this drama probably has all the things that I love in a xianxia drama, hot main characters, tragedy, fights and…
Yea, the teamwork between the director and the actors and all the other staff really brought this drama to life. This director is super committed to his work! Have you seen the behind the scenes where he was demonstrating a kiss on another staff and Cheng Yi actually let out a surprised scream? That was sooo hiliarious!

I have already come to accept that most drama male leads are unreal. Where can we find someone like Si Feng? Only in drama land....

Actually, I felt the same way too! I kept yelling at the screen like, come on, just say you didn't do it! But, I wonder if it's related to ancient Chinese culture. Like maybe he felt he should stand in the place of the person he loved, like an altruistic type of love to protect his loved one. I don't know. Maybe someone else has a better theory that makes sense. heh. Yea, the drama is too good. It's still a 10/10 for me. :)

Ugh ikr exactly how i felt when I finished this drama If u want u can try “The Untamed” or “Joy of Life”…
Yup, Ashes of Love and Eternal Love (TMOPB) were the hardest for me to move on from before, but Love and Redemption is even harder comparatively! haha! >.< I'm actually not really an avid drama watcher, and I actually rarely came onto MDL, until Love and Redemption happened hahaha. I'm also a newbie myself. :) I'm also too busy with full time work, kids, chores and other offline hobbies. But I check MDL Love and Redemption page when I get the chance. :)

I can only watch happy endings. My poor heart can't handle sad endings. But I heard his performance in TPOC is amazing. I really can't wait to see the newer projects from Cheng Yi!

I am having a very hard time moving on from Love and Redemption. I have not fully completed another drama yet since Sept. Nothing really interests me fully and I don't want to waste my time watching something I can't really get into. >.<

Prior to Love and Redemption, I have enjoyed:
-Go Go Squid (male lead is swoon-worthy (not first impression handsome - but becomes more and more handsome) Some people complained about the female lead's fashion and childish nature. But I didn't mind it)
-Autumn's Concerto - it's an older drama so the style is more old school, but this story brought so many tears to my eyes. The guy starts off as a jerk but is changed completely by the fl.
-The Romance of Tiger and Rose - this is just a light drama to pass time, but it's enjoyable and sometimes quite silly. Not sure if this is your type of drama - usually it's not my type, but I was quite entertained by it.
-Someday or One Day - this is the kind of genre that I didn't think I would like, but it turned out to be a very well written story. There were dark components that I just skipped. Outside of those dark moments, I enjoyed most of the heart wrenching but satisfactory love story.

Hope this helps! :)

I heard all about Huanrui's CP destroying act.... what the heck is up with that???
Ohh that >.< I really didn't like reading about that since I felt really sad when some people misunderstood Cheng Yi (CY). Apparently, Huanrui (HR) wanted to end the CP because CY's new drama TPOC started broadcasting. It is pretty apparent that CY was holding back on interacting freely with Yuan Bing Yan (YBY) and it is also noticeable that YBY wasn't interacting freely with CY at that event. Some extreme CP fans didn't like it at all. People tried to taint CY's image and blame it on him. But it is so obvious that as an actor (without much influence or say) under his agency, CY doesn't have much say and must listen to his superiors, especially inside of the Chinese culture. Petty netizens put together screenshots to try to give Cheng Yi a bad image. Even the media tried to get traffic by spreading news that CY lost fans overnight - but in reality, the next day, he gained it all back and even more. Many fans defended CY and industry friends and colleagues also defended CY. Some sharp netizens observed that there were tears in CY's eyes also at the event, and that the drama was very dear to all the actors and it must have not been easy to let go of their characters. Prior to that event, CY and YB were interacting very openly and freely. But we have to remember that they were not super popular actors. Since the drama became an unexpected hit with trending topics everyday on Weibo, the main leads, especially CY, suddenly became under the radar of millions of people. All this must have been not easy for all the involved parties to deal with - especially with a new airing drama right after Love and Redemption. That's the general take I got out of the reading I did online. Maybe I'm missing some info also. Anyways, I just go watch the cute behind the scenes and love seeing CY and YBY interacting freely. That's where they're the most comfortable! :)

Yes, Hao Chen is the worst, but he is also the most handsome villain I've seen. hahaha. Every time he opened his mouth, I wanted to skip his scene, but I couldn't since I didn't want to skip any important conversations. hahaha. But thankfully, there are so many cute and sweet moments here and there that kept my heart fluttering. :)

First thing I see in the morning is that almost all dramas dropped more points! Even the beloved Nirvana in Fire And my other fave Eternal Love dropped. So sad... I guess mdl is really doing a major cleanup. On a positive note, LaR is rated 9.6 on Viki and is still the #1 weekly top Chinese drama on there! :)

Yea! There are a few similarities but all in all, Love and Redemption is quite different. There are various twists and turns that will be very different and surprising! Especially, there is no heartbreaking love triangle! I absolutely loved Ashes of Love overall, but didn’t like the sad love triangle. AoL still my top 3rd favorite Cdrama ever.
