I still can't get over this drama. It was so addictive I binged it all in just one sitting, anyone knows some more satisfying revenge dramas? or just high school dramas that are thriller/horror? Anything binge-worthy I mean. I already saw The Glory and while I still liked it, I didn't enjoy the pace that much and it didn't exactly scratch the itch.
Whoever decided to cast Li Yitong and Liu Yuning together deserves a raise. They make such a pretty couple and I just know that their chemistry is going to set the actual set on fire.
This movie feels like depression. Everyone is stuck. They're constantly trying to escape yet they aren't able to change their life much. So they just become numb to everything and stay still, like the sitting elephant they wanted to see who, despite being constantly hit by stones, sits at the same place.
I swear Arthdal has one of the most skillfull written antagonists I've ever seen. You don't necessarily agree with them, but you can understand why they might think the way they do. Sometimes you hate them, other times you want to root for them. And they're hella intriguing to watch. I don't think I've seen a fictional couple like Tagon and Tae'al ha before, two people who fell for each other because they truly admire how much they love themselves and what they're willing to do for their ambitions. They fit like puzzle pieces.
I'm more or less fine with the recasting because about 8 years has passed in the drama and I can buy them as more mature version of the characters (although I do miss and preferred the older cast), but the visuals this time were a bit underwhelming to me — I repeat, to me.
Everything is warm/yellow-tinted, the angles don't change as much, and thus it feels monotonous; the previous season made each scene look like a painting because of the way they changed colour grading according to the context (remember how dreamy it looked when eunseom and tanya were wearing flower crowns and painting for the festival?) it did such a great job at setting the atmosphere and you couldn't help but immerse yourself into the world that doesn't exist. The background music here was also repetitive at times. I'm not saying the visuals or music was straight up terrible (because they did put in effort and I can tell that) but in comparison to the previous work, they weren't as stunning. The older episodes passed like a freeze and didn't even feel long (in a tiresome way, I mean) but this season took me quite a while to finish.
I initially watched it for Jackson yi but I must say, it was so beautifully shot and accompanied by equally beautiful background music. If I got ads like this, I would never skip them lmao.
They would actually make an interesting couple, I can totally see them together.
Indeed. I wonder how their styling would be like in this drama. Liu Xueyi looked great in the drama 'In Blossom' so I'm hoping his costumes are just as intricate here, meanwhile Reba looks gorgeous in the colour red and since she's playing as a ghost king, I feel like they might pick powerful colours for her costumes. Hopefully, they do get casted together.
Hi :) I don't know how reliable this info is, but you can take a look:https://twitter.com/chill_lin_ts/status/1723265107055272331?t=xU1af8QNCmte3LVqmuWV-Q&s=19
