Honestly i think this is much better than the two you watched
Have you tried Love and Redemption? Eternal Love took time for me to LOVE it - especially after ep 10/11 as others have suggested - and it became one of my top favorites. I also love Nirvana in Fire, but I prefer dramas with more sweet romance. If you haven't already, you should check out Love and Redemption if you are into xianxia and sweet romance stories. This one kept my interest from the first episode to the end.
That's a great news. Thanks a lot for sharing this! Can you tell me where I can see this information on weibo?
Found another post with fans discussing the views for Love and Redemption. Not easy to search for info without understanding Chinese! But not impossible! and I really do hope it's accurate. :) https://weibo.com/3968352527/JoSJfq3vX?refer_flag=1001030103_

I usually search the keywords "琉璃" (Love and Redemption) and "成毅" (Cheng Yi) and I google translate the page and scroll through the pages to find new info from Chinese fans. Here is a weibo post where fans were chatting about the views of the Promise of Chang An: https://weibo.com/5872245423/JoJKP3grO?type=comment I can't find the post about Love and Redemption but will share when I find it.
For me, I actually couldn't catch many things that the characters were saying and referring to in the beginning…
I took some time to get into cdramas a few years ago. And I haven't looked back ever since! :) In fact, I stopped watching American and kdramas. >.< Over the years, cdramas have been improving so much, though not perfect! Love and Redemption has a strong romance theme - and that's one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed it. I get sucked into pure and innocent romance stories. I am not interested in dramas with BL themes so I couldn't watch Untamed. >.< Love and Redemption hired a video games company to do their CGI, so it's one of the better ones. Maybe you have higher standards for CGI, but if you can get past that, and focus on the story development of the leads and the sects, it will unfold beautifully.
It's very good! Love and Redemption is #2 in rank for most watched drama of 2020. (in China) #1 is Eternal Love of Dream at 8+ billion views, according to the weibo poster. I read that since ELOD main leads are big celebrities, it had a lot of hype building up to its release and attracted a lot of viewers initially. But I read that many people complained that the beginning of the drama did not live up to its hype - but that the drama picked up towards the latter half. Considering that ELOC also came out much earlier in the year - I'm pretty sure Love and Redemption will eventually surpass ELOD's total views - but maybe not in 2020.
Yes, it's true. I saw it on Tencent app. The number of views indeed reach 1 billion.
Hey! I was able to find a post on Weibo that said: Love and Redemption has a total of 6.69 billion views (Youku 3.26 billion, Mango 3.43 billion), and that it should be able to break 7 billion by the end of the year! :)

Fans in China that saw Cheng Yi in the airport called out to him saying "QiQi" and they asked him if he got sick, and you could see his response by shaking his head. And then he shyly waves goodbye to his fans. And the flight attendants nearby thought he was waving to them. He seems like a shy guy who is not used to getting all this attention. ^^;;
Based on some Weibo posts I’ve seen, Promise of Chang An broke 1 billion views. Is that true? I’m only relying on google translate for that info and not sure if the translation is right.
