series, and how much of it was changed and adapted to make the screenplay? Just curious about that. . . π€
. . .and if anyone knows if Earth is back on his feet and walking OK? I hope he didn't have to manage the whole week on crutches. π¬
The acting in this episode was heart-breaking. π Earth knows exactly how to do it perfectly, and I see Santa can really come through in these scenes, too. π’
I wasn't sure until now that Seeiw had come to terms with the fact that it is love he feels for Cake, and I'm wondering if Cake is all but sure of it himself.
It was tough watching everything get put into boxes and the posters coming down from the walls, too. I thought that Seeiw was going to melt down seeing the room half-empty, but they played it all casually and perfectly. π
I loved this episode, just like the rest of them. β€οΈ It's quite a story that's been told now up through #8.
Between the acting, the screenplay and the OST, it was not an easy feat to get through this episode unscathed. π€ By now, I'm getting used to the urge to cry every time Earth and Santa are on screen together. In #8, it was quite a lot of screen-time.
I like how everything was handled so carefully to move things along through the rest of the school year, too.
It is definitely going to be fun to see how all of the pieces come back together when we get out of 2008 and into 2011. I'm not going to make any more guesses, either. . .I'm along for the ride and enjoying all of it, even if my eyes are blurry for the last three minutes of the episodes. π
I'm now counting down to next Friday to see Earth in the bunny suit. . .π°
If everyone out there hasn't jumped on board with how great this series is, I hope they do soon. . .even if it has to involve six hours of binge-watching and catching up to do it. π
Now that Perth Talay and Inntouch's contracts with Tricreation ended i wonder if we will ever get season two
I'm thinking we might be OK. π
I'll do some checking, but I'm guessing that filming wrapped up on 'My Engineer 2' a few months ago and it's already in post-production between now and the end of the year. ποΈποΈποΈ
So, I think you'll get to see the 'Return of Ram-King' before 2023. π¨π»ββ€οΈβπ¨π» They should already have been done with all of their scenes (Perth and Inntouch) before the end of their contracts.
I also saw that Perth just ended his contract, so I'm looking forward, too, to what he has lined up next for a new studio, a new script, and a new role.
P.S. - π¬ I did some scanning just now and I still can't confirm what I had read earlier about production starting early this summer. π
So far, I can't find anything to say that the cameras actually filmed any of it, so I guess I'm stuck in limbo like everyone else to see if they delayed cancelling it, want to recast it, or if they are keeping quiet about the details. πππ
I really thought this was a done deal in August. π«
After a well-deserved re-watch of episode #7, I suddenly was struck with a terrifying thought. . .π¬
New has got us halfway through this series to #14 and has so far given Earth three very intense scenes ending in tears up to #7. These scenes ended in tears for me, too. π’π°π
New also knows that he hit the jackpot for acting when it comes to Earth, so now I'm wondering. . . . . . . . .how many more intense scenes has he got lined up for him in the next 7 episodes?
If the trend continues, I might not survive this series without counseling. π¬
But I'll enjoy watching every episode before I get there. π
Earth and Santa both did a fantastic job with the scene on the bridge. I would have thought this was going to be about Cake having a talk with Seeiw and watching Seeiw's heart breaking in front of us. What I didn't expect was to see was both of their hearts breaking. π
The build-up to this scene over the past two episodes was nerve-wracking.
I also liked the earlier scene where Seeiw got off of his feet and was carried home by Cake. It was interesting that this was in a current episode that aired at the same time that Earth is currently off of his feet and in a soft cast. π£ Ouch. π
I didn't get any of the translations about it, but it looked like he either ended up with a sprained ankle or cracked the bottom of his foot, so I'm hoping it's the simpler out of the two. He's put up with enough already this week. π
I loved this 7th episode, but I will admit that it was a tough one to get through. We knew what was coming but we had to wait for Seeiw to find out along with us in this one.
I kept asking myself why it was taking 6 or 7 episodes to get to the next phase of the story, but now I can see with all of the character development that it took this long to get to explain how everyone feels about each other. Now I get it.
Earth and Santa did a great job in this one, and I'm guessing it's the most screen time they've had together since the first episode.
For all of you getting ready to watch #7 yet, take a few deep breaths before you get to the last 6 or 7 minutes of the episode. This ending grabbed me really hard. π₯
I'm counting down the hours for the next episode, but I'm even more curious about Episode #8 (or at least what I think is going to happen) to end the month of September. . . . π¬
This would be in regard to 'Coming Back from America'. πΆβπ«οΈ
Usually, in the case of the other series' I've seen along the way, the new episode would start with the famous banner reading, "Two Years Later", and I'd cringe, run into the next room, curl up in a ball, and listen to music for a time-out. π
I think 'Bad Buddy' and 'We Best Love' spoiled me on that one. . . π
This time, though, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what is next and what is in store for us for the next section of the series. New has always thrown a surprise in along the way, and this is going to be no exception.
Not that it matters where the hatred and bigotry come from, but did he get hurt from someone making comments on Twitter, Tik Tok or somewhere else? π I hope it wasn't from anything on this page . . .he has a lot of support here. β€οΈ
They could easily do this series for another 30 episodes, and I'd be fine with all of it. π
Considering they had a whole story to tell in about 180 minutes, it was done beautifully, so I can set aside my minor complaints about what was missing and what I wanted to see resolved, including the way the parents were portrayed in Episode 7 and then in Episode 8.
That was the only aspect that seemed really rushed for time. Having said that, I want a Season 2. π
The acting and chemistry continued to be great, and I really felt for all of these characters (good and bad). I'll be looking for everyone in their next production and look forward to seeing them in what they do next. Hopefully, it'll be more of this one. π
I finally watched this all the way through, and it deserves a rewatch already. β€οΈ I liked just about everything that they did with this series, even if there were a few plot holes that were left unexplained from the 'Kiss Me Again' episodes.
This series has (so far as I've watched with many shows) the best Dad in a supportive role. Pete's Dad, as a parent in another show, would work great to lower the anxiety level. He was great.
I did not expect this series to produce what I consider to be one of the best Top 5 scenes in any of these shows, ever made, anytime, and that turned out to be the scene in Episode 6 at 23:25.
I will forever refer to the scene as 'The Introduction of the Kao Bear'. π¨ I liked this one so much, this scene will haunt me in my sleep until 2023. π
so he has seen the commentsπ this just makes me sad he doesnβt deserve that he is doing an amazing jobπ…
I hope that he realizes how great he is along with all of the positive comments before he has to weigh in on the negativity added in. β€οΈ The negativity doesn't come from a good place, anyway. π
Being 2022, it seems like we are 20 or 30 years beyond where anyone should have to still listen to homophobic comments, yet here we are still trying and being patient. And I'm saying this from a country where there are still people who support Donald Trump and the likes of him. . . .so we still have a way to go.
Earth has to know by now that he is a gifted actor, is accepted and is talented beyond his acting, but he is still going to weigh in on all of the positive and negative feedback to get the big picture, like we all do.
Most of the negative comments are coming out of decades-old hatred and a lack of compassion instead of from genuine critiques, so I hope he doesn't give them more than a passing glance. π But if it were me in the same position, I'd read them all, too, and I'd be hurt the same way.
When anyone needs support to deal with something like this, they'll always get it from me, and hopefully from most people. β€οΈ
For whatever reasons I was personally drawn into this series, I enjoyed every episode, and it is worth a re-watch. π
I felt for the main and side characters, and I liked the way things progressed from Episode 2, to 5, to 8, and didn't seem like it was rushed or dragged. The acting was great by everyone, and they contributed to a lot of touching moments as the show went along.
I'll do a re-watch before I make any opinions about my favorite moments, but I will admit, years and years from now, that the one big thing I will always remember this series for, is that it will forever be 'The Series Where the Bear Got Its Head Torn Off'. ππ¨π₯Ί
You were all right about Sand, too. I was going to expect things to be a little less dramatic, but you were right. That escalated quickly in this episode. . .and so did the amount of money. π€
I don't know if I'm going to be ready in just one week for when Cake has a talk with Sand about America. That's going to be a tough thing to watch. π’

Wow.
I expected half a page of 'something is about to happen' and we got 30 pages worth of it instead.
