Yeaa.... I totally know what you are talking about! Ep 19 and 20 left a slight bad after taste for me. Up until ep 18, I was thinking that maybe this drama might be one that I can finally complete ever since my slump from L&R. We'll see. I hope the FL can really start to show her love for the ML through her actions and words.

hahaha, yea that song was all over the place in media! The OST is beautiful in this drama. Overall a great watch, but there were some dark parts that I wasn't prepared for, and had to close my eyes/skip. Still one of the more impressive dramas of 2020 for me. (Of course L&R is #1, hehe, fellow fan)

Oh right, Ning Yi was a very smart and interesting character. The actor really brought him to life.

Yea, Eternal Love was my #1 before. hahaha. Now it's still a favorite, but it went down to #2. >.< :)

Have you seen the behind the scenes and some of the uncut scenes that were released? Those totally add to the experience. I keep going back to watch those! The main leads are super sweet and comfortable with each other in the bts. And some of the evil characters are goofballs in real life. hehe

Yup, totally. I could start watching another drama, but it is simply lighthearted and fun. Nothing as captivating as L&R.

I'm still unable to fill the void (since Sept), but I think nothing can probably fill the void completely until another epic cdrama comes out. I'm quite happy with Love and Redemption taking the top seat at the moment. :) Other dramas that had impressed me in the past are:

Eternal Love (Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms) - It took me time to warm up to the characters and stories in the first 10-12 episodes, but after that, the passionate and intense love of the ML just took my breath away. But Si Feng topped Ye Hua!

Ashes of Love - If you can look past the FL's behavior caused by the not being able to love, then you'll be able to enjoy the story. I didn't mind the FL's lack of sense, though there were times I was super frustrated with her actions/words, but overall, Deng Lun totally pulled off the charismatic male lead. But he is ranked under Ye Hua.

To be honest, other dramas pale in comparison in terms of the romance and love from the ML towards the FL...(in my personal opinion), so although I may have enjoyed other dramas as a lighthearted watch, but none left me stuck for sooo long like Love and Redemption.

I wish the main leads of RuYi could have more romantic scenes together. It's already ep 18 and they've only had 1 accidental kiss!! The story itself is catching my attention but the romance part still feels sort of elementary in a way. Hope they progress!

I still check for L&R news almost daily, and follow Cheng Yi's activities, haha. Other dramas feel bland still.

But, RuYi is so far keeping my attention, but nothing so far can fill the void left by L&R, like Jen said above.

Now that you mention it, I did notice in some episodes, her foundation is super pale and lips/eyes are super reddish pink. I mean, FL is really pretty but I think she'd look even nicer
without too much makeup.

This has been a light-hearted and easy watch for me and kept my attention so far, as I am trying hard to get over Love and Redemption (since Sept, I couldn't find a drama that I could finish.) Hoping that it will continue at this pace!

So lucky you get a break now! That's the only thing I miss about school (vacation breaks) I don't miss studying (finished my post grad over a decade ago and I don't miss exams at all) I can only catch dramas or other hobbies after kids are asleep! And check MDL throughout my little breaks at work, haha

Yes yes! I keep checking Viki to see when they will have the subs! :) I have no doubt that when more people come to know of this drama through Viki and Wetv, it will definitely have more int'l viewers and higher ratings!

I came to watch the drama with zero expectation and knowledge (didn't watch any spoilers, read the synopsis, or even see the trailer) and it really delivered and wowed me!! Just try to enjoy the story and the love that blooms beautifully between the leads. Prepare tissues and prepare your heart for some angst in some of the episodes - but also know that there is plenty of sweetness to keep the heart warm :)
