Was it ever addressed why Duan Xu was chosen to have the Deliverance Sword?
It's said either in near end of ep8 and start of ep9. The way He Simu said it that the sword was given to him as a gift of redemption (because she said the sword wish to redeem him and do the right thing, that is why the sword choose Duan Xu as its master). In my point of view, Because he was assasin before going back to his real identity. He had killed a lot but was able get himself out of the situation and do the right thing for his own land and people. So I consider it as the gift he get from another world. Because the sword wanted to redeem him because he is redeemable. Swords can be used to kill however killing is sometimes required to save a larger group.
Why did Fang XianYe commit suicide? I haven't understood it. Perhaps I missed something.
Because the late emperor seem to willing to take Duan Xu to death alongside him. Bcos he was late to help the king (actually this reason was cover only i feel). So he decided to give Duan Xu death sentence and put Fang Xian Ye in Duan Xu position. Only Fang Xian Ye was present when the king gave that decree. But i dont know how someone found to steal. Fang Xian Ye didnt want Duan Xu death because of their good relationship and also he believed only Duan Xu would be able to take back their 17 lands, so he decided to say that order from the late king was fake, and killed himself so no evidence was to confirmed whether late king order was true..and also there wont be him to replace Duan Xu in general position. He did it for their land also..because he believed in Duan Xu. That is just how I understand it.
I wanted to interpret on this 22 lovers tombs of He Simu. I couldn't be serious with it. Throughout the drama, I don't have a feeling that He Simu was ever fallen in love before meeting with Duan Xu. My feelings are confirmed when He Simu told her parents tomb that she might add another tomb there (Duan Xu), not with those 22 "lovers" tombs, because he was important to her and she married him. So those 22 are either just random flings or random men who may had admired He Simu and she considered their admiration and given them a place to rest after death.
And now I can really say people who hate Chen feiyu in the name that he is a nepo baby y'all need help y'all need…
I like Chen portrayal of young reckless but also mature and responsibility of a general. At the same he can bring that emotions of young man deeply in love.
About the endings. ..I think normal one is fine. But the special just make it more solid (for me).
The ending with ep 40 is actually fine and personally although it seems open Im so sure that the little purple thing is Duan Xu's spirit for sure. Bcos everything is pointing to that. Even Chenying came like that after he died in battle. And its exactly followed He Simu and then the sun was back to the icy mountain when he arrived. And Simu was back to happiness. This gives a bittersweet ending to the cp. He Simu continued being spirit but shes not lonely anymore bcos Duan Xu is with her. If people like this ending that is a little "open" and bittersweet, they can stick to it. But for me as HE sucker, special episode ending is more solid as to Chenying willing to sacrifice for his two beloved and its indicated immortal Ziji has certain rule power to make fulfill Simu life long wish to feel alive like a mortal, that is to sacrifice her immortality to revive Duan Xu..so this makes a solid happy end to this story. Will this part be into the 40 eps story one? it definetly can. So I will be sticking this one. 💜💜
Finished all 40eps and special one...OMG...this is such a memorable drama...I will miss my foxy duan xu and beautiful spirit queen He Simu. The story is bittersweet and a little dark (maybe) yet so beautiful and Im so happy that I get a lot of romantic scenes from couple. Raba and Arthur are so perfect for this pair. The emotions they bring and the characters they brought to life is just perfect. The whole team work perfectly in fact. I give thumbs up for everyone. Of course this drama is a perfect solid 10/10 for me.
People likes are vary i guess. i see a lot of people like it bcos its HE too.. but some needs this fantasy to end in "tragic" to feel more for them. But Im HE sucker so I will stick to novel end. I will still watch drama to end though.
I think Duan Xu is a very good person, born gifted with intelligence, but he was challenged with a cruel fate and unfair surrounding. But he maintained himself to be good to others(&to himself). Its the quality I was head over heal for him.
Falling in love with He Simu is a gift & challenge for Duan Xu. He fell for her when she was this lady craving for joyfulness in life,not powerful ghost queen.But he's willing to learn her way of life,reason why he followed her to void.
I am really happy they are now back to mortal world. I like that my Duan Xu is still not giving up on He Simu. I think he at least know she has feelings for him. He is smart guy. Hope He Simu never push him away again.
