Ok but can we just talk about the cinematography though? The shots are absolutely gorgeous, the transitions are smooth af and even the editing doesn't feel choppy like most of cdramas. It's really satisfying to watch.
I've read the original novel so I can assure you that the story is a MASTERPIECE and every character is really…
The trailer isn't out yet but will probably be pretty soon, and according to Tencent's official upcoming 2021 drama list (https://kisskh.at/photos/Z2LY8_3) hyx is going to air around Spring/March, April, May or June. Btw don't worry! You can have high expectations because I'm sure this drama won't disappoint you and the screenwriter also said she'll stay true to the original novel's storyline so this adaption is ought to be a masterpiece just like the novel ;)
Someone tell me what's with the story and actors. I don't watch Chinese shows so let me know if the cast and director…
I've read the original novel so I can assure you that the story is a MASTERPIECE and every character is really well-written, whether they're the main character or a side character, the writer didn't make them, their struggles, or their motives seem any less significant than the MCs. The world building is spectacular too, it's not the usual Wuxia world where the writer just make different clans/sects and be done with it. The world of Haoyixing is legit a whole different world. As for the cast, I've seen both Chen Feiyu and Luo Yunxi's previous works, they're great actors and have amazing chemistry behind the scenes. Luo Yunxi has the most expressive eyes I've ever seen. He doesn’t need any dialogues, one look into his eyes and you just know exactly which emotion he's portraying, that's how good of an actor he is. Chen Feiyu did great job in Ever Night and outshined rest of the cast despite being a pretty new actor, his voice is also really deep yet youthful which makes him even more perfect to play Mo Ran.
In short, this drama is absolutely worth anticipating for.
I haven't seen much episodes yet but lmao am I supposed to believe that the fl's shifu is a good character and just so happens to have the most villainous laughter possible?
I know I always comment about how badly I want to see the trailer but honestly, I would legit faint from excitement if they actually did drop it one day. I basically scream for hours whenever we get some bts ranwan crumbs. This drama still feels like a dream because from the cast to the production—everything's way too perfect to be true lol.
I absolutely loved the ending so I'm not complaining AT ALL but it would've also been great if Yan liang had survived and became a police officer. We could've had a sequel where (adult) Yan liang tries to catch (adult) Chaoyang who has became a serial killer surpassing even Zhang Dongsheng in terms of cruelty and find the truth behind CY's dad's wife, step-sister's and pupu's death in the past, and CY doesn’t kill his mom but it turns out that she has always been aware of everything he did yet still protected him, A family of crazy is better than a lone psychopath imo XD
In short, I basically meant: Since we've another Dongsheng, we also need another officer Chen. It could've also resolved the misunderstandings some people had about the true ending because they couldn't understand the symbolism.
"Became the most illegitimate child of the Ding family" Most? Well, was there a competition between all the kids to decide who's the most illegitimate? 👀
This drama is a masterpiece that's going straight to my favourite drama list. I love how the writers managed to keep the drama interesting till the very last episode without making it unrealistic in any way, It didn't even feel like a fictional story to me tbh. The symbolism was also mind-blowing, it made up for the everything they had to remove due to the censorship and completely changed my perspective on the main characters.
No offense but It would be great if some users in the comment section could stop giving attention to rumours & also stop spreading unnecessary panic between the fans by sharing them. Some people might not know but literally 70% of the 'news' articles about unreleased cdramas (and China in general) are always just tinfoil theories/speculations and rumours if they're not officially confirmed, like seriously tell me why would the Chinese government share their thoughts with random article writers on nameless websites? Have you ever seen any country's government do that before? And let's not forget Chinese government would do anything to hide their decisions even from their own citizens, what would they gain from leaking it to Internet strangers now? These jobless authors literally live off fooling naive fans and can do anything for clicks on their articles so please just ignore them. It might discourage others from anticipating this drama and it's also harmful for the production team.
Edit: It passed the censorship, see? Worrying over rumours is completely useless.
I feel like most of viewers misunderstand Li Bi's intentions and take all his decisions at the face value. Yes, he SEEMS to care more about the Crown Prince than the people but let's not forget a stable Empire need a wise Emperor and the people need a stable Empire. As a loyal subject, he can't just let the future hope of the Great Tang die in a ditch and the right counselor (who has been shown to not give a single f about the people either lol) take the throne. The Crown Prince might not be perfect but he's at least better than the counselor and by supporting him, he IS basically taking care of the people. He's not selfish since he's willing to give up his life without a second thought for the people but not the Crown Prince's. Li Bi is not Zhang Xiao Jing, he's just a young man with limited experience but tons of responsibilities on his shoulders already, who has always dreamed of helping his country and is willing to spend all his life trying to archive that; he can't give everything up for a case. The only similarity Li Bi and Zhang Xiao Jing share is that they love their country no matter how imperfect it might be and this reason alone is enough for them to join hands to save it despite their differences. I love Zhang Xiao Jing too but please cut my boy Li Bi some slack, dude didn't even get a girl in the end to make up for the amount of criticism he received.
Nonexistent. Even my delusional spidey senses couldn't detect a crumb of bromance between them, but I assure you that there's no need for any romance in this drama at all. It's worth watching for the intriguing story and the well-written characters alone.
honesty me to, as long as the actors have chemistry and portray the characters correctly i’ll be happy.
Who wouldn't be? We all are fans of the original novel here, So of course everyone wants to see a cast who can portray the characters well. The point is just because an actor got suggested due to resembling XL/HC look-wise, it doesn't mean they can't act. It's alright if you don't care about whether they look like the characters or not, but it's not nice to insult the actor's talent just because you disagree with their fans. That's all.
